82 from the final ten is hardly horrific.

I reckon about 60 of those came in overs 41,42,43,49,50 it was another cracking all round effort in the end led by the blademan.

10th ODI ton at the age of 23, very impressive for de Kock, only five 50's too so converts 2/3's when he passes 50.

Must be a selectors love child or something, I know England like to give players extended periods to prove themselves but Jordan hasn't shown ability to have control during a spell over a number of games, Woakes would have been a much better about or if they wanted to take a punt someone like one of the Curran brothers. Have to feel sorry for James Taylor, showed good promise when playing for England and chipped in well but then hasn't been picked in this ODI series and not in the squad.

Jordan is shit. Clearly he must be good in practice or warm up. What does James Taylor have to do to be picked consistently for England? In Indian conditions too. Watch some of our sloggers struggle, whilst someone like Taylor who can rotate and score quick off spin is sat on the sidelines, you can already see it.

Not the best performance from England yesterday, great ton from Root - what a player he is. I think with England's make up and philosophy, winning series 5-0 etc, just isn't going to happen, there will be at least 1 where we collapse or go wrong etc - but we will never lose a series 5-0 either.

Very exciting to watch overall. Look at the leaps we have made in the last year.

James Anderson just picking up an OBE with Prince Charles. Fully deserved. Legend. Will be missed hugely when he hangs the boots up.

1st test between New Zealand and Australia tonight...it has started well for the tourists. New Zealand are 55-5 just before lunch, with 2 for Josh Hazelwood and 3 for Peter Siddle. Both openers, Williamson and McCullum out, so NZ are in deep shit. Should be a very good series this though. Couple of entertaining sides for the neutral.

I couldn't believe that Siddle didn't get selected until the last test over here back last summer - and when he did come in he took the most wickets in the match.

Excellent line and length bowler, he's very disciplined and has a great control over the ball. Not surprising he's back in the side now that our old friend Mitchell has retired; admittedly not a like for like replacement but from the outside looking in the obvious replacement.

Aussies taken control against the Kiwis - knocking them over for 183 and then Khawaja/Smith put on a strong partnership to close on that total for the loss of 3 wickets.

Broad back in today for England along with Chris Woakes.

SA won toss and will field first.

Crap start for England, 18-1 after 5.3 overs on a belting wicket where the ball is coming on nicely. The average score on this ground in the last year or so is 360 and 385 odd in the last 3 matches. We are going to need to pull something amazing off from this point to get up near the 360+. We all knew this would be a hard series though.

Yeah this was our game where it didn't come off. Bound to happen occasionally.

Done very well to get this far considering, when Ali got out it looked like we'd struggle to get 200. Gives us something to defend at least but SA still massive favourites

If we can get to 280-290 in these last four overs then we will have done OK considering where we were once Buttler went.

We're still well and truly in this with those two quick wickets.

How does that make sense though if it was crushing middle stump im lost.
Because when it hit his pad he was (over so slightly) outside the line.
