Well we got rid of Austin so we had to get Dallas in I suppose. Not sure any Houstons are knocking around!

If Cellino gets bored of Rosler you can go for Peter Houston, Falkirk's manager.

Jordan Pickford on a season long loan from Sunderland.

No return for Johnstone.

Relegate us now.

Pickford's pretty good, he's got all the attributes to be a top keeper. His shot stopping and his distribution are great. He just makes ridiculous fcking decisions coming for crosses that he can't reach and rushing out to mangle onrushing attackers every now and then.

They don't relax until next season.

It's still only a £2m loss allowed.
If you spread the transfer cost across the contract, which is what everyone will do, the limit for this season won't mean much.

Burnley FAIL to land Nathan Baker in a £2 million deal as the defender opts for a new FOUR-YEAR deal with Villa.

Talk of a possible loan deal but I'd prefer someone else in a permanent signing.

Apparently (according to Portuguese journalist on Twitter) we're close to signing Paolo Hurtado. Peruvian international winger, played in the Copa America.

Doesn't seem to have played too much of late though. 42 games for Pacos de Ferreira (Portugal) and 10 games for Penarol (Uruguay) in the past three seasons.

Quite keen on this, I have a soft spot for South American players.

You don't know whether they will score a banger from 40 yards, or jump into the crowd and assault a pensioner.

You sound surprised. Doesn't he have a hot Texan wife who wants to buy into the property market around Clitheroe way?

Not surprised but a bit relieved.:) A lot of Villa fans don't rate Baker and didn't he gift Wolves an equaliser a couple of days ago? I hope we sign someone less injury-prone and more robust for the slog which is the Championship,

Shackell still lives in Alderley Edge (Cheshire). Anyone signing for Burnley has plenty of options to live in the countryside and places like Lower Gornal and Dudley are not exactly upmarket for any players wanting to join Wolves. What's Bilston like these days and Cradley Heath?:)

The Black Country is very grim by and large.

I wouldn't call it the country side around Burnley. A worse smelling 18th century would be more accurate.

Most Burnley players live in the Manchester area/Cheshire/West Yorkshire.......Robbie Blake commuted from Harrogate.

Leeds is only 40 minutes drive.

I've never lived in the black country mate so wouldn't know. I have lived in Lancashire for most of my life though, and can safetly say Burnley is a hole. Full of bordered up terrace houses and cheap run down kebab shops. I think to live around the Duke bar / Stoops Estate area of town must be a worse experience than living in the Gaza strip. Full of 12 year old wannabe pikey chavs throwing stones at the elderly people.

Can't wait to sit in that shithole David Fishwick stand next season either. Big wooden pole right infront of my seat...

You must be a bit naive if you think Burnley's players live in the town centre itself.

I used to live in Sutton Coldfield - 8 miles north of Brum - and played a lot of cricket against teams in the Wolverhampton area and Black Country - very grim and bleak areas apart from a couple of exceptions like Wombourne and Fordhouses.

Where did I say the players live in the town? I was mearly commenting on the town itself being a run down shithole. Apart from that Lancashire, more so the rural side is pretty decent.

You spent the Lacelles and Darlow fees last year though on Assombalonga?

Logistically in terms of cash flow I think we paid a bit up front and the rest with instalments, same as the Darlow and Lascelles deal. But the sale of those 2 brought in more this year than last. Just thinking in FFP terms tbh

Which route are you using for Burnley to Leeds to be 40 mins? Takes about 40 mins to get through Colne!

No Odubajo or Dallas in our line up for the friendly today, though the news is that Dallas is at a funeral in NI and not in Leeds.

Looks like Odubajo is gone though. Really disappointed with that, one of our best players.

Kaitlin had some house viewings in Derby yesterday, and is "buzzing". Obviously not tearing her apart too much that she's leaving her dream house in Burnley.

I recall you started this #whereisthewifegoingtolive debate with the claim that Jason Shackell wouldn't move to Derby because his hot Texan wife had a decent house in Burnley, and wouldn't be able to find a nice council house in Derby.

But thanks for sharing the information that you "once lived in Sutton Coldfield" and for providing the geographical coordinates for those of us unfamiliar with your cricketing exploits.

Personally, I've decided not to go on holiday this year so I can learn more about Burnley and where you play cricket.

Also for the record when Kyle Lafferty was at Burnley he lived in a 2 up 2 down terrace house just off the those old cotton mill towers near the canal. He was a tramp mind.

Having looked on his wiki, Larsen Toure looks a bit of a bizarre one?

Purely cover I believe, although he didn't look too bad today against Utrecht. He is mates with Kevin Bru, used to play for Levski Sofia together

Fair enough mate, looks pretty poor on paper but Mick tends to get the best out of players like that so who am I to judge!

Steve Davies was playing for Bradford at Turf Moor today - could that be the real reason why Shackell left Burnley?:sur:

Any Huddersfield fans on here that can tell us about Adam Hamill?

Powell was asked today if he was coming to us and he refused to answer, so I think that means yes :)
