Minecraft isn't shit but I do find it quite boring.

This shot with a colour scheme to fit whichever country just scored:

I'll be nice and say that it was a pretty limited game as there were no styles and there were hardly differences in quality. Basically if you won one game you could win any game. Proper satisfying to spend 10 minutes scything down oppo players and trying to shoot against a Pong CPU-style goalkeeper though.

Yeah, used to love how every time you tackled a player, it flattened them! Good times, this was my introduction to football, I was disappointed that when I first saw a game in the flesh on my local playing fields, it didnt have that midi music going on the background! It did have the sound effects though...

Pretty much every early access game i've bought on Steam could go in here. I really need to stop doing that.

This exactly. No longer buy anything on early access.

Hahaha, while live football came before Italia '90 for me, I still felt for a while making as loud a DRIBBLE. DRIBBLE. BLUG. AUGHH. sound as possible while playing meant your technique was pretty good.

I played FIFA '93 in tandem at the time, which was probably the earliest 3D effort I've ever played. Still very limited in gameplay (there were like two ways of actually being able to score), the best bits of it were the different scoreboard screens that flashed up when you scored (reminiscent of the old one at Gigg Lane I was engrossed by as a nipper), and the fact that you could run away from the referee indefinitely when he was walking over to send you off.

Everyone ran away from the ref! I miss when football games were simple and fun like that!

DA HAYELL. What did you do on it? How long did you play it for? What was it about it that you didn't like?
I need to know these things.
Just not a big fan of the graphics in game.

Ok, disregarding the fact that I actually think that the game's whole look is fucking brilliant and iconic, you shouldn't let the graphics of something put you off. When I first went to play Final Fantasy VII my initial reaction was "Ouch, my eyes are bleeding", but once you wipe away the blood and just stick with it you come to realise that the gameplay shines through. And now I consider FFVII one of the best games I've ever played.

Minecraft isn't a bad game: it allows for a huge amount of creativity and enjoyment with all the mods especially. It does however get dull after a while.

Not to mention the fact that there are about 70,000,000 different skin packs...

Dead or Alive 4 on the xbox 360 was a poor game and also one of the most frustrating games i've ever played on.

I tried Minecraft and wasn't a fan, but no way the worse game I've ever played, I just didn't really enjoy it.
One of the worse I played was trying out the Street Fighter series on PS2 to see what the hype was about, bought one along the lines of 'SF Super Turbo Alpha' something or another and thought it was shite, turned me off the series until SF4

Tempted by Ark: Survival Evolved, despite the fact I know it runs at around 30fps. Looks like it'd be a really good game if it didn't run like shit.

Prick :bg1:

You should come round to mine and have a go on Dragon Age:Origins on PS3. I swear that game never went above 20fps. You'd have a fucking heart attack, mate

I genuinley can't get away with FPS that low, it hurts my eyes. Then sometimes you have a game that runs with stupidly high FPS and you get screen tearing. It's hard to find the right balance mate, it really is. 144hz is the shit though, so smooth, so bootyfull, so..... master race :2thumb:

I've also been looking at that game, does look pretty cool. It's just... like £21 for an early access game like that? Seems like too much of a risk.

But hey, if it finds its way onto a sale tomorrow, I may just be tempted.

Yeah, early access survival games don't have a great history tbf. DayZ, StarForge, Rust, Stomping Lands etc. Bought them all, was let down by them all :( I'd be all over Ark right now if I had any faith in them optimising that shit.

Speaking of early access, have either of you tried, erm, Stranded Deep? I quite like the look of that.

Yeah I had a look at Stranded Deep. Very good concept, but the game had fuck all in it to do last time I played it. Gets dull fast.

But yeah, the sandbox survival genre market is ridiculously over saturated right now. Really hard to know which ones are winners and which ones suck.

Hadn't heard of it until now. Looks decent going off trailers and screenshots, but so did most of the shite survival games I've bought over the years
