You're welcome :)

Seriously though, we must be the most pessimistic and fickle fans in this league.

Just confirming what we all knew. Just like we all know Clement is taking over.

I feel a bit sorry for McClaren. He's done a great job at this club, and his win ratio tells you that. The best in the clubs history. But the way he flirted with Newcastle was unacceptable, and the board clearly thought that was the biggest reason for our failure.

This would be a great fit for Warburton although it sounds like Clement is all but confirmed.

Don't know a great deal about Clement, he had an interview in the FA Bootroom magazine and that is pretty much the only think I can think of reading about him, thought it was strange we had an English coach so highly placed at a number of clubs abroad and that little was made of that so looking forward to seeing how he does.

Shame how it all fizzled out with Mac, 1 and a half seasons of very enjoyable, good football.

Clement sounds odds on, see where this next chapter takes us. Not looking forward to the Wolves lot crying when we get Bale on loan next year...

The way he handled the Newcastle issue was pathetic, way to ruin what was a very impressive stint. He just can't seem to help himself, all is going swimmingly but he will pull out something bizarre and fucks himself over. Still, Clement sounds like a very interesting appointment.

The trouble is, it could go absolutely brilliant but we have just as much chance of it going horribly wrong. We could go on to make some great signings who then help us smash the league next year, meanwhile we could find ourselves on the very wrong end of the table. We'll find out soon enough.

Doesn't that go for absolutely anyone though bar the likes of Mourinho etc?

Maybe, but we're signing a guy from the Spanish league who has never managed before, so to come to a league like the Championship where the league is so competitive makes it that bit more than a risk. He's also apparently gonna be the highest paid manager in the league.

...yet still taking a pay cut. Real were paying him an obscene amount of money.

Whilst any managerial appointment is never nailed on, (bar Jose), Clement's CV isn't too shabby despite never managing before. There's plenty of experienced managers who under perform every year, especially at this level. Look at Mac's effect here compared to the one he had at Forest.

The Sun are reporting that Clement has tonight signed to be our new head coach.

They're also saying he will earn £3m a year, making him the sixth highest paid in the country ahead of the likes of Roy Hodgson. Absolute bollocks.

£60k a week apparently. Jesus Christ you lot are taking a risk here.

Could be genius. Could be funny as fuck.

And a 4 year contract for Bent to warm your bench on his £££££ as well. You've really not paid attention to what we've been doing have you?!

Bent is going to be on 25k a week apparently. We still need to buy a new defence, and are trying to get Ince which could cost as much as £3m.

If all the figures are right, then we've basically seen QPR get away with it and thought fuck it... I don't believe we're paying Clement that much though, as it's ludicrous!

I think we'll be alright with these relaxed rules coming in.
Our main investor owns Candy Crush which is pretty handy. I bet there are people reading this very post that have inadvertently invested in Derby County Football Club. Thank you, keep it coming.

As for Clement, seems a good young coach who's had plenty of success in recent years but with no actual managerial experience is he worth all this dollar?
We could tempt a lot of good managers away from their clubs with the figures being banded around at the moment.

Marca still reporting he'll be taking a cut from his 2.5 million a year deal at Real.

I hope we kick up and absolute shitstorm with Leeds if you don't get punished like us (if you don't go up of course), on top of the QPR debacle.

The football league have kicked us both enough times, no respect. Time we stood up.

Rules are rules kidda ;) Abide to them at the right times and you won't get punished!

Anyway, our DET journo has spoken to the club, can you believe The Sun were bullshitting?!

REPORTS that Derby County's number one target for the post of head coach, Paul Clement, would earn multi-million pounds a year with the Rams have been described as "absolute nonsense".

A report in The Sun said Clement is ready to sign a staggering £3m-a-year contract.
Reports elsewhere put the figure at £2.7m.

I understand these figures are wide of the mark by some considerable distance.

We won't be paying Clement £3m a year.
Ridiculous figure plucked out of thin air by some second rate hack at The Sun.

Yeah, Daily Mail reporting 1 million a year now, 20k a week. Although it just looks copy and paste from The Suns article. We'll just wait and see.

Either way, we've not got a bunch of idiots running the club so I'm confident they'll come to the right conclusion regardless.

Paul Clement will be unveiled as Derby's new head coach early next week. Expected to be a 3 year deal #dcfc

He's rarely wrong with the things he makes public so things are looking good.
Hopefully puts the Sunderland airport rumours to bed...!

It won't happen. The men at the top haven't been following FFP rules for this long to toss it away. I'm not saying they won't have to arrange internal sponsor ship deals and find some other loopholes, but will never be as brazen as Leeds, Forest or QPR with their total disregard of FFP.

Can I ask what would Derby fans' expectations would be? Is there a season to rebuild or reshape things for Clement, or is it a serious promotion tilt from the off the basic expectation? I mean the squad should be there to go at it assuming nobody is sold... but a new manager usually wants to change things a bit?
