Not see either. Might watch 'em both tbh.

I rate both, I believe The Beyond made it into a top 100 horror films of all time list, got some brilliant gore to it. As for The Burning, a rip off of Friday 13th, but the raft scene is brilliant. You're in for a treat. :)

Will be watching one of these tonight:

Deep Red (1975)
Nosferatu (1922)
Tales of Terror (1965)
The Burning (1981)
People Under The Stairs (1991)
The Uninvited (1944)

I've seen People Under The Stairs before but none of the others.

Also, just a quick post to say that the original My Bloody Valentine is so fucking underrated.

Deep Red! Do it!

Think I'm gonna watch Deep Red and The Burning. Recommended by you and Gilly. Better not disappoint! :p

Also reminded me that I need to watch Phenomina...Phenomona...that fucking film with the Iron Maiden music in it.

I love the Burning and its rip off of Friday the 13thness.

Been meaning to catch the uncut version of My Bloody Velentine for a while. I might track it down.

Recently watched...

Curse of Chucky.
I actually thought it was one of the better sequels to the Childs Play films, I like how they cut down on the comedy and made it a bit more serious (if they can do that with these films). 6.5/10.

Cujo
Seen it many times, it's nothing special but who doesn't like a film about a dog who turns into an absolute mental case? 6.5/10

Currently just started Odd Thomas. I'll report back once it's finished.

Curse of Chucky was alright. 6.5/10 is probably a fair score. Not seen Cujo though. Odd Thomas was alright if I remember correctly.

Nope. Only Argento films I've seen are Suspiria, Tenebrae and Trauma.

Funny, I havent seen any of those but have seen Deep Red, Phenomena and Bird With the Crystal Plumage. Thats good too, if a bit more thriller/ mystery with a bit of gore thrown in rather than pure horror.

All three are good but Suspiria is the standout. Very, very good. Give it a watch.

Wouldn't really call it horror, but it was under the horror category on Netflix so I'll count it. Thought it was quite good, mildly amusing and quite well acted. I'd watch it again without any fuss. A solid 7.

Insidious 3.

5/10
at best.

Not a lot goes on for the first 30-45 mins and then not a lot happens after that.

First one was okay (6/10), second one was clever with the integration from the first film. Explained a couple things, but wasn't all that good. 5/10 also.

Watched Sinister not too long ago, preferred that to Insidious. 7/10

I really liked Sinister, thought it was really well excecuted for the most part but I felt the ending was a let down. I'm not too sure how the sequel will hold up but I'll watch it.

I've just started watching The Burning. I'd forgotten how badly it's dated but it still ranks as a personal favourite slasher. The score is bang on with what's his face from Yes supplying the music and maestro Tom Savini supplying the gore effects add that to the terrible acting as you'd expect in the genre and you're just full of win.

Is horror the only genre where you can get away with it being awful but still good? Possibly action too, but its like horror has its own sub genre of terrible terrible stuff that is somehow still classic!

Without a doubt, some of my favourite flicks are pretty much diabolical in terms of genuine class. Sleepaway Camp is one series that springs to mind, absolutely awful but great fun.
