On paper, probably not as tough a month as September. Need to be getting back on track on Saturday.

Daggers A Lose Think it will be tight, but the hosts will come out on top
Gateshead H Win
Wrecsam H Lose. We seem incapable of beating them at PP
Solihull A Draw
North Ferriby H Draw It's the kind of game we'd probably have lost under Brabin, but just has that screw up kinda feeling.
Dover A Draw

A lot depends on how quickly we sort out the manager and who it is though

Hoping we might turn our poor form around this month, we've got a run of matches that look(on paper) pretty promising.

Some of my predictions(not that you lot care):
  • October 1st, Aldershot Town(Home): Loss.
  • October 4th, Guiseley(Away): Win? This could potentially be an interesting game, we haven't won on the road since September of last year but... It's Guiseley so... :dk:
  • October 8th, Braintree(Away): Win? Pretty much the same scenario as Guiseley.
  • October 22nd, Chester(Home): Loss, draw if I'm being optimistic.
  • October 25th, Southport(Away): Win?
  • October 29th, Sutton(Home): Loss.

Would take that. Any less than 10 points will be a disappointment for me

Solihull (H) - Win.
Torquay (A) - Win.
D & R (A) - Lose.
Guiseley (H) - Win.

Think we'll have a better indication after this month if we are going to be able to keep pace with the top teams in this division.
Some easy home games and some very tough away games, would take 11/18 and a win in the Cup.

Dover scored the goal of the season at ours last year, but I think we've not lost to them since 2014.

Who can predict the team that hands us our first win?
Braintree gave us our first single point swiftly followed by Woking and Maidstone.
Just how bad will they feel when it happens, will their manager be sacked?
It'll give someone sleepless nights for sure!

Our fortune this month largely depends on keeping players fit, because our squad is now wafer thin. He has brought in a loanee CH from Eastleigh who may never start a game and worse who was joined on the bench Saturday by the fitness coach, the bosses son and a couple of youth players who again will probably never start a league game and that's it. We do have Marsh who we got from Torquay on an 18 month contract last Jan, but who has probably not started more than three games in all that time, and for reasons non of us are sure about, sits in the stands every match!
Also depends when...or if CK decides to bring Miller back in from the wing. Though Lafayette had a very decent game Saturday, he doesn't work the line in the same fashion and after starting the season on fire, has scored just one in the last seven, so we shall see.

Lafayette scored against Aldershot and Forest Green off the top of my head.

Our squad is big enough, it would be foolish to burn money having a large squad in preparation for the unlikely event of multiple injuries. We had two first teamers out injured on Saturday and were fine, with enough quality sat in the stands to have beaten Lincoln with a couple more injuries. I think the reason Pinnock gets onto the bench over Marsh is that he is a different option from Moses/Modeste/Marsh who are all very similar players. No point wasting subs on like for like swaps. We have cover for every position on the pitch, nothing to worry about.

They aren't beating us without Jonny Maxted. Part of the deal to let him join them was that they agreed to be shit against us, otherwise we'll have him back.

Looks like I am trolling you, but I can't help it LW as my God you come up with strange stuff.

You say our squad is big enough, how on earth did you come to that conclusion. Yes we had two first team members out injured this week, and numerically they have been replaced by two loan players!
Look, CK never replaced Ragget, he never replaced Deverdics (and please don't say Moore, he's a loanee that's only here until end of December) and we never replaced Payne, though if Moses plays like he did Saturday he may well yet to prove that replacement.
We then bring in a CH that unless we start losing may well never get a game which will not only not please his Eastleigh boss, but very likely see him return after 28 days, and depth wise we have youngsters, none of whom will start and a fitness coach on the bench, how on earth does that give us a big or established squad.
We desperately need the arrival of a couple of permanent players that fundamentally are better than what we already have, (like JP & CK have been promising for nearly three months) and ideally we need a creative CM and a CH. Only then, and when Orlu (OMG) and Modeste come back we will then have the decent and big enough squad you mention.

Lastly "NO POINT WASTING SUBS ON LIKE FOR LIKE SWAPS!!!) are you demented my friend. No team, I repeat no team, puts in as much effort as we do, so of course we should use like for like subs. My God, you most definitely are TSE I would recognise his mindset anywhere! :bye:

1. Our squad is big enough, with no transfer window we can always get somebody in if it comes to it.
2. He never replaced Raggett yet our defence looks solid enough and an extra loan player can only help. Orlu will get back into the side once he's back presumably, but Sterling, Orlu, Grimes, Parkinson and the new fella are all able centre halves at this level.
3. Never replaced Payne? Not with a player of his quality, but that is why he is playing in the Championship and not the Conference. Moses, Marsh, Modeste and Miller are all top quality wide players at this level (and yes, I know you don't like Miller out wide but he's still class there).
4. Yes our bench is weak but we have some quality sat in the stands for some reason unknown to you or I. I'm sure if need be Kinnear would be happy to give them a chance, as well as the young lads. As a side note there was a couple of player I didn't recognise sat in the stands Saturday -presumably one was Howlett-Mundle but I have no idea who the other was.
5. I would agree that we are a CM short but we have Moore until January so plenty of time to get that sorted.

Orlu will be back in no time and Modeste has plenty of replacements.

Why do like for like swaps? Our players (apart from maybe Moses) all showed they can all cover ground non stop for 90 minutes. Surely it's better to have at least the option to change tactics if need be on the bench?

How can you continue to question CK and JP? They have proven their worth time and time again and deserve to be given the trust that they wouldn't leave us short - they never have done yet.
