I watched 4 episodes earlier. Still struggling with the one sided view of the story though. I also can't see how there's still 6 episodes left. Surely they could have told this in 4 hours?

I've just watched The Rack Pack, a BBC drama about the emergence of snooker as a popular TV sport and the rivalry between the flamboyant but troubled Alex Higgins and the professional, robot-like Steve Davis.

It won't be everyone's cup of tea but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lead actors were great and the mix between archive footage and live footage was well done.

Definitely recommend, it's on the iPlayer.

Beeb 2 WORLD WAR III WAR ROOM thingy. Did anyone watch? Total guff, with lots of grey around the temples men sat in a moodily lit room fondling expensive pens whilst thrashing out Tough Decisions in a manner that suggests a dual subtext of "bit of a laugh this, innit, but since you're here you may as well check out the size of my massively important willy".

Completely redeemed, however, by the faux-newsy style scenes added to give a bit of colour to the fictional-but-plausible conflict, which are indistinguishable from bad computer game cut scenes from Command and Conquer to Call of Duty.

Thank God they ran off Peter Watkins.

Episode 9 of Making a Murderer was probably the toughest watch yet.

Watching Brendan's trial is very tough. The fact he clearly isn't the full ticket and having to answer some tough questions was horrible. I also really hate Teresa's brother. He seems to love the limelight. I'm not sure I'd be so joyful and willing to be interviewed like he was.

Very interesting but extremely one-sided and it could have been told in half the number of episodes. Pretty gripping stuff though.

But the makers admit that not all the evidence is shown. I've read various things about it and it's hard to sift the shit from the fact but there's talk of various DNA sources and not just blood in her car, ballistics reports plus other items of hers found at his home.

The programme had an agenda and I think it's naive to think they didn't slant the story one way over the other.

I don't think the evidence shows that he's innocent but I certainly think it shows that he's not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

As far as I can tell, the evidence they left out was hardly earth-shattering. Some supposed sweat DNA and some more circumstantial stuff about her going to the car lot 3 or 4 times at Avery's request but that doesn't mean he killed her, there's plenty of massive creeps that aren't cold-blooded killers - I think you have to take into account that weird behaviour is somewhat normal in a place like Manitowoc where they're all a bit y'know...backward.

Dunno, from a critical p.o.v it's far too easy to see the makers' own views but even if you read all the evidence I don't think it would be enough to change your own mind, either way, someone I work with watched it and concluded he was guilty - not sure how but he did.

For anyone at a bit of a loss for something to watch, they could do worse than have a look at the original Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy series shown here. Not the best copies in this link, but get past that (and once you know who every one is) and you'll find a completely engrossing story, performed wonderfully especially by the great Alec Guinness. Much better drama than a lot of the drudge that passes for British drama these days.

I saw it and gave up after 3 episodes as it was dull,the idea was good but the result was a complete waste of time.

They basically never do. The studio and the network are already well aware that the fans want the show to continue. The only way to change their mind would be to somehow demonstrate that they can still make good money from it.

The first episode of Vinyl is a fun watch, directed by Martin Scorsese. Just shy of 2 hours long but fast paced and seemed to fly by. It's a look at the music business in the 70s, depicting both real and fictional bands/people.

Watched this the other night, albeit when I was half-micked. I enjoyed it a lot even though some of the scenes were completely made up (which they do tell us tbf). It was very funny in parts, and it showed the destructive nature of Higgins pretty well - though they didn't spoilt it completely when they could've told about the death threats he made on Dennis Taylor - and the lad that played Barry Hearn was brilliant fun as was the actor who played Steve Davis.

It was also quite nostalgic for me as it mixed real footage which I remember with some of the characters I grew up with when I used to follow snooker a lot, with the acting. The referee used a lot in the piece is an actual snooker ref as well, and seeing some of them again on the footage was great. Well worth a watch even if you don't remember it or weren't born at the time.

Doing the entire round of Only Fools and Horses on Amazon prime at the moment. Had always seen individual episodes on Gold, but I haven't ever watched them in order from beginning to end. Currently half way through Season 4. Timeless classic.

Just finished series 1 of Into The Badlands,it's not bad but some of the martial arts are comical,i will still watch series 2 though if it gets made.
