Mr Holmes

Ian McKellen plays an aging, retired, Sherlock Holmes frustrated by his fading memory and the fictitious persona created of him by Watson's stories. The story is of his bond with his house keeper's son and him trying to remember his last case which brought about his retirement.

Not a classic Sherlock Holmes story by any means and it's a bit more subdued than the proper stories but it's beautifully acted and quite moving. 7.89/10.

Haven't seen it in years. It's a bit of a mixed bag but it has some truly funny scenes and it's pretty enjoyable throughout. 6/10

Top one is Bonnie & Clyde also. And is that not Angelina Jolie in the other.

Love Dad's Army but this film has not been well received at all which is a shame. I'll watch it however as I'll watch Toby Jones in anything.

Why would anyone want to make a film of a tv series that was close to perfection? What next a new film of Porridge or Only Fools And Horses?

I couldn't tell you, Mowgli. Although I did see in the trailers, much to your presumable chagrin in particular, that the Jungle Book is also getting a live-action remake!

Grrrrr that takes things too far! Jungle Book is a classic that should be left well alone, how can anyone think they can improve on Walt Disney's masterpiece? :sna:

The Sting:

Not usually the type of film I watch (not a fan of America gangster films really) but taped it as it had a lot of Oscar awards so gave it a go. What a bloody good film it is.

Story is about 2 con-men who design an elaborate plot to con $500,000 from the local mob boss, it had afew good moments, looked excellent, the scheme was marvelously done and it had an interesting ending.

would give it a 9/10 really worth watching if you can find it.

Aye The Sting is a great film, must've seen it about a dozen times over the years, it's one of those films you can just pick up on when flicking over and watch to the end.

It's a kids film and my nieces and nephew enjoyed it so it wasn't entirely a waste of two hours. 5/10

Vikings land in America and set about wiping out the native indians. Sounds as though it should be good but it's bang average. 5/10.
