Can't see us winning tonight with Shaw back in the team.

It depends whether we get promoted or not. If so, it's an end of season piss up and we'll take 10k. Lose out in the playoffs, we'll struggle to take 6k.

Eye bleeding stuff from both sides once again, but I can see a home tie to Goatshed on a Saturday bringing as many in as a regular game now, and it has more meaning than before. It's been a good laugh, although the finishing and killer passes on display tonight were glue league standard, simply appalling.

Poor, but a draw would have been a fair result in all honesty, neither side really deserved to win.

The corner that Johnny Hunt conceded in the build up to the goal was one of the most pitiful things I've seen watching Chester. How that embarrassment seems to escape criticism every week is beyond me. Consistently one of our worst performers for months.

Can't see it being a big final crowd this year at all, 20k tops?

We managed 6k to Chelsea a few years ago but that was cheap tickets and free coach travel. Probs took 10-12 last time we won the trophy but this going back to '96. We'd really struggle to take 5 figures I reckon.

Hereford will have most fans there on the day!

Isn't the Trophy final before the play offs?

No, it's the weekend after the final. Doing a double on the day with FA Vase so the attendance will probably be a few thousand higher than I originally thought.

If - and it's a bloody big if - we get to the final, I reckon we'd take the least amount of fans to Wembley for an FA Trophy final.... yes, we've been there before (5 times!) and each time the numbers have dropped.... we'd be lucky to get around 3-4k... and, if the inevitable happens (the drop) then I can't see there being too many takers for tickets.... we'd have to save our money to buy Conference South Guides for 2016/17.

We will take a fair amount of support if we get to the FA Vase final, we've never ever gotten to Wembley so I'd imagine we'd travel in good numbers. Also, Salisbury are still in as well, they've averaged around 800 this season so would probably bring a fair few as well.

Torquay are ruining our plans for a weekend away there on 19th March. Not happy.

Out of Dover and Halifax who would likely take the most to Wembley? (Just out of curiosity)

Well at least Dover is relatively local so more day trippers might no but Halifax are an ex football league club so must have fairly solid support for this level?

Go on Nantwich 1-0 last night vs Stourbridge courtesy of an 89th minute winner from former Crewe, Burnley and Nothern Ireland striker Steve Jones.

Dover at home in the quaters, tough draw but still got a chance.

The Guiseley performance last night was the complete opposite of Saturdays at Woking. Very poor, no energy, second best everywhere on the pitch, sloppy passing and poor decision making. We actually seemed to improve when we went down to ten men.
Despite all that Dover, despite winning most of the ball, made very hard work of finishing us off, the chances they fluffed were shocking. It was late on as we pushed forward for an equaliser that they finally got the second killer goal.
One to forget in a hurry and turn to a big six point game on Saturday away to Alty.

We have a fair bit of latent support who will still turn up for the biggest games, but like any ex Football League club we're embarrassed to find ourselves even having to compete in this Mickey Mouse cup. Wembley might tempt a few but you're probably looking at 1000 tops. I won't be among them.

If you consider a little over a thousand for home games as fairly solid support, then yes, they do. Halifax, unfortunately, have always had poor support going back to the early eighties at least. I only know because I had quite a few of those Rothmans year books and they were always in 92nd place when it came to attendances.

Hmm, I don't think it'd be that low. I'm just hoping we can extend our league campaign until the final day, I wonder how many would travel to Guiseley if it was another Barnet-esque situation..

Biggest game of our season on Saturday. Hopefully the changes we made on Tuesday will help. Lose, and our season is over and attention turns to how much our 300k budget will be 'reduced' for next season, that will lead to GH and ST leaving.

QF results:

Bognor 1 - 0 Torquay
Grimsby 2 - 0 Woking
FC Halifax 0 - 0 Gateshead
Nantwich 2 - 1 Dover

Absolutely nailed on that we get the winner of the Halifax v Gateshead replay!

I should think the FA will be trying to keep us apart. I am hoping for a Town vs Halifax final and I am sure the FA will be as well.
