Now usually I'd root for Toulouse as I don't want them to go down but I really hope Monaco beat them as I'd rather have them in the play-offs than Marseille. For one thing I don't think Marseille will win the play-off and them in the group stages will be a disaster I reckon. It'll be hard enough for Lyon depending on who they sell.

In Ligue 2, Troyes have been promoted and will be champions if they win at Nîmes this afternoon. Big game on Monday evening also with Brest (6th) hosting Dijon (4th). Victory pretty much mandatory for Brest if they want to go up.
At the bottom, Arles-Avignon and Châteauroux are still way adrift from the rest at the bottom but keep winning. It's not mathematically done but should be next week.

No changes at the top of National with the top 5 winning their games. Epinal and Istres are relegated to CFA.

I hope Troyes do come up. They have some good players notably Corentin Jean who is a young striker.

Lyon should beat Evian today and add pressure on PSG for tomorrow night.
Re: Thauvin, left out of the squad yesterday and has fallen out with first team players.
Spurs and Newcastle interested.

Lyon beat Evian 2-0 yesterday. They weren't at there best but got the 3 points.
Looking forward to tonight's game.

Bad loss for Saint-Etienne at Bastia last night. With Monaco winning 4-1 today, Les Verts are 5 points behind Monaco with 3 games to go.

Marseille/Monaco next week. Juicy.

I don't usually give a damn about this type of thing (bit like the winner of the Ballon d'Or) but there are some controversial choices and we actually have a deserving winner in each category this season.

For managers, Jardim not being up there is revolting and frankly a glaring bias from the league towards Dugarry's (fair) criticism of Jardim boring football. Say what you will about his style, he still got Monaco in the CL quarters knocking out Arsenal and will finish most probably 3rd. Galtier should be nowhere near that list either. Saint-Etienne haven't improved this season and have been boring in the EL (5 draws in 6 games, zzzzzzzzzzz). Again. Bias.
Fournier should win this hands down. What a great manager this guy is. Done wonders at Reims (the house is on fire since he left and I reckon they'll go down) and is now doing superb at Lyon. Putting them back in the CL is a great achievement.

No complaints for young player of the year. They should all be up there. Marquinhos will probably win because he plays for PSG but I do reckon he should. We've seen Fekir's limitations when Lacazette was out injured and he isn't honestly all that for me. Not a bad player but I'd rather have Martial in my team in the same position tbh. Haven't watched Montpellier that much this season either and I'm sure Sanson has been fine for them but Marquinhos is just so composed for someone so young. Quite useful in a back four as well as he can play RB and CB. He was often picked as makeshift RB in the CL games ahead of Van der Wiel and Aurier.

For player, I hope Lacazette wins. He's been superb and a future great. Again, Ibra being there is a travesty. He's been utter shite all year. And Lopes has been the better goalkeeper I reckon.

One last thing are the goals. I don't think Ligue 1 is that poor a league in terms of spectacle and the league didn't cover itself in glory naming Ayew's goal at Reims (it's a tap-in ffs!) amongst the top 5. I also don't think Bosetti's goal is anything special as the goalkeeper is completely off his line. Had he been on, yes maybe, but he's clearly nominated for "la beauté du geste". Palmieri should win that one. Such a sweet strike.

Well done to Red Star who have been promoted to Ligue 2 16 years later. They need to find a stadium now. Could be the Stade de France!

They'll be in the CL so I reckon it's not too bad. Big challenge now is to keep all these promising youngsters.

I can see Lacazette going, always clubs on look out for goalscorers. It's good they got to the CL of course, shame they couldn't take the league ultimately but I suspect Lyon will see it as good progress after years in the wilderness continentally speaking?

Incredible! Caen 3-0 Lyon!
But didn't Remy Vercoute have a good game!
That pretty much settles who's going to win the league now. The title race was fun while it lasted!
As for Lyon ; Hope they can keep hold of their star players and would love to see this team in the champions league. A year older, more mature and contuining to play good football.

Coach of the year; Blanc Farce. Fournier deserves it 10 times more.
Young player of the year; Fekir Sounds about right. Still not impressed by him when Lacazette was injured. Would have had Marquinhos.
Player of the year; Lacazette Yeah probably. Still not a great performer after his return from injury.
Goalkeeper of the year; Mandanda Just. No. Lopes and Subasic have had far better seasons.

You checked the team of the year. How Thiago Silva and David Luiz got in in front of Umtiti I'll never know. Also, Ibra shouldn't be in there. Got there just by name.

I think Fournier or Jardim deserved the award for coach of the year.
People seemed to be surprised when Mandanda won GK award, but he's been outstanding this season and so has Lopes.

Like you, I was also surprised to see David Luiz in the team of the year. Umtiti deserved to be in their along with Silva (who I think has been excellent).

The awards nights should happen after the season. Not before the season ends!

Have Lille been defensively minded all season? They were awful at a Goodison when we played them

To be honest, they've been really poor defensively. Obviously last year was superb at the back but this year not so great.
It's pretty much the same team as last year too but poor results meant the manager leaving.
Need to improve the squad massively.
