Kelly is one of the worst players I've seen in a long while. Terrible defensively and not great going forward. Send him out on loan.

We are heavily reliant on our wingers to create something and when they go off we go to pot. We're certainly too good to go down but not sure we're up to a playoff challenge yet.

Hard on the players to lose like that but we got exactly what Page deserved. What was the point in getting a creative midfielder in on loan yesterday only to leave him twiddling his thumbs on the bench whilst giving Birchall and Kelly another 30mins to prove how useless they are.
Our defence is probably good enough to keep us up, but our lack of goalscorer will keep us looking over our shoulder rather than pushing for the play offs.

All of a sudden some of our fans are suicidal again and back to slating Page. We were seconds away from a week where we'd have gained 4 points, conceded 0 goals in over 300 minutes, one of the games being against a Premier League club. Just look on #pvfc on twitter, plenty of decent Bradford fans acknowledging how well we played first half.

We're a work in progress, compare the defence to last seasons. Now we've even got Smurf slating our manager on twitter too. Get a fucking grip.

Another great tweet from Norman, slagging off the manager and putting "at @ @"

If it helps you cope with your clubs demise enjoy it, personally after years of things being hidden by previous regimes I do find his honesty refreshing and he's asking the questions that we all were. We are comfy then takes out three best outlets off bringing on Whom he did and thus changes the game and costs us at least a point.

I understand him taking Byron off who had played 120 minutes Tuesday and was ill today but Andoh and Uche didn't even play the 90 midweek although from what I've read Andoh was booted to bits today.

As for the goal... Seems a foul of Duffy in the replay but diabolical defending. A typical Bradford route one goal so it's something we should have been easily dealing with really and after dealing with it for 120 minutes against WBA aiming for Lambert and Rondon for 120 minutes there's no excuses for conceding that.

Just seen the goal. Amazing stuff. Surprising that Vale's world class defence didn't deal with it.

Sukerpunch my arse you were simply out played and out classed,it was vale who resorted to hoof ball second half.Foley trying to get Hanson sent off was laughable and he should of been booked the fecking cheat.Just the win we needed hopefully thats us on our way now.

Port Vale tried to play football in the first half and we just couldn't get in to gear. A lot of very good build up play from vale but as soon as you got near our box it was rush of blood and snatch shot rather than a pass which would have resulted in a couple of tap ins. I was scratching my head when you took ikpeazu off though he had faded somewhat after a good first half.

We are currently getting better and in the last 20 minutes we looked the likely winner. I think we have a very good team assembled but they haven't quite learnt how to play together. When they do we will be frightening. I hope.

Bradford are a pretty poor side on current form and were there for the taking. Sadly for us our concerns about us not having a genuine goal-scorer in the side bit us in the arse, and will continue to do so until it's rectified.

First half we barely gave Bradford a kick and should have been leading by a couple. We played some terrific stuff at times again without creating an awful lot. Second half once our better players started to tire and were replaced with dross like Birchall and Kelly (nowhere near ready for 1st team football) Bradford were right back in it. Page has a lot to answer for with his substitutions that completely changed the game in Bradford's favour.

A draw would have been the right result, but hopefully we've now learnt to play until the final whistle. We'll finish above Bradford, of that I have absolutely no doubt.

There are clubs towards the bottom that will climb and there will be clubs currently towards the top that will fall away.

There's only ever one surprise team that stays the course - my guess will be Gillingham

The league is extremely average this year. I don't see much between the top and the rest like last year. There's no side I look at and expect to lose to such as MK, PNE or Bristol City this season and think it's the same for the majority of sides. Absolutely nothing to fear for anyone.

I would be very surprised if we finished the season lower than Port Vale. The main problem you have is that if ikpeazu gets recalled you haven't got anything upfront.

The way the Port Vale fans were talking before the game I thought we were going to get battered, although they played quite well in the first half they offered hardly anything up front and never looked liked scoring. Vale couldn't cope with us in the second half and we got a deserved winner in the last minute. I'd expect us to finish higher than them this season. Also good following from Vale I wasn't expecting to see more than 300.

You're making that call after just 5 games? Interesting.

There are plenty of examples of teams who have had very poor starts and gone onto have fantastic seasons.

I'm not suggesting that will definitely happen to us, but given we've had a really poor start (both in terms of performances and results) and you've had this supposed new beginning, how many league points currently separate us? A whopping 1.

I acknowledge you can only go on what you'll have seen of us yesterday, but equally if we do that we could say you have a distinct lack of cutting edge and as such we will finish above you, because we just appear to have just got one in Cole. Same sort of argument.

We'll comfortably finish above Vale this season, like most seasons.

"Played some terrific stuff", have a fucking word mate.

You passed the ball along the back four and occasionally followed it up by finding a decent pass in the final third, but other than that your chances were limited - much like ours.

You don't play great football, you're just playing marginally better football than previous seasons.

- and yes we hoof, and still won without even playing anywhere near the standard of which we're used to.

I would describe Vale's first half football as 'ineffective' - if was fairly easy on the eye but produced absolutely zero. There's a modern obsession with possession/number of passes and I sometimes think people place more value on that than goals.

I'd love for us to sweep teams aside playing free-flowing football but that's not always possible.

At the end of the day, we're still playing really poorly, still don't know our best 11 and in the last 2 games we've kept 2 clean sheets and got 4 points.

My question for Port Vale fans would be whh did you change the tactics at half time? The first half, while admittedly producing little, you played relatively well. Second half you resorted to old tactics; more interested in feigning injury/attempting to get Hanson sent off (though he was lucky to still be on the pitch) and barely mustering an attack.

Firthy the master of stats with "finish above Port Vale like most seasons" pretty sure last season was the first time since 2008/09 although stand to be corrected. Even with a ten point deduction we finished 9 clear of Bradford one year!

Sounds like we tired after 120 minutes against a strong premier league side in the week and as such our levels couldn't be sustained into the second half.

We lack a striker although we've played some terrific passing and attacking football at home especially this season.

Don't know how we will do come May, got a couple of big players to come back from injury and Hooper to get match fit but the signs are encouraging and if we maintain the level of performance we have in general this season we won't lose too many games.

Don't know enough about Bradford to know if they'll do better. Their squad is average but who's in this league isn't this season.

I wouldn't swap any city player for a port vale one. I guess at least you've got your super subs ;)

Not really any Bradford players I'd be desperate for either in place of ours. Marshall even rang up Smurf the day he signed for you begging him to re-instate his contract offer and he told him where to go :gr:

Come this time next week, we could well be above Vale. Not too shabby to say they've started so well. The football they play is easy on the eye.

Possibly but we'll have a game in hand.
