Don't trust our defence to defend this for 5 minutes. Not one bit

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
sounded like we really really deserved that win.

just need to stop taking 10 minutes to warm up in games.

ignore Liverpool.......that is our performance of season.

When was the last time someone scored 4 at The Kenny? Very impressive win.

I knew we'd score 4.

Just naively thought we'd only concede 1.

Great way to win it though.

Luton will be sick

Complete lack of grit in our team, as soon as Carlisle scored their second it was obvious we would lose. Not helped by basic lack of football intelligence, nonchalantly passing the ball straight back to Carlisle straight from the kick off after the equaliser, 30 seconds later we are losing. In that situation you just need to keep the ball and steady the ship, like a boxer after getting knocked down. Basic stuff.

All credit to Carlisle though, they played nice football from first minute to last. No time wasting, no heading for the corners. Created better chances than us and overall deserved to win. If we are going to be a mid table side I'd rather watch us play like that every week than the dirge we serve up most of the time.

The mental fragility in the team is worrying. It clearly goes beyond the 11 on the pitch as we had all the same issues from January onwards last season with a completely different squad.

Fair play Luton fans on here. Very classy in defeat. Considering the circumstances of the defeat you'd have been forgiven for coming on here to vent or even swerving this thread full stop.
Respect.

I like the Luton fans, they always have something to say and what would a messageboard be without people who have something to say. Remember them fondly from our first game post relegation and theirs post promotion.

Oh dear, well done Carlisle kept going, even at 3-1 down you could see the come back was there for them if they wanted it because the defence was a shambles.

Felt Still didn't react quickly enough when Carlisle started throwing everything forward, was clear that Doyle needed to come on as Cuthbert and Obrien where struggling but we took too long and by the time Doyle was putting his shirt on it was much too late. Personally feel that was change we needed to make at 3-1 as we looked fragile all night.

Obviously annoyed we lost but we played some decent stuff going forward, but the defence is a mess based on tonight, not sure how Cuthbert is captain.

Also well done the 160 odd Carlisle fans, nights like tonight must make it worth it!

Cuthbert has been unconvincing all season but tonight he was genuinely horrific. Not sure he won a header against Wyke all game, gave so many fouls away, cleared away aimlessly and looks outright scared of the ball at times.

I realise there are more important things in life than football, but we are missing McNulty so much it hurts. So many goals recently he would have headed and attacks nullified by his positioning. If he really had to go then he should have remained on until January to allow us to find a proper replacement.

No idea why Smith is playing in an advanced position. He is a defensive midfielder, play him in front of the defense.

Fair play to Carlisle, probably the best footballing side Ive seen all season. Even at 3-1 up we were second best.

I am starting to think we need a change now. With this squad and his budget, Still shoiuld be doing better. We've seen with Carlisle and Wycombe what a younger, fresh approach can do. Thanks John, but it might be time up.

Yeah fair play Hatters, very gracious in defeat even in those circumstances.

Wonderful belief in this side, I honestly didn't see us coming back at 3-1. Well played yet again Curle, substitutes had a massive impact on proceedings again.

Best result of the season for us against a good Luton side.

I would hardly Curle young! He's 52!

Must say I was impressed with Carlisle at Sixfields - although their danger ended when Asamoah tired. It must be entertaining watching Carlisle.

I've had to look this one up. In the league, its the first time we've conceded 4 at home since March 2009! A 4-2 defeat v Rotherham, with Chris Martin and Asa Hall on the scoresheet for Luton.
We NEVER concede many at home.

I can't really add much on this thread than what has already been said - the defending tonight was totally unacceptable, but tonight is done. We can't keep feeling sorry for ourselves. We need to pick ourselves up and go and beat Newport on Saturday.

Carlisle were there for the taking and frankly at 3-1 up with 3/4 of the game done, it should've been done. As a team looking for promotion its no where near good enough.

I am really grateful that I held back from taking the piss and held my breath,
cause at 3-1 to us I thought... " don't do it-it'll be the kiss of death".
Luton have made a lifetimes worth of history,
in snatching defeat away from the arms of victory.
Carlisle fans should be rightly proud of their team tonight,
just as we luton fans must recognize that things aint right.
you don't give away a two goal lead when a win is yours not to lose,
and it was shocking how quickly the early cheers turned into late tormented boos.
I know its radical and I should bite my tongue,
but one could get the impression someone's been promised a bung.
somebody somewhere must of made a packet
a 3 4 away win should've pleased some overseas racket.
I hope carlise and its fans now go on from strength to strength.
from the north to the south of this country they indeed travel the length.
if there is one lesson we take away from this game,
take nothing for granted whatever your teams name.
safe journey home Carlisle fans.....

Im pretty resigned to the fact that mid table is where we are going to be this season hence why im not particularly pissed off that we lost from 3-1 up. At least it was an entertaining game.

Think we'll see the season out with brief playoff talk every now and again when we string a couple of wins together and Still will depart the club in the summer and we rebuild again. I cant see us sacking him.

Red socks again I see... and home kit away from home when I presume we'd have had no issue wearing our black away kit. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad, I just wonder who made the decision, and why.

Carlisle better than us for 80 mins out of 90. We defended shambolically.

Mark O'Brien just brings misery whenever he plays. Mark O'Misery.

Deserved win for those from near Scotland. We really need to take a long hard look at ourselves though

Well that was by far one of the best games I've been to, slightly more local for me than most away fans who were there and I haven't managed many games this season, what a night to pick. Would've considered leaving at 3-1 last season but there's always that niggling feeling now that something could happen and I think it's fair to say it was worth it. Great goals, great football, Luton didn't look too bad but players like Ibehre, Asamoah and Gilliead will cause problems for anyone in this league and when we get them all on at the same time we're pretty much guaranteed a couple of goals a game to be honest. Fantastic day for the club what with Curle signing on for a while as well. If we beat Crawley on Saturday we'll be in an excellent position.

Just seen Luton fans on their forum aren't even slightly bitter which is nice to see, plenty of compliments coming in for our style of play and manager - rightly so after tonight!

Unbelievable the amount of space Ibehre had yesterday when he came on, not sure if that's down to just bad defending or because our front three all require at least a man marking them which doesn't work at all for the opposition. He was constantly in line with the last man when we were attacking and found it pretty easy to peel away from the centre backs hence why he ended up getting to the goal which should've been given.

In my opinion if we keep that front three together we should comfortably be looking at the play-offs, perhaps more if we tighten up the defence even just a tiny bit. Pretty impressive that we're back in the play-offs having been without Ibehre for 2 months, and even more impressive that he's still joint 2nd top scorer after that. Would be 2nd on his own had he not had the goal wrongly ruled out for offside yesterday but oh well.

That's pretty much what BigDaveCUFC has been saying about the prospect of that front 3 playing together. Also add with Wyke in the mix last night, it's pretty hard to handle at this level.
