I one shotted the suicide guy somehow, maybe I shot his mini nuke or whatever badass explosive he has? idk, it exploded all over him at any rate :2thumb:. Stayed far enough back on the hill across the water that the rockets weren't accurate and exploded a few metres away. First couple of times I went there I got close up and they fucked me up instantly.

37 hours now.

Getting near the end of the main story, I can feel it.

First game in a while now though where I haven't spoiled the main twist for myself, I enjoyed experiencing that.

I've barely done any quests still. Just exploring. Found some strange stuff. Still think there are less friendly people about compared to Fallout 3 or NV. Got caught up in a huge radiation storm which was pretty cool.

I don't know why this didn't occur to me before, but if you're struggling with 'you are carrying too much' just bring up the console and type 'player.modav carryweight XXXX' where XXXX is the extra amount you want to be able to carry, ie typing 'player.modav carryweight 500' will increase your carry weight by 500. My life is easier

After 45 hours of game time I have completed the main storyline.

It was very enjoyable - not NV levels of fun and impactful main story, but still very entertaining. Going to start properly exploring every location or area of the map I have missed now, as well as getting the companions, unique weapons and killing the special enemies.

I think I was level 37, give or take, when I finished the main story - I am a touch OP.

I've just got to Diamond City, so I'm not very far into the game at all yet, but I struggled my way there with no ammo, high rads and very little health! There better be a bloody trader worth talking to or all hell is going to break loose.

I really need the perk to set up supply lines. These whiney settlers are starting to get on my nerves making me go back and forth all the time. Build your own fucking turrets you lazy slags.

Also, this is cool... https://imgur.com/wDJFoGO Took the guy 5 hours to make :ohm:

I went over 22 hours on this last night. That might not sound like a lot, but it came out Tuesday, and my gaming time per week when it's school term time is about 2-6 hours I'd say. The game is incredible, granted it's just 'more fallout' and I understand that people that didn't like the others, won't like this. However the game is even more addictive, the settlement building is a horrible time sink. Went on last night at about 10pm and was up till 1am just pissing about trying to grow a couple of the settlements. It makes me understand why people probably like minecraft as much as they do.

Fuck me. I haven't even gone to Diamond city yet.

I have just been fortifying Sanctuary. I mean HOURS.

57 hours now, level 40 something.

I think about 17 of those hours was building up Sanctuary and other settlements though. I mainly just enjoyed cleaning them up if anything.

Probably about 20 odd hours in now. Level 26. Gone for a more scientific/charismatic build but the levelling system is not particularly specialised this time around which I think will lessen its replay value (at least compared to 3 and NV). The Commonwealth is extremely dense and I feel like I've only explore a tiny part of it despite the act that I've covered a pretty broad spread of the map. That being said, I haven't come across a quest path yet that even comes close to the richness and detail of some of the stories in Witcher III. I am enjoying it though. It definitely still feels like a fallout game and is hitting the right beats, even if it doesn't feel particularly fresh.

Yeah I have to agree, I have not really given the Witcher the merit it deserves until I started to play this.

My major, major, major annoyance with this is the settlement building. WHY do buildings not just follow the level of the ground. Instead of floating like amateur hour.

Now I'm working I'll be getting an XB1 after Christmas (stfu before you start PC wankers). I'm avoiding reading posts here or anything about F4 on the tinternet too. As far as I'm concerned F4 does't exist until I buy my console and it gives birth to F4. I'll book a week of leave too, otherwise I'll be on it until stupid o clock every night.

Agreed. I've just built myself a pre-fab in Sanctuary and covered my settlements in turrets 'cause it's too annoying trying to do anything else. Bethesda know modders will fix it for them.

Spent several hours trying to solve a bug with the "Lost Patrol" questline last night. Googled around and it seems theres at least 3 seperate bugs for that quest. Not a happy bunny, though I managed to solve it in the end.

I've not been on this in like a week and I've not found myself itching to go back on it. It's no Witcher 3 to be honest. That game set a new bar for me.

I've played it a lot recently but it defo feels like MGS:TPP mark II. Some great environments but variety, characters, questlines sorely lacking. Shame, as on paper it has potentially the most interesting set up of the 3D fallouts.

variety in quests is its biggest weakness imo. too many "go here, kill/retrieve this" quests.

I don't like the dialogue wheel thing. Plus I know Bethesda are typical for having bad dialogue and voice acting, but TW3 really showed how paying for decent voice actors and having grown up, mature, interesting dialogue really adds to the game. You can be a big open, free roaming world and still have decent character interaction.

And the settlement thing downright sucks

I appreciate I shamelessly mention this a few times, but the podcast I am involved with we did a Fallout4 special so thought I would stick it up. Anyway the iTunes link is now fixed as was previously not listing.

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/invert-y-gaming-podcast/id1023498906?mt=2

Also on other platforms if you search Invert Y

Downloading. I'll have a listen, and criticise you, when I finish work :)

Edit: Enjoyed it while playing some CS DM. Nice and relaxing listen which is a bit different for a gaming podcast, they're usually done in a really noticeably forced 'upbeat, much lols' style. Only complaint was the FO intro music drowning your voices out at the beginning. Good work though, will tune in in the future.

Also, are you the guy with the deeeper voice? If so you sound so much like Richard Lewis, it's uncanny.
