We Arsenal fans are quick to forget that the only reason Wenger has been (tangibly) better than Rodgers in the last three seasons as rival managers is because he splashes so much cash—like a motherfucking pimp in Brooklyn—and because London has nice shops.

My favourite is still SALTIRE trying to attack Wenger's transfer record while simultaneously defending Rodgers as a comparable manager. World class wummery from him. The Messi of wind-ups.

It seems Arsenal fans are comparing Wenger to Rodgers to make themselves feel better. Rodgers should be compared to Pochettino. Both young, new and managing clubs at the same level.

The best comparison would be...

Would Arsenal fans replace their specialist in failure with either of these current and former manager?

They probably wouldn't have Jose due to his brand of football, however Ferguson, if they put aside their (and everyone elses) utter hatred of the man, then any club in the world would employ him, and they'd be idiots not to.

Of course I'd take SAF and the success he clearly earned. Would he have stayed during the lean transfer years as the Emirates was built? Would Mourinho? I respect SAF as the best manager in football hIstory.

JoMo threw his toys out of the pram after three months of Steve Sidwell, AS IF the egomaniacal little psychopath would have lasted eight seasons of austerity. Now that we're spending money again he probably would win more than Wenger with us, but Clough at Leeds springs to mind. I want us to beat him, not join him (or him join us or whatever.)

Bloody love Wenger the man. Irreplaceable lovely old eccentric stubborn mad ideologue. You can't go from that to Mourinho, too jarring. We'd have to work our way up through the lesser evils (Warnock to Allardyce to Pol Pot, and then to Mourinho).

Really? You are no different than the Liverpool fans who would keep Rodgers instead of Wenger. At least I could see a sense there but keeping Wenger instead of Mourinho? That is delusion. Arsene is the reason Arsenal are grouped among the likes of Liverpool and Spurs. United, Chelsea and even City are in a different level now.

I didn't say Wenger is better than Mourinho, Adrian. I said Mourinho's a despicable bastard and I wouldn't want him, or Rui Faria, anywhere near the dugout.

Preferably they'd be as far away as Mars, but you can't always get what you want.
