How much money will that save you wasn't he one of the biggest earners?

Only around £2,000 a week, he would probably have been kept on but he had a relegation release clause and chose to activate it meaning he could move to any club on a free. It's dragged on for ages, since Hendon took over pretty much. Thing is he's too slow to be a left back - he still has nightmares from a match v Preston last season - and positions too poorly to be a centre back. He might have done it at L2, Millwall fans liked him, but I'm very happy to see him gone.

Lindon Meikle has left York by mutual consent, fill your boots. And Tom Platt is off to Harrogate Town on loan. If they watched their friendly against us I'm not sure why they'd want him, or indeed any other member of our team, but there you go.

Joe Maguire has signed on loan from Liverpool to replace Lowry.

Makes me laugh on our forum, some people describing him as 'a good little acquisition'. How many times have Orient fans watched Liverpool kids?!

Agreed, but on the other hand there's no chance of him being worse than that fat Aussie cockwomble.

Not suprising we're going to be signing Youth loans as backup, we have a settled starting XI, not need for changes just yet.

Like all youth loans, you hope they're good!

A poster on another forum claimed it was £5,000 a week.

Unless he has seen the contract, he would be wrong*. Lowry was originally on £4,000 a week I believe, however all the signings from last season had a 50% relegation wage cut clause in their contract - that comes from a couple of people on our messageboard who are fairly in the know and I take what they say as accurate.

McAnuff would be on a wage closer to £5,000 - slightly under.

If you want a chuckle, Dossena was on £22,000 a week!

* I haven't either.

£22,000 a week in League 1? That's utter madness!

Alan Sheehan's long rumoured return looks a go'er - not sure we actually need him but Moniz doesn't seem to fancy Blair Adams for some reason and young Rhys Sharpe is our only other left-back so...

He would be very good to be fair, the fact that he's a massive twat aside.

Its part of the reason we went down. The owner put alot of trust into the previous "management" of the football club 12 months ago, signing a player like him was awful for team morale, he was awful as a defender and was unfit & always injured and we (Well our owner) was paying him allegedlly £22k a year. Awful.

So which premiership team will put in a last minute bid for that Carlisle striker (can't bring myself to mention his name).

Curle did mention that a Championship/League 1 team could take a chance on him given how little he would cost and the form he's in but I'd say it's unlikely. Regardless, I'd quite like the transfer window to shut now just to ease any worries.

MK Dons rumoured to be in for Callum O'Dowda, seriously hope it's not true.

Portsmouth and Carlisle United have reportedly reached an agreement for the transfer of Jabo Ibehre to Fratton Park.

I find it really strange when a manager almost invites bids for his striker who is banging in goals. For Curle to state "he wouldn't be surprised" if bids come in for him 3 days before the window shuts is as good as a come and get him plea.

He's played for 2 clubs this year so it wouldn't be very smart from said clubs

Wasn't sure where to put this but Jimmy Keohane came off the bench for us today, looked class and scored a magnificent solo goal. Any comments from Exeter fans on what he's like, was down there for 4 years?

Hopefully we can offload a few players tomorrow (highly doubtful), in particular Kearns and Meppen-Walter who've not featured this season.

Any takers?

Curle is still looking at 2 targets, so we may bring 1 or 2 in tomorrow. A defender would be nice.

Scenes is anyone is stupid enough to take Meppen the weapon. Kearns too for that matter.

He's a hard worker and does score the odd screamer. He's a bit lightweight and struggled to nail down a first team spot, plus it's not clear what his best position is. I'd say the number 10 role suits him the most but to be honest his level is probably in the Conference where I suspect he will do well.

Yeah, like Moomin said Jimmy worked hard and scored a few great goals but had many games where he'd go missing and could never hold down a place in the first team for us despite given many opportunities to do so. He'll do well in the conference.

Money has confirmed we could have a right back and a striker in before the deadline. Coulson, Taylor and Gaffney going out on loan.

Sorry to be right re Lindon Meikle York fans.

Sad but true, I thought this was a promising signing at the time but it clearly hasn't worked out. I imagine he'll rock up at a half-decent conference outfit and do well.

Make that a left back. It's Mickey Demetriou we're after on loan.
