Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Glad to see this thread revived.

The Mist is very mainstream, quite like it and it's been on Sky Horror before.

Watched The Devils Rock yesterday which was pretty poor in the Nazi horror film stakes, a hotly contested category.

The mist has one of the grimmest endings in history.

Recently watched Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (2014). They've done it to death now, it's a series not without its merits but they need to stop. Roxanne Pallett in borderline porn scene is never a bad thing though.

I quite liked the first one and the second was alright, but the rest are seriously naff.

Recently watched.

Ouija (2014)
Didn't particularly like it. Not creepy, scary or even jumpy. Grossed over $100million at the box office, God only knows how. 2/10

Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead (2014)
Zombies in the Outback type dealy complete with mad scientist, sadistic military folk and hot bird who can psychically control aforementioned zombies. 8/10

The Hole
I watched The Holy two nights ago. Passable PG-13 horror. Nothing special. 6/10.

Actually, fuck it. Dracula 3000 is on Netflix. A Dracula film set in space, let's fucking do this.

(It's gonna be shit, isn't it?)

I somehow just sat through The Human Centipede 3: Final Sequence. It's fucking garbage, like nothing I've ever seen and Cas will agree that I like some absolute pap. To be fair the whole series is pretty naff but I quite enjoyed Full Sequence, I thought the cinematography was pretty good and it had some gloriously horrific scenes. Final Sequence failed to deliver on any of it, it's like Tom Six wanted to direct something grim but instead got caught in two minds and decided to be a complete fanny about it instead. The bloke who played William Boss spends the whole film pretty much shouting some inaudible jargon that not even subtitles could fix.

If you've seen the first two, you may as well watch this one just to finish the set. Just expect some real, real garbage. 3/10.

Never seen any of them personally. My sister watched the first one and her just describing it to me put me off my bangers and mash that day.

Must be on Amazon, can't find it on Netflix :(

Do the free trial thingy.

People here seen The Babadook? I thought it was pretty decent. It's a film that's deeper than it appears at first glance. I'd recommend it. I think it's on Netflix

Craig, I recently tried the free trial so I can't now obviously.

Wasn't keen on the Babadook. Found it to rather dull.

I enjoyed it, others didn't. Aussie horror scene is looking alright at the minute.

Do the free trial thingy.

The first one is incredibly tame, the second one however (especially if you see the uncut version) you cannot unsee. Martin was a brilliant villain to be fair.

I thought The Babadook was actually pretty good, thought it delivered quite well. I had to think about it a bit at the end and I came to the conclusion that
The Babadook is a metaphor for her mental state, the crazy psycho bitch finally got to grips with her emotions so when she tells the Babadook to fuck off she's literally taking control of her life.

Yeah the whole thing is basically in her head. After the death of her husband she couldn't cope with the grief and created this manifestation in her head of 'the babadook'. It's mentioned in the film she's a childrens book author/illustrator, and after she burns the book and it 'comes back', she goes to the police station and it's noticeable her hands are covered in black chalk, where she re-wrote the book. At the end when the 'monster' is locked in the basement, it's basically saying that she will never be really rid of the grief of losing her husband, but has learnt to cope with it and partition it off in her head. The kid has probably turned out a bit weird because his mum is a nutter, but is otherwise a normal lad. When you look at the film like that it puts a whole other spin on it and makes you appreciate it more. I really enjoyed it. I just KNEW that Cas wouldn't like it

It was evidently a psychological horror from early on in the film.

How'd you know I wouldn't like it?

Oh, think I've found something decent on Netflix: Black Sabbath. Anthology horror with Boris Karloff. Seems like it could be decent.

The first two I believe are available on Netflix, the third I had to torrent. If you go to movietube.cc you'll find some decent streams of the first two if Netflix fails.

I liked the Babadook. It wasn't particularly scary but it kept me hooked throughout.

As I'm off work following my op, I've been working through my horror collection. Watched Insidious 1 and 2 (will watch the 3rd when I'm more up to it).

Also, watched the Conjuring again which remains excellent and I've just watched Annabelle for the first time which was very underwhelming. The doll barely did anything in the entire film. It was ultimately just a prop for another demon movie. And I found the part of the black woman ridiculous as well.

Watched Untraceable last night. More of a thriller than a horror although it has horror themes. I quite liked it. An interesting view on society.

Going to work my way through Jessabelle (expecting an average film), Apartment 143 and Case 39 over the next few days.

Yeah, Annabelle was very shit. Not a scratch on The Conjuring, which despite being a standard old haunted house story relying on cheap 'jumps' managed to do it really well and was a top notch horror.

'It Follows' is another recent one I'd recommend
