Following teams away from home is nowhere near as popular in many parts of Europe as it is in the UK.

I remember an instance in Italy a season or two ago where one away fan was in attendance!

Do these teams in Europe not get given allocations then? Seems strange that more people don't travel/go if they're local to the game given it must be really difficult to get a ticket for Barca or Madrid at home

I guess if one tongue in cheek post about you being bigger than Real Madrid constitutes an obsession then I am guilty.......

Tbf that one was quite funny for a change.

I wrote about this on another thread, all about football culture. The only other country in Europe where away fans travel in numbers regularly is Germany. All stems way back from both here and there starting with regional leagues and continuing the trend of travelling when journeys got longer.
Italy, France and Spain barely anyone travels, they are given allocations, but they are tiny in comparison to English leagues, no rules on 10% of the ground etc. In Spain you'll find the best supported clubs, Barca, Real Madrid etc will have fans in the home ends and proper segregation only occur at El Classico and Madrid derby, Basque derby and so forth.

Was there not a game called off last weekend despite having a 3G pitch?
