I'm just posting a rumour. Like 99% of rumours, it will probably not come to anything. Is he out of contract though? Because we'd probably be able to match most sides (except the daft overspends at some clubs). I don't really know anything about him, so will just have to wait and see.

EDIT: And as if to confirm the silly season that is Tranmere Rovers transfer rumours, it's now being suggested on our board, Luton's board and twitter that it could be Steve McNulty. So probably neither now!!

Moult signed up for another year and seems really happy playing for us.
You could tempt him off us, but he'd cost you. Connor Jennings signing for you would be more likely.

With Moult gone I'm hearing Mills has sounded out Messi as a potential replacement. He says Barcelona base their style of play on his philosophy anyway so it should be a seamless transition.

I'd love Askey to be whispering sweet nothings in Jennings ear to get him back to the Moss.

I personally wouldn't be shocked if he ended up back with you, wasn't happy playing on the wing

Should never be out wide, needs to be involved thru the middle. Seemed to play through the middle against us every time this season, no surprise he ended up finding the net against us more than once.

When played in the middle he tended to be a threat or score, Personally hope he stays but with Mills playing 4-3-3 with 2 wide forwards Moult will most likely be 1st choice, Connor might not get too much of a chance unfortunately

Sounds like its best for all parties if you just withdraw your contract offer then and send him back to East Cheshire!

Mills today: “I am very positive with Connor, I don’t see that being a problem and he is going to be with us next season". I think he said similar stuff regarding Jay Harris though so you never know.

I think Jennings is waiting for a while to see what else is out there and I don't think he is short of offers, still a highly rated player by managers in this league. I've always been 50/50 regarding Jennings, he's not in Moult's class so he isn't going to play centre forward. He would have to adapt his game to play as a wide striker and I could see him leaving for a top end club in this league where he can be assured of being in the position he wants.

As mentioned by another Bee on another thread, Official Barnet Twitter has started following Ben Tomlinson. Make of that what you will

You could do a lot worse. Gave 100% and leading scorer for two seasons here. Most Imps sad to see him go, whether he was offered a contract or he was keeping his options open, we will mis him. Quite glad if he went to Barnet actually, would mean we wouldn't be facing him next season!

Wouldn't be a massive surprise because Simpson is big mates with Allen and the former probably put a good word in for him.

If true, pleased he's got another crack at the FL but I'm not sure he'll be that successful in making the step up. Hope he is a success, mind.

Put this in the L2 forum, but I'll post it here, too:

Good luck to him. Gary Simpson's good mates with Allen so he's probably had a word.

Can't argue with 40 odd goals (including cup) in two seasons with us. I'm not entirely sure he'll be able to make the step up tbh. Tried with Macclesfield, albeit a 5(?) years ago, and I don't think it went particularly great.

His main attribute is his work-rate, but in my opinion that's not enough in L2. He mainly played on the left or right of a front three here and he wasn't someone who'd take men on like a typical winger and wouldn't really play like you'd expect a striker to do down the middle when he got the chance there. He might be slightly more comfortable up front in a two but certainly not an out and out winger in a 4-4-2 or anything.

Most of his goals come in patches rather than consistently over the course of the season and are generally from in and around the penalty spot/ 6 yard box (in fact, I think last season, and possibly the season before, he had scored the most goals from inside the 6 yard box in the Conference.). In that respect, he was a bit like Kevin Nolan and wait for anything to drop for him from set pieces. He'll never let you down - keeps going and never hides during games.

Hope I'm wrong and he does well, though. We were all disappointed to see him leave here. Did a lot for the mascots/family/community side of things, too.

He looked good for Tamworth at Conference level a couple of seasons ago.

I'm far from convinced personally as I think we can do much better.

Not going for Sam Russell is a weird move for any Conference club with a top half budget who are in the market for a keeper. Proven to be, and still is, one of the best in the division.

I still live in hope that once Trev Carson leaves we'll be in for Russell.

If you can come up with a suitable offer I reckon Sam Russell would jump at the chance of signing for you, he has publicly stated that he loves living in Gloucestershire...a move to Cheltenham would keep him here!

Magnay says he has been offered more money at FL clubs than GTFC can offer, despite us offering him an improved contract, and chances of him staying are 50-50 biggest concerns are location and length of contract. Can't blame if he goes, got to look after number one and location is obviously an issue as is security.

Also strong rumours Pearson is going to Barnsley. Humberside says one player has left today (not Magnay) seems its Pearson, again good luck to him, deserves league football, though I think league 1 maybe a step to far at this stage.

Big blow if we lose both those, but all players are replaceable, especially in defence which is Hurst's strength.

Congratulations to Eastleigh as well. To get into the play offs in your debut season is a great achievement.

Like others have said, the embarrassing pitch invasion has threatened to take some of the gloss off what was (after the first 30 minutes) a thoroughly professional and well-deserved victory. That first goal was always going to be massive. With a bit of brilliance, Ollie Palmer provided it. I was right behind it, just to the side of the goal and it was an inch-perfect finish. I have to admit when the Shop was through on goal I didn't have the most confidence he would score but it was a cool finish. Didn't see the third from the other end.

I thought our fans were very nervous until the first goal went in which was frustrating for me, trying to get chants going. After the first goal though we made a fair bit of noise. A word on Eastleigh's fans. I don't know if it came across on telly but they gave their team great backing, especially in the second half. Bloody annoying though that one chant!

Looking forward to Wembley. I'd say Bristol Rovers start as favourites but we can do it, no doubt about that.

Said he was desperate to sign for us last season and was one of the lowest paid players at the club. Only the apprentices lower than him, apparently. Car shared with Ross Hannah, Paddy McLaughin and Andrew Parslow and that's a huge issue by the sounds of it. The wage offered by us is improved, but he wants some extras added into our offer. Sounds like he wants a car and some petrol incentives thrown in there. Been offered more money by other clubs and says he'll make a decision this week.

Will be gutted to lose him and Pearson, but as Frealaf says they have to look after number one. Pearson looks like he is almost definitely moving on to a better division and he fully deserves it. Really hope Magnay doesn't go to a club in this division, though.

At least two new ones for us today apparently.

Bradley Wood is, and has been, mentioned too many times for it not to happen at some point IMO.

The current rumours doing the rounds for us, some of them most likely plucked from thin air, some of them slightly more plausible.

Steve McNulty from Luton
Lennell John-Lewis and Aristote Nsiala from Grimsby
Sam Russell from FGR
Andy Bishop from Wrexham

There's also someone who's normally spot on with his information who's said we'll be signing someone from Grimsby by the end of this week but wasn't able to confirm whether it was either of the two mentioned above.

It wouldn't be a shock to see you sign any player though.

But it will still bug and annoy you when its announced, because we are not a real club, and you all are, apparently. Yeh strange eh, apparently having 7 years of history, makes the likes of Halifax a real club.
