That Chorley equaliser at 5:18 is an utter beauty.

Same here. 950 fans there today for a club chasing the top level of non-league football. Wonder how long it'll take before their owners realise that there is no desire for another bankrolled hobby club on the Fylde coast after Fleetwood grabbed that goose.
Guiseley have been bankrolled for years too.

If they go up I fancy Chorley would muster 2,000 home fans for the big games at Victory Park and would travel in decent enough numbers for a newly promoted side.

Can't see Chester bringing many to Chorley this time round. :animatedf:

Why not? Nearly 1k on our last visit which was a Wednesday night. Expect we'd take that again.

Hope they come up, fixture list will look a lot more interesting with Tranmere and Chorley added to it.

What an equaliser by the Chorley striker. If that was scored by Messi or Ronaldo or someone else like that, everyone will be talking about it and watching it for weeks.

We'll take 500 there next season if they do it. I hope they've improved their ground. Absolutely gash 3 years ago.

The Chorley keeper celebrating the penalty miss on 9mins is like Keown v Van Nistelrooy II.

That's one of the most exciting matches ever! The Chorley equaliser - fucking hell. Any player on Earth would have been proud of that.

I don't like Boston so glad they're out. Fylde are a joke club so glad they're out too. I'd marginally prefer Chorley to come up as they seem a more sustainably run club, but Guiseley have always seemed harmless enough to me. And it's not like they haven't earned their stripes after all these playoff defeats (including to us in the very last minute last season).

I visited Stockport's messageboard when looking at a possible U's/Barrow Manchester double header in January and they seemed pretty miserable and pessimistic (at least about the football). I hadn't realised how relatively well their attendances were holding up.

http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/confnorth/attendances

I stood on one of the biggest terraces in the country at Edgeley Park for an FA Cup match in the 60's and, having met a few fans, I hope their journey back can begin next season.
Really pleased with our attendances this season. Last time we were in the Conference we'd occasionally drop down to 600-odd on a Tuesday and I think once or twice we even fell down to 590 or something. Nothing below 800 this season. The club have done a good job of building the profile in the local community. Helps that we try to play some decent stuff these days too, of course.

Chorley 1–0 up early on. Sounds a cracker, a few parties of Shaymen there too.

Police were turning people away at 2.30 when I got there as they'd shut the doors.

Have to wait for the Tranmere game next season.

Why didn't they make it all-ticket?

Shame for Chorley - would have been a much better prospect for the league.

Says a lot about the joke regarding ground standards. If you can only hold 3400 you should not be allowed in the Conference Prem.

To be fair, I don't think Guiseley could hold any more to be honest.

Don't want Whitehawk up - disappointed that they scored that late penalty to take it into ET. Boreham Wood a lesser of two evils?

Amazed Chorley threw it away too - didn't realise they have quite a decent following so it's a shame they didn't come up.

So Guiseley claim the first relegation spot for next season.

Why should teams be denied because their grounds are small?

TBF most clubs in the Conference would struggle to get 3,400 for a league game. It would be fine 95% of the time for a team like Chorley.

We would have never got in then as our ground only holds 3,500.

Dont think its gonna take a lot to survive next season in terms of point totals but its going to be very competitive! Boring Wood/ Whitehawk and Guiseley and most probably Bromley look most likely. Then Southport and Welling and Braintree/Alty will struggle again. Then of course there is Lincoln/Kiddy and Torquay? I think the big ex league clubs like Lincoln etc may just be ok.

All depends how big the cheque book is that the promoted sides get out. It's well known that Boreham Wood, Barrow, and Bromley have lots of cash. Guiseley are bankrolled also - but it all depends if the owner puts his hands in his pockets to spend on the scale that the other 3 promoted sides will.
