Methinks someone needs to do their theory test again. I'm a few weeks away from my practical and I've been driving on a three lane dual carriageway for weeks. Maybe they're more prevalent in Northern Ireland.
I never did a theory test the first time. I passed my driving test in 1989 when the theory part consisted of answering about 5 questions correctly and being able to identify 3 signs from a flip chart. I think if I had to take a theory test I'd probably fail it, however I've managed not to kill or maim anybody from not knowing a dual carriageway can have 1-3 lanes.

One of my theory test questions was something like:
A policeman is standing in the road with his hand raised, what do you do?
A) Speed up
B) Honk your horn
C) Stop
D) Wave back

I never understood how people failed their theory.

I completely agree with C&B

I remember taking my theory test many years ago and it took me 8 minutes to complete a 40 minute test.
The majority of the questions are so easy and with it being multiple choice answers, i really can't see how people can choose the wrong one, let alone get enough wrong to fail the test. It's common sense.

I've just looked at some questions online and i remember having one similar to this.

How long is an MOT valid for?

A) -1 year after the date of issue.
B) -3 years after the date of issue.
C) -50,000 miles.
D) -100,00 miles.

It's a little different now I guess, most people I know who struggled had trouble with the hazard perception part.

No such thing as a theory test when I passed mine back in the late 80s. You were asked 4-5 highway code questions by the examiner after you parked back in the test centre and that was it.

Funny that because the Hazard and Perception part I scored really high marks on. It was the 50 questions beforehand which were more of a challenge.

Should be made to take a theory test then, if you haven't taken the test then how do you know what signs mean?

During the ages of approx 35-60 you become an excellent driver. All of those driving slower than you are dawdling grannies and those driving faster than you are "boy racers". What the signs mean is irrelevant, no one really knows what they mean anyway. Just get on with it.

When they use a Harry Redknapp article to raise some very nebulous point.

They decide that using Football Manager stats to compare football players on SSN is a good idea

When people take jokes about one of the numerous clubs they support seriously.

I didn't know me and Arry's comments had such an effect on you, mate.

That paper isn't even fit enough for wiping your arse.

I agree. Some people even went so far as to quote from it to score petty points during the transfer window. Can you imagine that!?

Anybody who watches Gogglebox. As for the people who appear on it, they should all be shot.
