Villarreal were almost as poor as City were on Wednesday, another embarrassing away European performance with no bravery whatsoever, but Liverpool were impressive nonetheless. Sturridge is a fantastic footballer, he should be starting every game. Villarreal couldn't handle Lallana or Firmino either, a great assist for the third goal and that sumptuous spin. I let out a giddy yelp when he did it.
Villarreal have not won away all season in La Liga, crazy statistic that sheds light on last night.
Ah, I overheard the statistic whilst working, presumed they were speaking about Villarreal.Wut?
They won away at Valencia last Sunday for a start.
edit: just checked table, and think you mean Sevilla?
Happy days, season could end up pretty good for us after all, signing Klopp and possibly another European trophy and a CL place!
Next season...
What I've noticed with the atmosphere recently is its not really the level of noise but more of an energy seemingly around the ground which just helps instill belief in the players to push on no matter who they play. It was always going to be a given that they'd be up for it against Utd and Dortmund, but last night right from the off there seemed to be an electricity in the air that once again they could be on for something special. The most impressive thing about this season (if we don't win the final) is the clear direction we're going in. The league has become 2ND priority when it was more realistic that we could go for the Europa League (since United) and a lot of the players under klopp have improved massively, despite the league not being a great campaign. He's installed belief and with that there have been some outstanding performances and results, and we're finally starting to score a lot of goals.
As Pagnell said, if we get CL football and with the lure of Klopp, it could finally put us back on the map as a constant threat at least for a top 4 spot with the players we could attract.
We just need to get the consistency and then we'll be fine.
I fancy our chances against anyone at Anfield now, and the atmosphere is a lot better. Still not great unless it's a top billed game, but at least it's no longer pin drop silence.
Sturridge needs to start the final.
Just seen this. Your point was comparing diving to taking performance enhancing drugs? Obviously both are wrong and discouraged but the latter is far worse for a variety of reasons imo.Nilsson: The point flew right over your head it seems.

Missed the game unfortunately, unlucky Villarreal, it seems cheats to prosper in this wonderful sport. What a shame.
Lose the argument so play dumb. It would be fairly amusing if it wasn't so predictable, people like you are really turning this forum into a cesspit of shite, I might leave in a massive huff if things don't improve.
You're either trolling or you've lost it completely. I can't decide.

I'm in total shock. You really can't see the difference between diving and taking performance enhancing drugs?! 'Diving' is a very complicated concept, is exaggerating contact diving? Will a player get a penalty if he stays on his feet despite being fouled in the box? These are questions smarter men than you or I will have pondered. Whereas taking performance enhancing drugs is arguably the worse thing any sportsman can do (up there with match fixing for me). What Sakho did was cheat us football fans (who invest a lot of time and money into the game I might add) of a fair and proper Europa League and I for one am gutted.Lost the argument?
I don't think one player using fat burners is far worse than a blatant dive in the penalty area resulting in a goal. I'm not even sure the former gives you more of an advantage than the latter. In both cases it's cheating, and in neither case it equates to, what did you call it, a giant asterisk?
Edit: Feigning injury to waste time is cheating, too! So you reckon Atletico's potential CL-win's gonna have that imaginary asterisk next to it, too?
