His 'we'll score more than you' approach was never going to last all season. Would have needed a re-think next season because I imagine Emmanuel will be off (not scored many lately, though?).

Boxing day was his last goal bit like Jordan Burrow who hasn't scored since November 28th.

They looked ok on Saturday until we scored. After that their confidence visibly disappeared and the game was over by half-time and dead and buried by the time we scored our 4th. I didn't go to Bromley, but someone I know who did said that they were a shadow of the team we beat in the last minute down there.

From the Altrincham website:

ALTRINCHAM FC PARTS COMPANY WITH LEE SINNOTT

Altrincham FC announces that "It is with regret that Altrincham Football Club have parted company with Manager Lee Sinnott after five years at the helm. Lee, the second longest serving manager in the National League, joined the club after Altrincham suffered relegation in 2011 and, after a season of consolidation, the side pushed for promotion which was eventually achieved in 2014 with a play-off win against Guiseley. Finishing 17th in our first season back in the National League was a great achievement and we looked to push on this year. Unfortunately, due to an unprecedented number of long-term injuries this has not been possible and, at present, the club find themselves in the relegation zone with 11 games to play.
Chairman Grahame Rowley said 'It has been a privilege to work with Lee, a man of integrity and honesty. I am extremely sorry to see him go, his shoes will be hard to fill. Altrincham Football Club are proud to have had him as their manager'.

Neil Tolson will act as caretaker manager for the game at Barrow on Saturday".

Didn't see that one coming. They don't seem to have lost too often recently?

They've always seemed half decent going forward albeit not high scorers and poor at the back under him.

Complete shock at Alty, very highly regarded man, total gentleman, who has done a fabulous job for us year on year until this injury plagued season,... and most Alty fans will wish him best wishes for the future.
I can only think that he has decided to go himself, no way the club have done this.
Neil Tolson in charge for the moment.

He has had this coming, he has the best winger ever to play non league football at his disposal in Nicky Clee and finds his team in the relegation zone, tragic.

Ironically, its been the season long injury to our best player (and several others) that lead to this.
Not to worry, I'm sure GTFC will still be here when we come back:fing:

The only surprise IMO is that he went before the end of the season. One doesn't like to see a man lose his job, obviously, but he's had it coming. Alty have been consistently toothless and frustrating to watch for months on end now. I think his leaving has offered a tiny sliver of hope of survival. If he'd stayed, we'd have slid quietly away. Still might.

He wasnt sacked, he showed characteristic dignity and chose to leave, he never wanted or had a contract.
Now you have got your way,... who should replace him ?

1. I perhaps should have written that "it was coming" rather than "he had it coming". You obviously know more than me about the mechanics of what happened.
2. How have I got my way?

He's gone. Its easy to criticise, less easy to be constructive, so who should replace him then?

I think with Sinnott you have to say that he did a good job overall but this was the right time for a change. We're not a club for chopping and changing managers but there was nothing to suggest we were going to pull ourselves out of the shit without taking action.

Christ knows what the plan is for the rest of the season. Surely not just leaving Tolson in charge?

We do have winnable games so if we can just show some passion and inspiration - and actually play Reeves every game - I think we can survive.

See that Todd at Beastleigh has replaced North as assistant manager with Ben Strevens, currently part way through a 7 match ban for spitting.

Southport Football Club confirm that manager Dino Maamria has left his post due to family and travel reasons

Not surprised by this. Things started well with that run of 6 wins in a row. Since then its a been a bit of a struggle

Alty isn't that much nearer to home than Southport. He's done almost enough to secure Southport's NL status for another season, bit surprised he didn't stick around and finish the job off.

It's about average for us to have 3 managers in a season, so it's no surprise to me. We must be running out of managers who 1) we have the resources to employ, and 2) who would want to manage us anyway!
