What VL said. I'm a big fan of this trilogy and have been waiting for the 3rd instalment for ages. I rate much highly than any of Harris' acclaimed work like Enigma (which I didn't particularly like).

Read Introduction to Bhagavad-gita yesterday.

It's not a long book.

Didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped I would but it passed the time on a flight (in the material sky, not the spiritual one).

Bloody hell i read that years ago when i was in my 20's,enjoyed it and found it fascinating.

I liked some of the ideas in it. And the stories are interesting. Want to read more of that kind of stuff, and about the different deities too. Just didn't like the definitive tone of this, though. Krsna is the supreme dude in the universe, you must submit to him, etc.

Give me the stories and let me make my own mind up, really.

I got it from a hare krshna chap without really knowing what it was. Probably shouldn't be surprised they were circling their holy propoganda!

It's all good though. Even if I didn't agree with it all, reading it is better than not reading it. It's all learning, innit?

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion, it's about a man with Asperger's syndrome and his project to find a wife. Very entertaining, funny and endearing.

I've just finished Kingmaker : Winter Pilgrims by Toby Clements. I thought it was brilliant and will probably read the rest of the series.

The history was brilliant and I'll probably read more on the War of the Roses as a result. So many things I wanted to google as I went through it.

I've given up on the "stop being a c***" self help book and am currently reading dominion by cj sansom. It's about a post war Britain in which the nazis have won ww2 and Churchill is in hiding leading the resistance. Very atmospheric 8/10 so far.

Finished Dictator by Robert Harris. Quite underwhelming I must say after the quality of the two prequels of the Cicero trilogy.
Started reading You Are Dead by Peter James. It's ok.

Deep Shelter by Oliver Harris.

Just finished it. Decent book that follows the story of a drink and drug addled cop whose love interest gets kidnapped. What follows is a fast paced chase around London and Wilshire revealing secrets about nuclear bunkers and cold war cover ups. It's not the deepest of books but it reminded me of "I am Pilgrim" which some on here enjoyed.

It seems it's part of a series but the next one doesn't interest me as much from what I can see.

Thirty-one Nil - On The Road With Football's Outsiders:
Good book; some guy who watches teams trying to qualify for the 2014 World Cup starting in 2011 in far flung places around the world such as American Samoa; Haiti; Lebanon; Eritrea etc.

Well written with a little bit of history thrown in, in each place.

Reading Alex Ferguson's recent effort 'Leading'. It's a little repetitive at times - a 400 page book that could have been done in less. having said that it is interesting for the most part. I'd recommend it if you want something easy to read.

I've read them too. Brilliant series. Give dominion a go, different setting obviously but still the same excellent atmospheric plot and detailed characterisation.

Thunder Of The Gods - Anthony Riches. The 8th and final book in the Empire series about The Romans which started in Britain then Germania and now Palmyra. I've found only one better author on The Romans and that's Simon Scarrow and i've read the first 14 books on Macro and Cato and can't wait for the 15th released in April.

I read Hugh Howey's - Beacon 23 which is a short story on the kindle about a man working on a beacon in space. The beacon is basically a lighthouse for spaceships warning them of a nearby asteroid field, it all starts to go tits up. It was a good story but there are 5 in the series and at £1 each it feels a bit of a rip off. Anyone else read the rest? It will probably be something I end up buying when I am bored one night.

I returned my last book in the Library and they had in Red Country by Joe Abercrombie so I picked it up as that's another one of the three follow up books down. I also have a book about the Aids Epidemic to get through but it's huge so I think I'll wait to start that one.

I started reading Sleepwalking Land (1992) from Mia Couto. It's suprising me, I thought it will be also a 'sleepwalking' reading but it's being very interesting with a really good interaction of african/mozambican elements, war and the characters development.

The Siege by Nick Brown.
Another novel of the Romans fighting against Palmyra.over 200 pages and still no battle yet! Hope this livens up as i've got the next 3 in the series.

I just finished Red Country by Joe Abbercombie. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ninefingers is a brilliant character I'll miss reading about him. All the new characters were enjoyable, I particularly enjoyed Temple. I've read some reviews saying that people felt it was slow but I didn't feel like that at all. The only period that I didn't quite enjoy was the march up to the dragon people and the final fight. I liked the part between Shivers and Ninefingers at the end but felt it was a shame that he then fled. Other than that it's a good book and I just have Best served cold left now.

Master Of War by David Gilman.
An outstanding debut novel about archer Thomas Blackstone in France fighting in The Hundred Years War. This first novel is all about the build up to the battle of Crecy.The fast paced story never lets up and i'm loving it,have the 2nd novel in the series to read straight after.

Crossed Paths (1935) by Érico Veríssimo. Incredible as it may seem, I still don’t know what the plot is about. All the chapters I read until now are introducing a new random character whose I assume will have their paths crossed at some point. It's a waffled story with many "delays" to get into the important points or plot development but it's well written and in some way I could relate with some characters and enjoyed one called Noel and that made me interested in the reading.
