What a first frame this is so far. A decent break, some great safety, a couple of good escapes and the most fortunate miss from a snooker I've ever seen.

I hate Willie Thorne. Won fuck all as a player yet commentates as though he's World Champ. He also uses 'words' like 'cush' when he means cushion.

He's a twat. Spends the entire time second guessing what the player is going to do, then they do it differently and then he says they should have done it his way. Dennis Taylor is the best and I think I rate Hendry second.

Exactly, he prided himself on being the supposed 'king of 147's' in practise! Yes in practise, because when it came to the crunch he was a mediocre player at best, yet for some reason became one of the most famous snooker players of his generation when it all took off. He's like Gary fucking Birtles commentating - everything is a criticism, and they make it sound so patronising, as if to say, I could do this better than them, even though they couldn't.

Gone off Virgo as well, especially when he shouts, 'WHERE'S THE CUE BALL GOING!!!!!!!!', when its very approximately on course for going in a pocket, even if its 12 foot away! Git!

Definitely THIS.

Although that aside, he's far, far better than Thorne. Hendry, Davis & Parrot are all decent.

Whispering Ted Lowe was the best, though I quite liked Clive Everton (despite the surname I may add!) as he always had some story to tell during a match and let the snooker do most of the talking.

Yep, I never had him down as World Champion material. Always looked a solid top-16 player but nothing more. God only knows what he's done to improve matters but he's looked fantastic in this tournament. It's always good to see a new WC (other than the year Ebdon won it - I really disliked him) so it'll be good to see him do it. An all Essex final as well so no regional bias from me!
