If Luton get Danny Green, thats another excellent addition - He will just need to prove his fitness, been injured alot the last 18 months.

Was excellent whever I saw him play for Dagenham.
Best player I've seen in our shirt I think. Was better for us than Gayle was for sure. Amazed he's back in L2

I've pretty much only seen positive comments about him from fans of Charlton and the Franchise too, which is pretty rare for as usually any player you sign comes with shit reviews from ex-clubs. Hopefully that's a good sign if indeed he does end up here.

We're taking Ilkeston captain David Morgan on trial next week, along with half of Romania.

Moniz has also had a go at the agents of some of the Dutch players he hasn't managed to sign. These players "do not recognise our good philosophy" and agents should "only be here for paperwork". :bdick:

Morgan isn't League 2 standard I don't think, I like him - tidy player and can score the odd goal from distance but his all-round game ain't up to scratch. Chettle is pretty much Ilkeston's only remaining asset, on trial at QPR bizarrely though.

No idea how many more players we're going to sign but sounds like Trew's money left aside. Assuming Daniels, Wroe, Hayhurst and Cranston have no part in our plans...offloading them is another matter of course - our squad will stand at 19 after Snijders, Jenner and De Silva sign. That's excluding the 3 first year pros too; Richards, Sarpong and Bishop. We also only have one keeper, so add in a spot for a back-up keeper and we're at 24 (again, excluding the first years, Sarpong and Richards are meant to be fairly raw talents) with as far as I can see, no right-back. Seems quite precarious to me considering they said they wanted a maximum squad size of 25 + maybe the odd short-term loanee as part of this new partnership with Liverpool. It's really important we move a few on now I reckon.

As expected Sam Beasant has signed on a 1 year deal that will allow Will Norris to go out on loan to a conf prem club to gain some experience.

Beasant is just a pawn for getting Norris some gametime, don't expect him to be here at the start of the season after this one. At least 1 if not 2 seasons too late getting Norris out on loan IMO (although he's still young for a goalkeeper so can be easily overcome), but a very sensible and necessary move. Dunn will be #1 which isn't ideal but isn't a complete disaster either, he's a mid-table standard keeper who will have as many great games as he does shockers, but as long as the back 4 live up to their hype then we should be OK in the long run.

Sure I read Cranston intends to fight for his spot.mfrom that I read he's on a decent wedge and doesn't want to lose it.

Bit embarrassing that we only signed Daniels and Hayhurst little over six months ago and are desperate to move them on

Different manager, though, isn't it - hardly surprising Moniz doesn't rate players who didn't get into Derry's clusterfuck of a squad.

I don't mind Hayhurst and think Wroe got a raw deal, but it's clear we no longer have space for them. Cranston I like but is completely unnecessary with Adams in the squad. I've literally never seen Daniels play on the basis I missed the Crewe match, so...

Not heard much of Richards, where does he play?

Morgan didn't look anything like L2 standard when we had him on loan, although that was 2 or 3 years back.

Prone to snapping a player in half as well. Just launched himself into tackles he had no need to.

Someone posted the same thing on Outlaws early this morning, claiming there was a fee of £50k involved and that we would announce the signing of Danny Green at the same time.

The poster had no previous ITK track record that I've seen though, so I wouldn't bank on it just yet. Quite possible he picked it up from your forum.

Greg Taylor is just the kind of full back (great at CB or in midfield) that you need. He must be worth £40k. How about a trade?

We are still very light on numbers. Expect Wilder to have some trialists at Sileby and our Sussex Tour.
Reckon we are due at least 2 strikers, left sided centre back and another central midfielder.

I think his plans are hampered until he off loads JJOT.

Been there, done that so no thanks! I actually quite liked GT when he was here, he was harshly treated by Buckle I felt. But then John Still came in and signed Scott Griffiths and I remembered what a proper left back looked like...

Think it's a bit petty honestly.

Like what I've heard of Green, seems a classy player and someone who can take a set piece, so we've got players who should provide chances, just need someone to put them away now and I'll be happy with our summer dealings.

Could do with a few going out the other way though, like Howells, Drury et Al.

Green is a great signing if you can get him properly fit again. Much, much better player than McCourt.

Gutted to see Green play in League 2 against us. One of the most exciting players we've ever had. He did have his off days but when he was on song he was far too good for this league.

If Luton don't go up this year, they'd have failed pretty miserably.

So how many ex-Daggers at Luton now?

Green, Benson, Griffiths, Wilkinson, Magnus, Hall (only on loan mind), any more?

Loving the number of clips that show him pinging a ball on to Paul Benson's head. Hopefully they'll rekindle a bit of that connection. Benno had an awful season last time around for various reasons and he's obviously not the player he once was, but he (like all our strikers) had zero service all season. Hopefully that will change now.

Krystian Pearce is playing for Mansfield against Rainworth apparently. I remember when he was good, shame the head injury and then that nasty health issue (heart wasn't it?) fucked his career over.

He was brilliant for us on loan a few seasons back. Last season for Torquay he was shocking. Looked like he was playing at about 50%

Yeah he's been through a lot, shame really because he was always talented. His only real flaw was that his concentration wasn't very good and he'd switch off and commit an error a bit too often. That head injury after clashing heads with Balotelli massively dented his confidence and then he's had mystery illnesses and health scares whilst at Torquay, not the same player anymore.

Frankly I'm surprised we're still 18/1 and seventh favourites for the title, with all the quality signings we've made *
