Shit the bed, that is a trek for players who probably earn 50 quid a week.

See Rangers got past Queens and now face Hibs in the next stage of the play-offs.

its quite good these play-offs, more name type matches than in the season since it has Rangers Vs hibs and then the winners face Motherwell.

Unlucky for queen of the South who have done well this season, but to have got promotion they'd had to get past Rangers then Hibs then Motherwell............a bloody tough ask for a small club.

amazing to think The Championship will have a couple of well known Scottish football names it in again next season.

I'm going to the Hibs vs Rangers game next Saturday. Not particularly bothered who wins, but would marginally prefer Hibs as an Edinburgh derby next season would be interesting.

Stubbsy is doing fine with Hibs, and McCall is turning things around slowly at Rangers too. I really hope Hibs get through though.

The new Scottish play-off format makes it more interesting definitely, more change in the SPL will make it better in my opinion but it needs all of it's big clubs back up there.

I don't know how much longer it will last as I think they want to increase the top flight numbers, probably for the reason to keep hearts, Hibs, Rangers etc, etc in it (you can understand that really) but it'll be good if they keep the play-offs as it does add interest.

going to watch game tomorrow if its on, should be a good game, first real 'pressure' game for Rangers since they collapsed. Will their players finally rise tot he huge inflated wages they have or will they collapse.

I can definitely see the SPL being expanded, the league needs all the bigger clubs like Rangers, Hearts and Hibernian in there financially. The last few years have been awful, this season wasn't quite as bad with Abderdeen at least pushing Celtic a little bit. Having Rangers in will only strengthen both old firm clubs, Celtic will struggle to attract decent players to a league with the quality currently in it.

I would agree with that. If you take the 12 current SPL sides, and add Rangers, Hearts, Hibs, Falkirk, Queen of the South and Raith - that would give you 18 teams, which would be a much better number for the top flight than having 12, which does get a bit repetitive.

I would not be surprised to see the Scottish league being reconstructed in the next few years as a bigger league can only be good for the teams in the top division and is also a way of the season becoming less repetitive, adding Rangers back to the top flight can only mean a good thing for Celtic as the stronger Rangers get as a club Celtic will be pushed to become stronger and keep hold to the title and also attracting better players for Europe.

Rangers 2-0 Hibs tonight, makes it a tough job for Hibs on Saturday. At least if they fall short I can claim to be a Hearts/Aberdeen/Torquay fan.

Disappointing result for Hibernian, big task to turn it around. Feel for them, one big club is still going to be at that level next season and that could still be two. Think Rangers will see the job through right back to the SPL now.

Well done Rangers, think they'll go on and beat Motherwell. Shame for Hibernian but it's been a promising season for them.

It was a meaningless match mate, just like Liverpool at Stoke at on Sunday. I'm not bothered about either result - honest!!!
:jones:

I feel for you mate, that must have been a rough day. I'll leave it :p

I really enjoyed Hibs vs Rangers on Saturday, probably helped by the fact that I haven't been to many live games this year. The atmosphere was electric, and I was impressed by the stadium as well as the Hibs fans. Even as the game ended and they were staying down, they were behind their team. Hearts are much closer to me, but I think I'll go back again next season.

As a side, Hibs had a solid defence and excellent midfield, but nothing up front. Stick a McDonald or Kenny Miller in their side and they could have challenged Hearts. Rangers were playing to kill the game and make it a 0-0, so hard to judge them, but they'll need a lot of work if they go up. Thought the ref should have done a lot more to keep the game flowing - the first yellow card was about an hour too late and then he couldn't keep it in his pocket when it barely mattered.

Going to be an interesting final, the press will hype up Rangers as the team everyone wants back into the top flight, then you head to the forums and the internet will make you aware than everyone wants Rangers to fail miserably.

Not sure whether Rangers will do it, on paper they should, quality wise they should, but form wise they are in torrid form, I was listening to Radio Scotland on Saturday with them claiming Rangers would be faves due to their recent good form..........play-off form which includes a defeat and a draw and just scraping through both games.....add that to their league form and they are not in any better position than Motherwell are

I am totally torn on this as an Alfreton fan. Manager Nicky Law has two sons. One Nicky players for Rangers and the other Josh for Motherwell and they both share the same apartment plus Nicky is joshs best man next week at his wedding!!

Difficult to call.

We've been hit and miss all season (understatement) but I think with McCall in charge we've gained a little bit of steel and discipline in the team, with the ability to grind out a result now. Vuckic is our only real quality player (thanks Mike Ashley) who can open teams up, apart from that we're still piss poor.

At the very least the momentum is with us now. I think we'll go through.

Rangers 0-3 Motherwell after 73 mins. Think that Rangers really need to score one if not two in the time left or it's all over.

Based on this result I guess its probably not good for Rangers if they go up!

They would hate to be hammered by Celtic!

Mid you Hibs were 2 up with the home leg 2nd last year...

Indeed, that was amazing what happened last year. I hope Motherwell can see the job through now though, my old dear is in a right mood with this result! :D

What a result for Motherwell, put themselves in a fantastic position for survival now. If Rangers fail to go up this season will be an absolute monumental failure, and the SPL will be just as one sided next season.

And all the better for it without that lot being in the league. No doubt they'll get back soon enough, but another season in the Championship for them will be fine for a lot of neutrals.
