I'd like to see more one season series chronicling history like this. I love the way it portrays Escobar as the sympathetic family man that is a cold, ruthless monster. The show has perfectly dramatised the whole event. I love the narration and the real life footage moving the narrative. Wagner Moura is quite sensational in the part of Escobar.

The only gripe I have is it not showing the footballing aspect of Escobar's life, how he would pay players to come to his land and play against the team essembled by another Narco.

If you haven't read 'Killing Pablo' and you enjoy this then it's a must.

I haven't read a book in a long while, so I might just do that. Before seeing Narcos I only ever knew of Escobar as simply a Columbian cartel chief. Eye opening.

Anyone else here watching this new on Netflix? I'd really recommend it. It follows the activities of Pablo Escobar and the Medellin Cartel. Give it a go

It's superb. I've read a book on Escobar and watched a couple of documentaries as well so I wondered how much I'd enjoy a biopic considering I already know his story but i have.

Second season has already been given the go ahead too

Finished this, it's a very good show but pretty shoddy when trying to act as a biopic. I can only assume they made the decision to span it over more than one season relatively late on as they've covered a decade of Pablo fucking Escobar in 10 episodes and then set up Season 2 whereby he's essentially got about a year until he's dead. There's certainly a lot more they could have explored amd focused on more characters but I won't complain too much, I enjoyed it.

Feel like the whole cop perspective would have been far more interesting if based around Pena instead of Murphy too. It's a little too obvious that the real Steve Murphy was a 'technical consultant' for the series as well, talk about artistic license and American truth-manipulating.

Watched the first episode yesterday and loved it, looks as though it could be a fantastic watch.

Netflix I believe.

Finished it last night, excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Some good acting performances and the language difference wasn't an issue like I thought it could be. I'm looking forward to the next series.

Watching the last episode of Narcos today, series 2 can't come fast enough by far the bestc drama i've seen this year.

I still stand by what I said, I personally prefer it to anything I've ever seen on TV. Loved it that much.

4 episodes down, it is superb. Really captures my attention and a wonderful mixture of real footage and the production itself. Escobar has a really Tony Soprano vibe, a monster you just cannot hate.

Finished it a few days ago. It's fantastic. The last few episodes had me sat there in utter disbelief. Cannot wait for season 2.

I like Wagner Moura and the Elite Squad director bloke a lot, but the writing is fucking insipid and it dips its fingers into almost every gangster trope since the Godfather.

Also the pacing issues that RB talked about. And that fucking narration.

More shots of Wagner Moura smoking weed in rainswept countryside in S2, please.

I see this has been delayed for a second time after another of the main writers left. Hope they don't cancel it all together. First season was superb.

I enjoyed this despite sharing Jockney's thoughts on the narration.

Spoke to a Colombian fella recently who said the Medellin accent was ropey. Obviously didn't bother me though.
