Seems the Jimmy instagram post was a hack...

Christ this site is appalling now my membership has run out. Post a message, and it just loads a advert on the same tab.

Cook rejected a new contract, TT stuck to his guns and came out with a better player overall... Martelus Bennett.

Seems to be universal plaudits for the Patriots acquiring Cooks but given what they gave up and that they'll have to pay him big in a year... I reckon Saints have got the better of that. They clearly feel they can replace Cooks production as well.

There is the fifth year option we have on him so technically it's two years if we choose to pick that up in May I believe it is.

I'm just grateful it's only draft picks to be honest. Really did not want to lose Malcolm Butler for a receiver. I'll be interested how he fits in to this offense though as we haven't had that straight up speedster on the outside since Moss.

Yeah i soon realised afterwards that there's the 5th year thatll surely be picked up. I cede ground somewhat as that certainly balances it out a lot better.

I'm not convinced Cooks is as good as the reputation, and while is better than all bar Edelman (though very different roles) it doesnt perhaps send a ringing endorsement of Hogan or Mitchell's ceiling. I wonder, if anything, that its more a sign of continually evolving the offense to move away from the focus on Gronk then Edelman to prevent opposition teams gradually catching up on working out how best to confront it.

Any interest in fantasy-type NFL game on a different forum? You take control of a team, retain a number of players from last season, and then we do a full draft to fill remaining roster spots. All drafting is done via message board posts so isn't one big shebang night, the game has been running for 10+ years.

It's a small but good NFL community of mainly UK-based members, and we need a couple of people to take up the HC roles for a couple of teams. At the weekend we had results night, I (Cardinals) finished 30th of 32, my deliberate attempts to tank for the 32nd spot and get the first pick in the draft failed...

It's a great game - you can trade your picks and players, put together a roster and it's a good sized forum for NFL chat (only has about 30/35 active members).

Panthers, Seahawks, Texans and possibly the Packers.

The teams are all but names though - Panthers and Seahawks have good strong squads of players you can choose to retain, Texans have Brady (I think).

If anyone takes a team though will definitely need to stick with it til the end of the draft - can't be coming out half way through. Never before have I looked before indepth at depth charts to see if there are any starting right giards left in the pot :)

Raiders officially given the go ahead to relocate to Vegas. Why do I get the feeling this is going to be a total clusterfuck like the Chargers decision to move to LA? *sigh*

Talent wise there is no doubt he could probably improve all bar about 6 teams QB situation but I think it's the right decision given his injury history. Get out with his money and avoid further damage to his body which would surely have happened if he played on.

Hopefully CBS can put him in place of Phil Simms in the booth.

Wrong thread my man.

Though...less than a month until Hard Knocks. I can smell the NFL season.

Rarely come on here much these days since my membership expired and then saw the horror of the ads everywhere, but hope we do another fantasy football. Ideally with less (more active) teams.

In every year until the forum disbands. :)

Agree with JimBob - can we limit it to 12-14 teams including all regular contributors to this thread?

Defending champ is in if there's still space. I'd have been more active last season if my team hadn't been so fucking awesome from the off.

Delighted to learn that Sam Ponder is making the jump to the big leagues this year and will be hosting the ESPN Countdown show - I can stop pretending to care about College football now.
