I doubt anyone would be saying anything of the sort had we and Eastleigh got to the final and got a 20k crowd, which would have been amazing given the relative size of the 2 clubs, would they?

Using your logic, everyone on here would be praising the 2 clubs because everything is relative, so a 20k crowd for a Conference game would be superb.

Somehow I doubt that would be the case, many would be laughing at any fans of either club who were happy with their own turnout/noise.

Well surprisingly enough, everyone on here supports a non league club. Going with the territory everyone gets stick off armchair fans. So anything that raises the profile of non league football and makes us look less tinpot should be congratulated. Everyone's congratulated them as they've turned out in great numbers and created a great atmosphere RELATIVE to the level of football they're representing.

You just seem to be getting genuinely upset because hypothetically you wouldn't get a well done for taking 10k fans? Seriously? Grow up.

No, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of Grimsby fans in particular, when they took an amount which wasn't a whole lot more then the likes of ourselves and Eastleigh would bring, and yet somehow see that as praiseworthy and proof that they're something special. They would be amongst the first to bash ourselves or Eastleigh's turnouts, that's for sure.

Even if we'd taken more then them we'd still get derided and people saying the majority of our fans were daytrippers, which of course isn't true of the bigger clubs, is it?

It was our 5th time at Wembley for crying out loud. The fact the day trippers didn't come actually made the atmosphere better.

They brought 16k on a long trip, for the 5th time in recent years and made a hell of a lot of noise.

No one gives a toss how many you'd bring and the fact you'd be like church mice. They were there, made a lot of noise and a few fans said well done.

I'd also like to see where any of us has said 16k or whatever it was, is decent, because I seem to remember us all expecting 20k+ and saying less than that would be disappointing.

The fact we then went on to make a great atmosphere with only that is what is being commended, and I imagine like Bristol if we had took over 20k the atmosphere wouldn't have been as good because of the day trippers.

I was disappointed but in the future I'd be happy only taking 15k again, even if we did once take 30k
