Decent film with Paul Bettany and Randy quaid. For a film about the possible end of days there were some funny moments like the old lady in the diner  and some comical deaths.Enjoyed it so 7/10.

A genuinely unsettling psychological thriller/horror. John Cusack plays an excellent role and Samuel L Jackson is very good in cameos as well. At times it did get a bit crazy but it had me hooked all the way through.

I watched that a couple of years ago but found it confusing and had no idea what was going on

That's part of why I liked it. It wasn't your generic haunted room horror. It had a bit more to it.

The end of the tour: 8/10

A rolling stone journalist spends a few days interviewing the late David Wallace, played by Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Segel. The performances are great, particularly from Jason Segel as I never thought he had it in him. It's basically a two hour conversation between a journalist and a severely depressed individual, which can make it hard to watch at times.

The interview was never actually published and David Wallace hung himself in his garage.

Slow West: 7/10

A different take on westerns, starring Michael Fassbender. It is the story of a young Scot that travels to the US chasing a girl he loved; Fassbender's character joins him on his quest to find her. It starts off quite slowly but the end is pretty satisfying with a good old western shootout.

Cloverfield: 7/10

Hadn't seen it since it came out almost a decade ago. It's as good as I remember it to be; never been a fan of the shaky camera but this really pulls this off and gives you some genuine scares along the way. Proper monster movie.

Steve Jobs: 6.5/10

Thought it was a tad disappointing, although Fassbender is great in it. Would have been nice to see more about his relationship with Steve Wozniack but the story focused more on his daughter, which was a bit boring.

Excellent performances form Keaton and Norton, enjoyed the story although it was quite ambiguous throughout. Highly recommended however.

Seen it before but probably enjoyed it more this time around. One of the best horrors in the last ten years. 8/10.

Ant Man
Wasn't expecting too much from this but I really enjoyed it. Probably my third favourite Marvel film. Cas praising Marvel. End of the world incoming. 8.5/10

Good film, some very funny scenes and overall an enjoyable watch. Hurley from Lost is in it too, and there's also a Lost reference towards the end.

Based on a true story,500 American Soldiers in WWI are lied to by their superiors about having support on their flanks so in good spirits attack a fortified German position. It soon becomes clear they are on their own and completely surrounded by the enemy, short of food, water, medical supplies and ammo they continue to fight on.
At the end in the credits it tells you what happened to the main characters. This truly shows the horrors of life in the trenches in France in WWI and was a masterpiece and one of the best films i've seen in a long time. 9.5/10.

Videodrome [1983]

Not seen this in years, it stars James Woods [and Blondie (!)] as a tv executive in charge of a small station noted for producing soft porn and violence, who is looking around for the next big thing. He comes across a station that appears only to show realistic torture and seeks the makers out in order to get it for his own network. However as more recordings come his way, he starts to hallucinate about the images he sees and starts to become unable to determine which is reality and which is this strange world he has been drawn into. Along the way he uncovers a plot to bring this content to the wider public and have them indocrinated to do whatever the makers want.

Strange, brilliant, prescient, sexy, gory and trippy all at once; this is Cronenberg at the height of his powers, and anyone who is a fan of his work will love it if they haven't yet seen it.

A Beautiful Mind.

A film loosely based on mathematician John Nash's life and his battle with Schizophrenia. It's one of my favourite films and the acting is incredible. How Crowe didn't win the Oscar I have no idea. Very few of us will ever experience what it's like to have the condition but Crowe gives a very convincing insight in to what I think it must be like. The scene where he hurts his wife to protect her from being shot encapsulates this perfectly.

The ending made me blub like a baby the first time I saw it too.

The soundtrack is belting as well. One of Horner's best.

Dr Who: Dalek Invasion of Earth 2150 AD

Film version of Doctor who made in 70's I guess. Peter Cushing plays Doctor Who in a film version of an original series story.

its about 1 hours, 20 minutes long and a lot of fun in my view, time flies past and looks very stunning for a small budget.

Was alright, I guess. Didn't expect it to be set all in one building. Kept reminding me of the Kowloon Walled City (from what I've read of it).

7/10

Arn the Knight Templar

A bit Braveheart, a bit Gladiator, a bit Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. A bit The Magdelene Sisters too. And not as good as any of them, really. Wasn't arsed what would happen by the end. So maybe fitting that not much did.

Average WW2 film no more than that and tedious in places but the battle scenes just about saved it. 5.5/10.

Just fucking dreadful, can't remember the last time i was so bored watching an "Action" film, 45 minutes was my limit or i'd have gauged my eyes out with a pen.

Victor Frankenstein: 7/10

Critics are absolutely lashing it which i found surprising. I really enjoyed it, but maybe it's because i never saw any of the older ones and i'm not very familiar with the source material so it was all a bit new to me. James Mcavoy and Daniel Radcliff are great in it.

Great movie. The performances of Stallone and Michael B. Jordan are excellent. Wouldn't be surprised to see Stallone have an Oscar nomination for his performance.
Spectre 7.5/10
I loved it. Not as good as Skyfall or Casino Royal but much better than Quantum of Solace. The pacing of the movie could have been faster but other than that was a very entertaining movie

Absolutely superb, Paddy Considine puts in one of the finest performances I've seen. Brilliantly filmed, done in such a way you feel you're in the room with everyone. Great plot twist at the end. Did I mention Paddy Considine puts in a fine, fine performance? 9.5/10.

Found this to be more of an atmospheric thriller than a Victorian horror as described in the tv guide. Average at best so 5.5/10.

Thoroughly predictable and some parts are almost a carbon copy of Rocky but it's so well done that you just forget that. It's very well acted but Stallone in particular stands out in a couple of scenes.

A soldier (Paddy Considine) comes home from the army to go after a bunch of thugs who bullied his mentally challenged brother. It's superb.
