Nice bit of class to win it though and not an own goal hehe.

Was a hit and hoper which the keeper should have saved, he got a palm to it and everything.

Pootinho's goal that is, I want to make it clear that I don't waste my time watching Scottish "football" ;) - the best example of it I've ever seen was when Rab and Jamesie took on the foreign lads during the World Cup episode, now that was technical brilliance.

Ha yeah was watching that the other day funnily enough! :D

Scottish football is that bad it can be utterly brilliant to watch the ineptitude of it all. Gimme matches like that over the upcoming City v Chelsea borefest this weekend!

Great ending to the Dundee derby last night - I wasn't impressed with the United keeper when they played Aberdeen, and he should have done a lot better with the last minute equaliser. Another great goal from Stewart too.

Celtic have dropped their first points of the season tonight, 2-2 away at Kilmarnock, one of the worst sides in the division. It should have been a simple win, especially after going ahead in the second minute, but they missed quite a lot of chances to pull clear and got punished.

I don't think Celtic are 100% focussed on the league just now with the playoff for the CL coming up. Nevertheless, it was a match they should have won. Good to see them get a bloody nose though! :)

The stupid comments from John Collins can't have helped either. The other 11 sides should be using it in their pre-match motivation. Totally disrespectful to the other players and clubs in the division, who spend less in total than Celtic do by themselves, and have their best players poached by them.

Yes but Jamsie would have won that match if he hadn't got that gammy Shudda

I think Celtic could top my most hope they fail list....is always a good laugh if they b*gger the CL

Puts Celtic's 2-2 draw there last week into perspective.

I have bet on Ross County, Celtic -1, Celtic HT and FT, Hearts and Dundee today. The latter was only because of the odds, so would be quite happy with 4 out of 5 coming in.

Think Hearts are really going to push Celtic (and maybe Aberdeen) this year, they look good.

Good to see Ronny Delia is now having to explain his stupid comments in the week after Collins made his. It couldn't be possible that one team of league champions beat another team of league champions without there being something to blame.

Celtic have taken immediate action by making a £500k bid for Ryan Christie from Cally Thistle. This will help the other Scottish teams become faster and better, so that Celtic are properly warmed up for next year's qualifiers.

Well, that was a brilliant game. Aberdeen have improved in all the key areas over the last six months, and if they are to challenge Celtic then taking points off them is crucial. Getting 0/12 last season killed off any possible title challenge, so the game today was a key marker.

Even at 1-0 down at half time, Aberdeen had looked comfortable and it was just a case of taking chances. This result really does put them in the title picture - I think adding Ward, Shinnie and MacLean, and not losing anyone, means Aberdeen can stay in the title hunt until the closing stages. They might not win it, but they have enough to beat the smaller teams and not drop too many points, and that means the good start will hold firm for a wee while yet.

Had a brilliant day today. About 15 coaches were parked on my road by the time I woke up. Went to the local pub which had been taken over by loud Aberdeen fans. Had a few pints then walked the four minute walk round the corner to Tynecastle and saw Aberdeen destroy Hearts for the first 45 minutes. 3-0 at half time, including two beauties on the counter. The second half was more about holding onto the lead, but even after conceding one early on it was a comfortable victory. Went back via a few pubs, which were a nice mix of home and away fans together.

Aberdeen have a really good side this year. The keeper is a massive improvement on last year, the defence is solid, the midfield is packed with talent and Rooney can score goals. Even Goodwillie started scoring today. 8 wins from the first 8 is the best any side has managed in ten years and I think only one off the all time record. Danny Ward and Graeme Shinnie have turned a good side into a really good one, and I think they'll win enough games against the other teams to push Celtic all the way.

Going to Hibs vs Aberdeen on Wednesday too, such is the League Cup draw. About a 45 minute walk for that one. Tempted to take the day off and go via Rose Street.

Motherwell part company with Ian Baraclough. Means that former Alfreton plaer Josh Law will face his 3rd manager in just 16 months

Went to Hibs vs Aberdeen tonight in the League Cup. Aberdeen played their 'strongest team' but lost 2-0 to two late goals on the counter. It was the total opposite to Sunday, when everything worked perfectly - today was just a totally flat performance. Firstly, Rooney and Goodwillie can't be forced into the starting XI unless it's a straight 4-4-2, which this wasn't. Then, admittedly after two injuries within the first half hour, Logan was moved from RB to LB, which didn't work. In the second half they played Logan and McLaughlin (two right backs) on the right side, with no natural left sided players at all on the other side.

Hibs were nothing special, but were solid in defence and scored when it mattered late on. They actually looked a better side than Hearts did on Sunday. Take Graeme Shinnie out the Aberdeen team and it went to pieces. It's easy to say with hindsight but the starting formation was wrong, and then the re-shuffle at half time to counter the injuries was wrong. Quinn should have come into the centre of defence, with Considine at left back (as they played on Sunday and have for most of the season, when Shinnie plays in midfield). What happened was that there was no left side at all and two right backs fighting for the same space on the other side.

Disappointing for Aberdeen as they played 10/11 first team players and lost at the first hurdle. I suppose the bright side is that the squad won't be stretched as far and can focus on fighting for the league title.
