So am I really the only prick on here playing XCOM 2 right now? I know I never shut up about those games, but fucking DAAAAMN, you guys are missing out if you're not playing it.

XCOM was already one of my favourite PC games ever and they've just gone and made it even better. No matter what else comes out this year and how good it is, XCOM 2 is in with a hell of a shout of already having my GOTY 2016 in the bag. And no, I'm not forgetting that shit like Uncharted 4 is still yet to come out this year.

XCOM is my favourite games series going probably, first one I played was on the Amiga CD32 and fell in love with it almost instantly. The reboot was a superb return and I played a turn of that and EU. However the decision for 2 to be PC only is quite frankly a shit one, so they can get fucked.

Game has started quite slowly in the opening hour. Lovely visuals though.

Danganronpa 2
Just about to finish the last class trial.

Diablo 3

Been doing rifts with my barbarian. I'm up to level 48 and in dire need of some new equipment. Taking ages to kill anything now.

Just pumped a bear full of arrows and now I'm swimming through ice cold waters in some sort of forgotten cave.

To be fair I have no idea at all why they chose to make it PC only, but I only ever intended to play it on PC (seems wrong with a controller) so I guess it never really changed my opinion on the game. If your PC can run it, I wouldn't rob yourself (especially if you're a huge XCOM fan anyway!) of the chance to play it on that basis as it's fucking superb.

I don't have a pc. Never been into the whole PC thing, I feel there is a level of knowledge needed with PC gaming that I am just not prepared to invest my time in. The reason it wasn't on console was to apparently allow modders an easier platform to do there thing, which from what I can tell seems to almost entirely be nude modes for Skyrim and Fallout 4...

Played Firewatch, starts off very well, very disappointed by the last couple of chapters (days) though. Talk about an anti-climax.

Was on the division open beta over the weekend. I liked it a lot, I got from that what I never could understand, but virtually everyone else seemed to enjoy about Destiny.

I also finally booted up the Halo Masterchief collection last night, I got it fro Christmas 2014 but avoided it due to the issue that were widely reported, took me a while to get my head round the controls (melee on b, reload on bumper, no sprint) which seem ad odds to more modern stuff, but was great being back on the Pillar of Autumn and I liked the changing between original graphics and remastered.

RE: Halo

Recon is the sort of default layout that most people use.

Cheers, I knew there might be a change but only had time to play that first mission so will dig that out. Not sure I remembered reload being up there (as remember Gears being the first in my mind) so imagine I previously had it switched and never realised.

Played this too. It has a shit load of potential but the Dark Zone is kinda "meh" in its current state. You either kill NPC's for loot or go rogue and have the whole server chasing you and your buddies down at the same time. Needs to have a lot more content in the final release imo, and hopefully it will since they didn't include certain stuff in the beta. I was bored with MP after a couple hours tbh. SP was fun though.

Yeah I get what you mean, I still enjoyed the dark zone though, but it would be great if they had more structure to it with specific missions, or like a kind of left for dead style scenario where you are moving across the map trying to accomplish different things, especially if the rest of the zone could be using this to set up ambushes.

Just got Pillars of Eternity. I fucking love this game. It's Baldur's Gate / Icewind Dale / Planescape Torment kinda rolled into one. If you liked one or more of those games, give it a go. Such a nostalgic experience and very enjoyable. Proof that the Kickstarter model does work. Can't wait to get stuck into it a bit more when I get some more free time
