We have signed Tom Elliott and Karleigh Osbourne. Cambridge fans any opinions. I might have to go else where to ask millwall and Bristol city about Osbourne

Osborne was superb for us in L1 the season before last. Got a nasty shin injury on a pre-season tour which put him out for the start of the season, otherwise he'd have likely played for us for the majority of the season, but after that struggled to break through into a solid back 3, and ended up on loan at Colchester.

He'll be superb in L2.

I really rated Elliott but we didn't play to his strengths for most of the last two seasons, there's no-one better at attacking the ball aerially inside the 18 yard box in this division IMO, all but one of his goals last season were scored that way. The biggest problem is that he's fragile and is always getting injured, if he stays fit and you cross the ball with relative frequency he'll get 15 goals.

Tom Elliott had a 50/50 split with Cambridge fans. Great guy but very lazy, doesn't score enough goals but is great at holding the ball up. I can't imagine you'll be chasing defenders down with him and the beast up top.

Ryan Clarke has left Oxford by mutual consent. Expecting him to sign for us shortly. Good keeper at this level.

We're signing Sam Beasant as our no.2 keeper today apparently. Thoughts Stevenage fans?

We've got Will Hoskins and Alex Fisher on trial with us.

I know about Hoskins but nothing about Fisher. Stats don't look great. Mansfield fans?

Tom Elliot put in one of the best performances at Sixfields last season. Him and Bayo will certainly bully a few defenders this season!

We have as expected signed Ryan Clarke on a 2 year deal. Happy with that, reliable keeper at this level and Oxford fans always seem to rate him.

Inclined to say Montano definitely deserves another chance in the FL and I am glad we have given it to him.

He is clearly a talented player and although he appears to have got caught up in a couple of unsavoury incidents (to say the least), there was no proof he did anything wrong. Thus, he's innocent, right?

We needed a couple of wingers and we now have one - a good one - so it's another piece of pleasing transfer business in my opinion.

Based on what I saw of him he wasn't good enough to be a regular starter at this level. I just didn't have confidence in him whatsoever, he'd come off his line on a regular basis and more often than not cause more problems than he solved, it didn't help we conceded a couple of very questionable goals during his breif spell as number one either.

Oddly enough, his best two performances were probably in his last two appearances for club, he was dropped after our defeat at Bury and he didn't feature at all after that. Wouldn't have been opposed to him staying as a number two keeper providing he wasn't needed all too often!

Tom Elliott always seems to give us issues when he plays against us, just an awkward sort of striker to play against, challenges everything with the centre half. Having said that, some Cambridge supporting family members really, really didn't rate the guy so seems the sort who splits opinion.

Jon Stead signs. Jenner will sign when we've decided that he's fit enough.

Jon Stead is a cracking signing at this level. Assumed he would of signed for Bradford permanently. What sort of wedge is he rumoured to be on?

That's a great signing, amazed he's dropped down to League 2. What will this mean for the goal machine Spencer?

How have you pulled that off?

He'll be superb in L2, another player that I rate very highly from his time at City in the Championship. Still got plenty left in him.

Will probably play deeper like he did at the end of last season. Although that'd mean we have a good central midfielder too many, a nice problem to have anyway although we desperately need more out wide and at the back. A good start, though.

Three Dutch players are having medicals with us tomorrow, apparently. One will be Julian Jenner, the other two could be anyone. We've got Frank Demouge on trial, but he's another big striker and we've just signed Stead, and Stanley Aborah (ex Ajax and Gillingham, bizarrely) is training with us as well. Think we've got a couple of goalkeepers too, so will probably be one of those as cover.

Agree Fisher's record makes Cummins look good.

Hoskins has to be worth a look. If he stays fit he will score goals.

Aborah is Ghanaian-Belgian and we've got that ex-Spurs youngster...can't be arsed to look up his name. Jenner is obviously one, signing Demouge would be weird now we have Jimmy and Jonny. Hoping one is a defender and as you said, we need a back-up keeper for Big Roy.

Hoskins was a class player for us (wait I assume this is Will?) at the level above, just not sure he's the same since his injury.

I wonder how much he would cost us? He has his price tag on his shirt but I can't quite read it.

He's OOC at the end of this season anyway, so if he's that impressive you can snap him up on a Pre-Contract in January.

It's Slater, though - playing for Ajax is probably enough to make him Dutch. Kudus Oyenuga, very much not Dutch. Sounds like more of your usual trialists who'll disappear after twenty minutes against Arnold Town next week tbh.

Portsmouth fans, what can we expect from Dan Butler?

I think he could do well for you, he made far too many mistakes for us last season but he was playing ahead of Nicky legs gone Shorey for most the season so he isn't too bad. His passing accuracy is dreadful though and he doesn't take anyone on.
