I imagine Asamoah will come in for Wyke then, though this could be Steven Rigg's big chance to kick start his season... Hard really to see Rigg and Jabo playing together though, they can't both be in the right place at the right time.

Asamoah's performance the other night was one of the best I've seen in many years supporting Carlisle.

He has to start this match alongside Ibehre.

It sounds to me the defence needs sorting .... is no good scoring 4 if your letting 4 in

Team I'd go with:

Gillespie

McQueen
Troy
Raynes
Grainger
Brough

Joyce
Kennedy
Hery

Ibehre
Asamoah

If Curle opts for one forward instead of two, I'd play Dicker over Asamoah.

McQueen looks great at wing-back, he's fast and powerful, as well as a threat on the attack. Troy should start providing he's fit, but Curle may start Miller instead.

I think he'll bring Hery and Ibehre back into the starting XI, and maybe Kennedy over Dicker, though that may be a bit too attacking.

Our main problem with defence has been our lack of proper centre-backs. For most of the games we've played this season, Raynes has been our only recognised centre back, and despite the low expectations we had of signing a player released by Mansfield, he's been pretty solid in the centre of the back three. The problems have been coming from either side of him, a little from Miller, but especially from Grainger. Atkinson was in there but picked up a knock against Chesterfield and will be out for a few weeks, whereas Troy hasn't been starting and CMW is just frozen out, but now Troy is back in contention I should hope we'll start to do much better defensively. It's just a shame Grainger is the first name on the team sheet.

Hopefully with Curle looking to sign a defender so I hear, and Dean Leacock on trial, we might fix that.

On Tuesday at QPR our wing backs actually defended at times which was a great help. It meant Grainger and Miller could be closer to Raynes in the centre which made us much more solid.

If we're going to play this formation this has to happen.

that was how we played it last season in the couple of games I seen and we seemed very good playing it.

but I won't slate Curle for attempting a very high risk go.............would have been a lot of fun if our 3-3-4 formation had worked. I think after the last week it'll be abit more defensive which is a shame but expected.

Seriously, I wouldn't play an open formation against us. We've got pace all over the pitch.

Well apart from Big Fat Billy of course.

He's been decent so far, been used as a centre back and right wing back already. He has made a few mistakes, but he's been solid.
Very much like him as a wing back, he gets up the pitch a lot. We've been shit defensively and there were a couple of times he was put in as centre back in poor performances, but its hard to single him out for the goals we conceded when Grainger danger on the left of the defence is doing such a good job of leaving the door open.
Good, good.

He was the more likely of the 3 or 4 players who were touted as FL bound to be a success.

Wyke has broken his metatarsal. So we won't be seeing him for a while.

This has really pissed me off because he was going to score a hattrick tomorrow.

Now Pools have a chance of winning now, ffs!

Jabo will have to score 6 then.

3pts would be nice today, get our 1st league win and move up the table. Should be a tough game, one which could go either way but hopefully we snatch a win.

I'd settle for a 2-1 Carlisle win, but I wouldn't be surprised if we drew again.

If we can beat QPR away then we must be able to beat Hartlepool away. If we don't then the only fair conclusion would be that we're too good for this league and should be immediately double promoted to a league where our style works.

I doubt we'll be turning up thinking it's a formality which I imagine had a hand in QPR losing.

Not to take anything away from a great win like.

If we play like we did against QPR we'd win regardless. The small problem is that we won't play that well (obviously) and we'll probably make the whole game difficult as we seem to be doing with every league game. Still think we can sneak the win though.

5 changes from the team that beat QPR. Rigg gets his first minutes in the league this season, also a first league start for Alex McQueen.

Surprised Dicker and Asamoah aren't starting.

Strong side that, I'm glad McQueen is starting. Does that line-up suggest Grainger is playing left wing-back?
Hopefully Rigg steps up to the plate, he's looked low on confidence so far this season.
