Average, average game. Northampton have been time wasting since the first minute. Top of the league and they're just hoofing into the channels, hoping for a mistake. There are literally no good teams in this league. None.

Whoops.

ROD MCDONALD I LOVE YOU. When your centre back scores bicycle kicks you know the title is yours.

First half, see what the opposition have got about them, keep it tight.

Second half, explode and exploit their weaknesses.

Absolutely this. Amazing second half and we bossed them off the park, our goals were quality and our team is quality. What a day. Currently in a boozer near the ground just drinking it in. Fucking sensational.

Don't even think we played that badly. Northampton were just better.

We didn't. Better team in the first period, then did our usual of making a chronic defensive error for the first and our heads dropped straight away. Not enough guts in the side and you could see that the game was lost before Holmes scored that wonderful goal. Last two were indicative of a side that had given up. Fair play to Northampton, though. Can't see anyone stopping them on that evidence.

First half was very scrappy, ref certainly wound the fans up and it got pretty tetchy. Both teams had their chances.

I didn't think the ref was too bad. Only real decision he got wrong I thought was the foul on Martin, which wasn't a foul, and if it was then the player (McAnuff?) should have been booked.

Holmes is one of the best attacking players in this league. Amazing we picked him up off Pompey's bench.

The best then

Saw him earlier in your game against Dagenham and I haven't really seen a winger come on and turn a game around like that in a long time. Today he was excellent again. I'd have him bang on level with Coxy as the joint best wide man in the league. If only ours wasn't out for the season.

Such a good atmosphere in the away end too. So many faces giving the expression of 'what the fuck is happening!' as the goals went in. The joy of football.

Refs are jobsworth in the championship, makes me shudder just thinking about how bad they must be in League 2.

No complaints from me, the best team won. 4-0 was a harsh scoreline, but a good team top of the league takes their chances and kills teams off. Smith made more saves than Cisak - Northampton only had 4 shots on target in the whole game - But a good team takes their chances.

First half was fairly even, Collins had the one chance for Nothampton, thought we played some decent football on a few occasions.

First two goals were both great finishes, although for me the first one was very avoidable from our perspective.

We had two chances at 2-0 from Simpson and Nolan which in terms of the game we really needed to take, but it wasn't to be.

Northampton will go up and probably win the league as well, not seen a team as relentless as that all season. Pressed high constantly and never once sat back and showed terrific desire and energy to win the game in the second half.

Congrat Cobblers, you've done it. That Holmes goal was an absolute banger.

Is Ricky on course to be Divisional player of the year?

Think if he had been fit the whole season then he definitely could of been. Missed 3-4 months of the season though so that rules him out I think. John-joe o'toole is our runaway player of the year this season. Incredible considering we loaned him out last year and let him play against us!

Oh yes, forgot about Ricky's annual 3 month injury break! Smashing player otherwise and that goal was spectacular.
