March in my 3rd season with Liverpool. Only a couple of points separate Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool in the PL. Lost in the semi's of the FA Cup, won the Carling Cup, QF's of the CL.

Tried to keep a core of home-grown players (Wisdom, Flanagan, Sturridge, Sterling, Henderson, Allen, Borini(!)) so I haven't bought too many players.

Flanagan's surprised me and developed into a really good RB. Sterling's got potential but I can't given him enough game time and I re-trained Coutinho as a CM because I don't play with one 'in behind' and he's come on leaps and bounds.

Anyone know what the ground expansion ends up going up to? Gone to 52k with another two years of work to go.

Won the PL and Carling Cup in the end.

Going into the final game there was me, City and Chelsea on level points but my GD was 6 better than 2nd and 4 better than 3rd. Won my game comfortably 4-0 but Man City drew anyway.

Got spanked 3-0 by Madrid in the CL semi 2nd leg after a 1-1 draw at home.

This particular game shows that you don't need great players to be decent and a solid tactic will suffice (admittedly having Sturridge and Balotelli from the start helps). As the above post, I've purposefully kept a British core although through choice I'd probably only keep 3 of the 7. Sakho and Lovren aren't great from an attribute point of view and neither is Moreno, Allen and others.

Going to go on an U18 shopping spree this summer to try and train up some good HG players I think and look to replace some of the non-HG players with better ones.

Had a season and a half at Preston, got them to 10th in the Championship, then left them around 5th place in Jan 2016 when West Ham came calliing.

Didn't realise that Cresswell had been sold in the summer but I immediately put my stamp on the team. Sakho, Zarate, and Vargas, all gone for a combined 38 million, and replaced by just Icardi for 4 million (only had room for 2 strikers, Valencia and Icardi). Rotariu also couldn't play until next season as I didn't realise he'd played for two teams already. Also got Kranevitter for a steal too.

Anyway I ended up finishing 10th in the table, having come in when they were 16th. Think I beat the eventual Champions, Liverpool, 4-0 at home, along with 1-0 wins over Man Utd and Chelsea. Came to the summer with Valencia and Onazi wanting to join Champions League teams, Boateng, Carroll and Kouyate were unsettled, and Icardi was a flop. Adrian was 2nd choice when Ulreich became available for so cheap, whereas Jarvis and Amalfitano were merely no use anymore. Left me with a budget of around 60 million so I revitalised my team. Carlos is a project but is already a 4* and good enough for my first 11. Araujo is a sub striker and Maupay has gone out on loan. Cole is a backup to Fuchs, Kimmich and Paz both rotate in their positions. Think I might have a good season

4 weeks of the EIREpro Super League's pre season period is over - this was the final week in which the 8 franchises played their pre season exhibition games. All 8 of the teams are also continuing to build up their initial squads in preparation for the when the Super League kicks off it's first ever season.

A good follow-up season. We got a tough draw in the Champions League 2nd Qualifying Round in the shape of Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus. We won the first leg 2-1 in front of just under 10,000 people at Windsor Park. From there we dropped into the Europa League Playoff Round. A good money-spinning draw in the form of Spurs. They hammered us 6-1 at Windsor in front of just under 12,000. But we improved in the return, going down just 3-1 at White Hart Line.

Surprisingly, Ballymena turned out to be our main challengers in the league. However, we wrapped up the title with a game to spare when we drew away at Ballymena in a match they needed to win to take things to the last day.

We also won the County Antrim Shield and Irish Cup (beating Glentoran and Ballymena on the way). Unfortunately we couldn't quite add the All-Ireland Cup to the list. Went out in the semis. Rested players in both legs so they'd be fresh for crucial league games in the run-in and got punished. Limerick hammered us 9-1 on aggregate.

All this meant we finished the season with a bank balance of more than £1m. We've been able to add 3 good players to the squad, shelling out around £100,000 in total. But it remains hard to attract anyone other than domestic players. The board haven't turned us full-time, nor have they sanctioned expanding the scouting network to the rest of the British Isles. And perhaps the biggest blow - playmaker and talisman Grant McCann has just retired.

It's going to be tough to make the breakthrough, I think. But let's see how we go.

Linfield 2016/17.

Well, we got a nightmare Champions League draw in the form of Ludogorets (they of playing Liverpool last season fame). We were well beaten at home in the first leg. My players were rusty and it showed. 4-2 to the away side. We then followed that up with an absolutely heroic effort in the away leg, winning 2-0 on the night, but unfortunately it wasn't enough and we crashed out.

I decided to spend money on as many of the best performing domestic players as I could. Some I got before the transfer deadline, others in January, with a couple more scheduled to come in at the end of the season.

Domestically we were dominant. Won the league by 12 points, Irish Cup, County Antrim Shield and the All-Ireland Cup.

Let's hope all the new players can help us make a little progress in the European qualifiers.

The EIREpro Super League has played out it's first 5 regular season rounds & Tralee Knights sit top of the table, having not lost a game so far. The national FAI Senior Cup first round has also been drawn, the competition does not feature Super League teams & offers PFL sides a chance to gain European qualification.

Taken over at Forest, expectations to reach the playoffs. £200k to spend and about £40k in wages (£347k total). Sadly, they've already spent £5.5m on Assombalonga and have a lop-sided (about 8 central midfielders, 4 very good centre backs, then a couple of wingers 3 full backs and barely a back up for Assombalonga - Fryatt? Blackstock?) constantly injured squad.

It's like Forest in real life. Good squad on paper, expect them to do well every season, the season starts well (we were top after 5 games, with 4 cleansheets) then Vaughan, Reid, Assombalonga and Wilson get injured, shortly followed by Grealish and Cohen, we lose 1-2 at home to Derby and that's it, the bottom has fallen out.

We're 18th in late October have just struggled to beat 22nd Cardiff and Blackburn by the odd goal who had 10 men. Next defeat will spell the end of me in charge. Matt Lowton and Jack Grealish came in on loan. Was close to loaning Wayne Routledge and Dwight Gayle but neither would join us despite the relative clubs accepting offers.

The EIREpro Super League reaches the 10th round of regular season play & the Tralee Knights lead the competition with a 4 point lead over the Limerick Strikers. The Dublin Sains, featuring Robbie Keane, are sitting at the wrong end of the table compared to pre season predictions.

The ipad version you can get FM Classic (as opposed to FM Handheld on mobile devices). Classic is a direct copy of the classic mode on PC versions so it is the full game (well, classic mode of the full game if you get what I am saying)

Linfield 2017/18.

Tough draw in the Champions League 2nd Qualifying Round in the shape of Cypriot champions, APOEL. We put in a brilliant performance in the first leg to win 2-0. In the away leg we were well and truly under the cosh. We were losing 2-0 after 90 minutes, so it went to extra time. APOEL scored what looked like the winner in the 116th minute. I chucked on my last sub and went all out attack in a desperate attempt to rescue the tie, which actually worked! Substitute Daniel Hughes tucked in a priceless away goal in the 117th minute and we held on to go through

We then got an impossible draw in the 3rd Qualifying Round in the shape of Celtic. We actually played okay at Parkhead but conceded two late goals to lose 4-0. A good effort back at Windsor saw us lose 3-2 having been in the lead early in the first half. So a 7-2 aggregate defeat. No disgrace in that.

We then dropped into the Europa League Playoff where, for the second time in three years, we were drawn against Spurs. This time we lost 6-1 at White Hart Lane and 1-0 at home, so 7-1 on aggregate. Not much change from the last time we played when we lost 9-2 on aggregate.

Domestically we won the league with three games to spare, as well as the County Antrim Shield and League Cup. We got knocked out in the semis of both the Irish Cup and All-Ireland Cup.

Some of the players I bought last summer have really improved and I'm hoping will continue to do so. Still not sure they're of a standard to help us go a round further in Europe, but we'll see.

At the end of the season we had over £1.5m in the bank, mainly thanks to having progressed through a round in Europe. I asked the board to turn us full-time, but they weren't having it. They don't think I've proved myself yet (4 straight league titles, a load of cups, and progress in Europe in 3 out of 4 seasons??). That said, they did agree to invest in our training and youth facilities, both of which are currently poor. That's costing £700,000, but considering I can't attract any expensive players anyway, I might as well use the excess cash for something.

One landmark signing agreed as the season ended - a very solid central midfielder from Cliftonville. I think I've been a bit overcharged at £160,000, but he'll improve us and we have the money. No-brainer.

Onwards.

Just keep plugging away mate, as Gulliball proved, you can take a team of little to no reputation to the summit of european football, though it will take you a while!

As San Marino I won Serie C/B and the Serie C cup and Serie C Super Cup in my first season, just using the loan players I had from my affiliate club Cesena. Season in Serie B started reasonable and was looking good for mid table obscurity before going on a 10 game unbeaten run with 8 wins, this left me well inside the 'potential' play off area Serie B has. I then lost 5-1 to the team that was bottom of the league only to beat one of the title contenders in my next game and then throw away a 3-0 half time lead to lose 5-3 in the game after that. A mediocre run of form followed by 4 straight wins has meant I could win the league, along with 3 other teams with just 1 game left.

The table going into the last game, as you can see, scoring goals isn't a problem, but conceding them has been, with my side conceding 5 goals in a match 3 times this season

Went 1-0 down in the first half and was going to finish 3rd, other results changed and I dropped to 4th and had a player sent off at the start of the second half. Changed to go on the counter attack and got an equaliser bringing me back to 2nd before taking the lead and going top in the 92nd minute. Conceded a goal in the 93rd minute and Cagliari scored a winner in their game so that even if I had won, 2nd was where I would finish. A mad final game of the season, but 2 straight promotions and a season in Serie A coming up. Expecting to struggle/go straight back down. Will need far better discipline next season as 99 yellow cards gets a lot of suspensions, 7 red cards with them don't help either.

Despite a treble (of sorts) in my first season and back to back promotions my contract is about to run out, during this time I have turned down every interview coming my way, including AC Milan, Inter (twice), Roma, Lazio and several lower Premier League clubs.
