I think you are easily bigger than Fulham, they are L2 level. Probably bigger than QPR too. I'd say similar to Reading but just smaller than Cardiff

Maybe but that famous word ' Prem ' is something we haven't achieved. The last time we were in the top flight was 1980!

For 24 clubs, it's not possible to determine a list as I wouldn't have an educated purpose for positioning each club.

However, I would say that Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds are the biggest and MK Dons and Brentford are the smallest clubs.

At an assumed guess, I'd put us in the bottom half.

Fulham are a weird one, they were really small in the 90s, but at every other part of their history they've been at least a mid table Championship club. Their average attendances over their entire history is over 16k - Which would easily put them top 10 of clubs in this division. A decent amount of top tier/Prem time too.

Don't think they are anywhere near the bottom third of club sizes in this division tbh. Bigger than MK Dons, Rotherham, Brentford, Reading, Brighton, Huddersfield definitely.

I think Fulham are bigger than us. 25 years in the top flight, also spent far more time in the second tier and a lot less in the 3rd tier, UEFA cup final, probably had the bigger crowds if you remove the 90's

I don't think it's as clear cut as you make out. Brentford are historically pretty similar to us.

Ok we were better than them up to the 60s, but since then other than another spell in the second tier for is it's pretty similar. Attendance-wise, again very similar if you look at our Millmoor days (discount both Don Valley and NYS if you want a proper comparison).

And don't discount the London club factor. Their crowds have doubled from 5,000 to 10,000 in a year just from being a league above. You've got an enormous amount of people that would want to see good standard football (2nd tier) at an affordable price (unlike the Prem).

What mainly swings it in our favour for me is more seasons in the second tier and our history (first ever league cup finalists, black footballer, only ever Kop Choir Champions).

We're a more recognisable name and we've achieved more.

BTW Gerry gow probably IMHO the most influential player to put on a millers shirt. Signed by Emlyn Hughes in 82, we were 3rd bottom end of jan in old lg2 .. Current Championship .. 1 month and 9 wins on the trot later we were 3rd from top. He was the steel needed in a skillful but easily pushed over team that had been promoted from 3rd div previous year. He was the enforcer, Hard as nails but had a measure of skill and quality too that I think he was never recognized for. Sent off in his home debut against derby in first few mins for a horrendous tackle, the opposition took note, not to be messed with. A great signing by Emlyn . I don't remember too much from them days being 18 ish and discovering beer but I do remember Gerry.

Wolves by an absolute distance. They cant even fill a 27000 seated stadium for any match in the premier league.

Hold hard. I thought I'd seen Johnny Haynes play. Yes, I have the progamme. 1969/70 Div 3 Barrow 3 - 1 Fulham. Barrow relegated, Fulham finished 4th behind Orient, Luton and Bristol Rovers.

I didn't know Gerry played for you TBH.
We had the best of GG in the late 70's before he went to Man City, he was awsome then and is still held in very high esteem by City fans and moved back to Bristol when his playing days ended.
I believe he has just become a great grandad.

Think Norwich and Southampton did it from L1 to the Prem a couple of seasons ago

Don't get me wrong, I love Clough, but for me are Forest a big club because they won two European cups? or did the genius of Clough win them? For me all there success is linked to one anomaly of a manager rather than something the club achieved through being a successful club for a sustained period under different managers, I don't think I have explained that very well and this isn't a wind up, but I know nothing about them pre Clough, and you have been pretty mundane for most of my lifetime. I remember your great season after you stormed into the prem, didn't you finish 3rd right off the bat with Collymore? (Was that Frank Clarke in charge?) but other than that you have been a bit middling would be my impression without looking it up. I remember the cup final obviously, when Corby legend Lee Glover pushed down part of the wall for Pearce's freekick.

Most people seem to have gotten their lists pretty much fine to me, Wolves are quite lucky in that we seem to have a fairly loyal catchment area, and then you have a lot of people like myself that support the team despite not being from the area for various reasons. I seem to meet one or two Wolves fans pretty much everywhere I have been or lived.

agree with, both have spent the majority of their history in the lower divisions being watched by less than 10,000 attendances.
Yes, we haven't the greatest of histories, but unless i'm mistaken we've played in the top flight for longer (obviouly pre premier league).

Until 15 years ago Cardiff spent most the time In the bottom division getting low attendances. The last 15 years though they have been ahead of us though as much as it pains me to say it.
Would say we are on a par.
