Only a few days away from the chance to put the Aussies back in their place haha. Bell is in the last chance saloon now, especially being moved up to bat at 3. I'd have stuck Root in at 3 as he's our best batsman at the moment.

Unless Cook is playing serious mind-games, he's a fool. Why would you request a green-top surface and then declare that if you'd have won the toss, you'd have batted first?

Although, I think this was probably a good toss to lose. Bowling first on this wicket with cloudy overhead conditions should be interesting this morning.

Great to see Bell back in some sort of fluid form, he looked really set, but that was a stupid shot to play against Lyon. Just nudge and nurdle against him and pick the 4 balls from the Aussie quick bowlers. Fear that may be a turning point in the innings when all is said and done.
