"Difference in perspective".

i.e. they wanted to talk things over, he wanted to take it outside.

"Leicester: "Regrettably the club believes that the working relationship between Nigel and the board is no longer viable."

The "difference in perspective" quote in the statement makes it sound like the owners want to push on into the top half and qualify for Europe, and one can only assume Pearson thought that was unachievable.

You're right, the statement in general sounds like typical owners who smell a bit of success. They want to spend big money on mediocre players in an attempt to get into European football and often this strategy often falls flat on its arse. Pearson evidently trusted the lot who kept them up + some additions, and rightly so.

Why do owners have to get involved all the time? Leave the manager to do his thing, especially if its working!

Would agree with the above as well. While Pearson became a figure of fun, for all those critical of his first half season credit has to be given to him for that - quite incredible - season-ending run.

We fucked up before when we forced him out and he went to Hull. Then he comes back, gets promotion, pulls off the greatest of escapes and shows that the side he's built is well capable of holding it's own in the prem, then gets the boot.
It's got to be something to do with his lad. There's an argument that despite that great run of form at the end of the season, that was preceded by an absolutely woeful points haul for the majority of the matches, but we were never outplayed all season and played well in most games. But the fear of a repeat of the bad start without the great finish is the only matter on the pitch that could put the fear in them to question his ability. But that's pretty far fetched for me, it's got to boil down to there being a bit of bad blood about his sons situation and things boiling over into other matters.
Who now then? The most obvious answer is a slightly tubby former premier league manager who was unceremoniously given the boot by his club just a month ago after many people had thought he'd done a decent job overall.

Welcome to Leicester Carlo Ancelotti!

Strange decision, Pearson has done a fantastic job at Leicester so it's got to have something to do with the orgy his son had with the Thai prostitutes the other week. I'd love him at Hillsborough but can't see him working under our new foreign regime and way of working where the manager doesn't buy the players.

Big Sam would be a perfect fit for his replacement in my opinion, he'll take on the solid foundation left and progress it.

I don't want Big Sam tbh. While I think he's a decent manager and a safe pair of hands, his brand of football is largely dull. Pearson had us playing good football for the most part and that's with transitioning from 4 to 3 at the back during the season. I'm sure Fat Samuel will be interested though, but how is he going to get in ahead of the likes of Klopp and Ancelotti? He'll have his work cut out in that interview!

Hmmm after the interest in Newcastle.... Vieira?

Thought it was strange when I heard but I guess he didn't take the stuff with his son too well. He comes across as someone who is quite stubborn and set in his ways, and with the rumours last season about him being sacked and reinstated it seems as though this was going to happen at some point. He'll get another job elsewhere after a while

Has Neil Lennon been linked?

I'm sure 'Arry is licking his lips at this one right?

On the topic at hand, no shocked to see him go at all given some of the stuff that has gone down recently. I can only assume some of the stuff mentioned is just smoke and mirrors anyway.

Gutted he's gone, purely for the value he brings to the media - his interviews are gold (even if he is an arsehole) in a time when a fair few managers are far too media trained.

Allardyce is their man, he'll no doubt keep them up but with the most boring football possible.

Not sure how Cotterill's odds got that low considering he's been at City's first day back today and would be a left field choice, but either way hands off.

Strange decision. I thought he was a bit of a tosser personally, but he did well over the last couple of seasons.

Esteban Cambiasso at 6/1!

Also Big Guus at 6/1. RDM wouldn't surprise me.

do you think the club probably made a good decision switching him out for Poch and then getting Koeman?

Well yes the answer is obvious. Ronald Koeman is one of the best manager's Southampton has had. Nigel Adkins was great though, a great personality and built up a relationship with the fans. But like with many players that I miss from our League 1/Championship days we outgrew them, unfortuantely.

Will believe it when I see it, but a bloke called Preki (who played for Everton, I'm informed) is apparently replacing Pearson. Not good enough for MLS but prospered in the third tier of US football.

The fact that Sacremento have replaced Preki with Paul Buckle would be extremely worrying for me if I was a Leicester fan.

Blimey, there's a name I hadn't heard in a long, long time. Cult hero for Everton, iirc. Predrag Radosavajevic or similar.

Apparently the strong rumours are that he's left his post for a job in England but also that the job is likely a 'technical' or coaching role rather than managerial.

Well with all his managerial experience I'm sure it'd be a great appointment.
