In my defence, I did say 'potentially'. As Mark and others have said it's a bold statement and we will have to see. FWIW, I don't underestimate any team in the division but I do think Luke is destined for bigger things, maybe even the top table.

Darren Randolph has rejected our contract offer and has accepted a deal from an unnamed Premier League club.

Don't blame him, too good for Birmingham.. How we didn't score past him in the 0-0 at Molineux is beyond me.

Charlton are said to be in advanced talks with Nantes LW Vincent Bessat.

No great loss. I am sure GR will have a keeper lined up who's equal or better – plenty of decent ones out there.

We're supposed to be after Wes Foderingham from Swindon. Didn't have the greatest of games yesterday :L

To be fair you're linked with Jacques Maghoma and Gary Madine, says what sort of market you're looking at.

Any Blackburn fans around? SSN linking us with Josh King, who has apparently turned down a contract offer there.

He's fast but for a striker his scoring record is abysmal.

I saw this on Twitter. Know nothing about him, perhaps you could shed some light MM?

Nothing ground-breaking. Hard-worker and all but he's probably eager to take the next step and play in England (and earn more money).

Fair enough, cheers. Concerning that our first target is a LW, hope he's not a replacement for Gudmundsson and just a back-up.

The Bristol Post believe that we've made Newport aware of our interest of 16 year old Regan Poole, and are set to be in competition with United, Liverpool, Cardiff and Fulham for his signature.

Interesting.

Few rumours at Reading in last few days:

Adam Federici to Bournemouth (free) - Early signs but local media reckon it's a go-er. Not that surprised he's leaving, hopefully gets the PL first team football he deserves.
Alex Pearce to Leeds (free) - Might just be paper talk as they signed our former head scout, but if he does leave Leeds is about the right level. Out of our out of contract players possibly the easiest to replace ability wise.
Tarique Fosu to Newcastle/Villa (£1m+?) - Rumour came out yesterday. Does give some light into a tweet he sent a few days ago. Would still be shocked (and annoyed) as he only made his debut on the last day of the season. 19 year old winger.

Alex Pearce has been at Reading for years hasn't he, through the youth? Would seem odd to let him go now?

As for Federici, we do need a keeper and looking at some of the best championship players would fit with our likely recruitment policy. But we assume we're going to sign Boruc...maybe we're looking at alternative options?

Yep, Alex Pearce has been with us since the age of 12. Current vice captain. Possibly the definition of average Championship centre back. Most Reading fans would be gutted he's leaving given his passion for the club, but ability wise it shouldn't be too difficult to replace him.

Adam Federici also been with us 10 years now. Just passed 30 so should be in line for a big move soon really. He wants to be Australia's keeper at the next World Cup so will need to be first choice, ideally in the PL, to achieve that.

Both going on frees, both because we can't afford their wages. Totally guessing here but i'd imagine they are on 15k and 20k a week respectively and we'll be trying to get them to half that amount. Difficult considering they are key players for us. Bournemouth could easily outspend us on wages given the PL money. Would be surprised with Leeds outbidding us on Pearce unless there are other reasons behind a move.

We've just signed Artur Boruc permanently so I doubt we're after Federici :)

Would be pissed off if we got rid of Fosu.Still think Federici and Karacan will sign a new deal.

That Bournemouth news makes it far more likely. Was the only PL club I thought he would move to. In the Championship I reckon only Hull, Fulham and Burnley could realistically afford to go in for him and beat us to.

My only fear now is that he didn't get picked for the Aussie squad for their friendlies coming up. So he may see it as if he stays here he won't get in their squad. And he wants to be first choice for them, not just squad.

West Ham and Leeds have both shown interest in Daniel Bentley and we are 'in competition' with them to get his signature.

We seem to be going for a more British approach this year thankfully with behind the scenes appointments with lots of experience in the English game. Hopefully we sign Sol Bamba up even though he spoke out against Cellino recently.

Most recent rumours include Daniel Bentley from Southend, Chris McCann from Wigan and a few murmurs about being in contact with Beckford's people but think it'd be best for him to stay at PNE.

Some reckon he's had it this afternoon, transfer to be confirmed tomorrow. Three year deal.

Big big loss.

We now have no keepers other than one was on loan at Basingstoke last season, and probably sixth on the pecking order last Summer.

We must have a replacement lined up because it would be a bit odd to get rid of both our keepers especially as Anderson said he wanted more playing time.
