Opposing the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre!!!!
A new season of qt started yesterday, so I thought we could have a thread dedicated to the issues discussed on it each week.

Well what were they then?

It became a big discussion about Corbyn. John McDonnell attempted to row back on his IRA comments. It wasn't a great episode.

Liz Truss is fucking dreadful.

McDonnell and Truss are pitiful.
I reckon somebody in the pcp told Truss to keep a lid on it, she was much less verbose than usual.

This week was a bit dull. It was amusing to see Kinnock feeling obliged to defend Corbyn though.
Charlotte Church was alright, but poor Leanne got rinsed.

Charlotte Church seems a nice enough lass but she was useless. Poor episode. Wood didn't seem to enjoy being reminded that UKIP got more votes in Wales than Plaid Cymru.

I felt for Leanne Wood, she does seem a little out of her depth doesn't she?

Kinnock was good I thought. Crabb is exactly the sort of guy the Tories should be promoting, brought up in a council estate in Inverness, looking after his mother. He and Sajid Javid could be the key if they really want to appeal to the centre.

Thatcher lover was very annoying and Church is a little daft, apparently she has accused the audience of been right wing. Really? Possibly more centrist than usual but no way was it right wing.

She didn't call them right wing during the show.

I know....
When did she call them right wing?

Tonight's show was quite good. I agreed with Melanie Phillips on the tax credits issue, but nothing else. She's right to say that scrapping tax credits is right but only if you're going to ensure that people are getting paid enough to cover the shortfall. Priti Patel got well and truly rinsed over the tax credits and was attacked on it from all quarters. It's a shame she's a Tory because she's also a milf.
The SNP bloke was pretty good and I kinda like Farron. I thought Nandy held her own.

You can shag a Tory and not become one. :ohm: I'm with Mowgli, it's the same old trusted MP's, the same journo's and the same celebs making up the numbers. Audience ask a question, MP's and journo's trot out party lines.

The Times lady was the only one worth listening to.

God that last Question Time was grim. Most things that wind me up I can quickly forget forever, or just avoid altogether. QT however...

Feels like it's turning into Fox news this year. Very disingenuous statements going unchecked. Lack of defence for targets at times. Lardarse Ken Clarke claiming you can only be healthy if you eat meat last week proper riled me. Worse still getting up half six the next day having spent an hour recovering from QT before I can get to bed. e_e

I missed Clarke's ridiculous comment about eating meat  I'd turned over before then. Don't understand his view as i don't eat meat through my choice of not wanting anything to do with the suffering of animals but hey each to their own in my opinion.I'm fit enough as i try and get as much exercise as i can, fitness is not just about what you eat,Clarke looks like he could do with some exercise himself but it would probably kill him.

I can laugh at my grandma's, daughter of a butcher, comments about the food I eat, but denial that vegetarians can even exist is erasure and frustratingly stupid. Sherpas, some of the fittest tribespeople on earth, never kill.

Melanie Phillips, as usual, was pushing her anti-Muslim propaganda and toeing the pro-IDF line.
She was speaking for most of the working class on immigration. Controlled immigration is the only sustainable menthod you understand this? (I know I won't get an answer).

Didn't watch it this week but I'd just like to point out that Priti Patel is an utter, utter moron. Genuinely might be the most stupid Member of Parliament (and it's not like there isn't competition).

Anyone see that Platell article about bake off, btw? Even by her standards it was absolutely deplorable.
Platell is a disgrace. But then I'd never understand why anyone would choose to read such a disgusting rag.

Not a bad panel. Simon Schama starts well - if we can't get reform of the EU, he's voting out.

I've heard a lot of incoherent shouting but not one decent argument has been put forward yet.

Got a bit feisty, didn't it?

I actually thought some of the stuff on the EU and the migrant crisis was quite good. A little bit heated but some genuinely convincing arguments.

The grammar school stuff and the bit at the end about the budget surplus vote were crap though.

Decent panel tonight. Zahawi for the Tories is a bit of a wet fart, but Alan Johnson, Nigel Farage and Germaine Greer are all good value. Michelle Dewberry predates my Apprentice-watching days so I have no idea what she's like.
