Just finished watching Strike Back - Project Dawn ( Series 2) and enjoyed it even though it's daft plot is way over the top. There are as many shagging scenes as shoot-outs but is none the worse for it i suppose. Unrealistic and trashy but a good watch. 7/10. Will start series 3 tomorrow.

Last night was the 2nd episode of 4 and as he's the main character i imagine will be in it to the very end. Not the best role he's played but he puts in a good performance to be fair.
Well if he snuffs it in the remaining episodes don't be too surprised :D

Finished Veep series 3. Still not as good as In The Thick Of It though it does have its moments, and it has the mighty Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the lead - I'll watch her in anything, funny as hell and sex on legs - what a woman!

Halfway through series 3 of Vikings, it's probably the best yet but then the previous 2 series weren't that good, shield maidens my arse!

Did anyone watch The Enfield Haunting last night? I thought it was pretty good. All three episodes are on Sky On Demand so I'll probably watch the other two today.

Battlestar is frustrating, seasons of brilliance followed by seasons that are just frankly awful.

Got the first episode taped - will probably watch it after we run Survivor tonight. Anything with the Spall in it is worth watching, and I love all that ghost shite! :D

So how many episodes are there? I remember reading an article about what happened to the family a couple of years ago sc ary stuff if it's to be believed.

Three, as I said in my post...

Just finished them all. Pretty good I must say. Had the right mix of creepiness and story. Spall was excellent as always.

Last night, I said in the shoutbox that I'd consider actually watching something I've never really tried watching properly before... South Park. I'm like the only person on the planet who's never seen it.

So today, I've actually sat and watched the first two episodes. It's got a few slight laughs out of me, but I'm not buying it thus far. I am aware though that it apparently gets better in later seasons, so I'll stick with it.

It's just... I dunno. I'm not into the sense of humour. It's all like "OHLOLOL ANAL PROBES ARE HILARIOUS" and half the time I can't even understand what Cartman is saying. It feels like the sort of thing that a group of like 2 guys would make and stick on the internet now and it'd get slight popularity but never really become big.

Still, I'm gonna give it a chance to grow on me and win me over.

I never 'got' South Park. Considering I was about 15 when it started, I should have been the target audience but I just found it too juvenile.

Don't watch it from the start ffs. The whole point of the show is that it mocks current stuff. If you really do want to watch it from a beginning point though I'd suggest season 5 as a starting point. It's kind of like starting The Simpsons or Family Guy from the start in that it started off as a completely different show in the first few seasons.

It's exceptionally hit & miss. There's episodes I could watch 100 times and not think they were ace and laugh throughout and then there's tonnes I've sat through and wished I'd stopped after the opening because I didn't 'get it'. I'm not someone who enjoys silly toilet humour type stuff either.

The first few seasons of South Park were much less bothered about being topical than the current ones. There were plenty of references of course but nothing like the later seasons were you rarely get a self-contained episode. The first few seasons are dated in terms of the animation etc but probably less so in terms of the actual plots than, say, an episode from a few seasons back.

I was the same with South Park, I though it juvenile and unfunny, but the older I get, the more I love it. Sure the last few seasons haven't been amazing, but for about 10 seasons straight it got better and better, with storylines that are just brilliant, and how they get away with some of the stuff they've done with the celebrities I don't know. Other cartoon comedies like The Simpsons, Family Guy and Yank Dad have all became repetitive and dull and need put out of their misery now, but South Park still at least tries to keep fresh. Stick with it Oaf, if you can.

South Park is garbage, Oaf. Bin it now before you waste anymore of your precious time. Go watch a proper show like King of the Hill.

Just finished Wolf Hall, pretty good. Damian Lewis is always good and he has great presence, intelligence and nastiness in him playing Henry VIII and Mark Rylance has the quiet authority needed to play a supreme puppetmaster in Thomas Cromwell. The last episode was very well directed especially the decapitation of Anne Boleyn. Looking forward to the next series.

Yeah avoid early south park episodes. Anything post butters and timmys arrival is much easier to watch and laugh at

My personal faves are:
The randy / weed one
The KFC one
The special Olympics one
The one where cartman gets revenge in the bully
The nlord of the rings one

Does this also mean you haven't played the game??? Missing out on a classic

The World of Warcraft episode is a favorite of mine as well, as well as the episode that iesty wfc posted. You should also check Russell Crowe's episode, very funny.

I played the old game, the FPS where you could shoot a cows ass onto peoples heads, if that counts...

I have to be honest, it's seeing episodes like the WoW one and what not that have always made me want to check the show out. That and the fact that it's got such a following and I feel as if I'm missing out.

And on the topic of skipping the first few seasons... I just can't. I hate the thought of watching something midway through. I know, it's hardly as if it's got some big chronology to follow, but fuck it.

I wouldn't tell you to skip the first few seasons, actually watch them all as there are obviously really good episodes in the first few seasons and you can see the show and the characters grow and become better.

Into S3 of Archer, put it off because it was a cartoon, what a twat I was.

What a fucking show, hilarious.

Tempted to try that Daredevil that every comic book nerd is creaming over. Not into superheroes whatsoever, not really like any of it even as a kid, but it is getting really good reviews. Anyone know whether it is worth trying even to someone who doesn't like superheroes?

Yeah, Archer is great. As for Daredevil... well, ok yeah I am one of these comic book nerds so I may be a little biased, but yeah, I would say it'd still appeal to people who aren't typically into that sort of thing. The only thing you have to suspend your belief with is just buying into the idea of a blind dude having the rest of his senses upgraded to amazing levels so that he can kick some ass based on sounds, vibrations in the air, and shit like that. Beyond that though, it's all pretty real in terms of the story, characters, and what not.
