Big rumours this evening that Edwards has been sacked and that 6 first teamers have been put up for sale - The problem looks like it runs deeper than the players actually being shit etc. Our finances could well be totally fucked at as well it seems

I did hear that yesterday another club had bid for one of our players, but I wasn't sure how true it is so didn't want to put it out there so to speak..........

I doubt Orient will be out of business, no FL side has gone out of business for 25 years and it seems the FL do everything they can to make sure a club won't fold these days.

That said, we've been linked with Bowery and admin (which may or may not happen) is now 12 points as opposed to 10 which could be damning.

So is it bollocks then?

Does Bechetti own the ground and can he basically fold you to build houses?

That's the only motivation I could see for why you'd do what he's doing at Orient

Hearn owns the ground. Orient did own it...

Right. So the actual information behind this rumour is that Alex Cisak, Tom Parkes, Callum Kennedy and Jordan Bowery have been made available for transfer. Which is fucking stupid if they won't be replaced...

Edwards hasn't walked nor been dismissed and Orient aren't folding this season.

This really sounds bad, whatever way you look at it. You have looked like a car crash waiting to happen all season, It looks like the crash has happened now. What might save you is that several others teams are ahead of you experiencing their own prangs.

Having gone through our own nightmare I feel very sorry for you, and it may take a number of years to get through it all. I wish you well.

I wonder if Millwall, given their unfortunate travails, will be in touch with Hearn?

The thing is Newport are signing, Cheltenham are signing - if they improve their squads and we're weakening ours then logic stands to reason they will gain more points and we will gain less...

Players not listed, frozen out or injured for the season who weren't playing in our youth team two years ago are:

Liam Kelly (injured for another month, class act when fit for this level)
Michael Collins (contracts up at the end of the month)
Ollie Palmer (not good enough)
Paul McCallum (excellent in the penalty area, horseshite out of it)
Gavin Massey (League One standard)
Sammy Moore (spent half the season on loan at Dover because that's his level)
Nigel Atangana (adequate)
Nicky Hunt (lower League Two defender, age has most certainly caught up with him)
Ulrich N'Nomo (Injured for a few months, only a youngster still and haven't seen enough of him tbf)
Teddy Mezage (Not seen enough, played for Standard Liege so hopefully has something about him)
Yvan Erichot (Don't rate, mentally not good enough)

Kelly and Massey are top players for this level. McCallum can score if he has the service. Beyond that there's no real quality. If we stayed in L2 I certainly would think twice about renewing anyone elses contract.

That's 11 senior pros... One right back (Hunt), two centre backs (Erichot and Mezague), four central midfielders - one of which is out for a month and the others contract is up in a fortnight (Kelly, Collins, Moore, Atangana) one attacking midfielder/ winger (Massey), one winger/centre forward (N'Nomo) and two centre forwards (McCallum and Palmer).

There's also Janse and Dunne but both are frozen out. Weir is injured for the season.

It means we will be relying on youth players Sargeant, Pollock, Judd, Semedo, Dalby and whoever else will be promoted and whilst they might have done very well at youth level and have promising prospects in the pro game from what I've seen I can say with a degree of certainty Pollock, Judd and Semedo aren't ready yet.

Orient are a proper team like us. Such a shame if either of us drop out of the league

Not saying that, just think it would be bad for both clubs and football

Not sure how many people have followed this thread and our owners crazy and stupid actions for the last two and a half years, but right now personally as someone who's not taken a game of football too close heart for about sixteen years now, since I realised as a sixteen year old boy that my football club I chose to support was all but destined to be a bottom tier club, I am at my lowest and most frustrated point. I am seeing the local football club I have supported for the last twenty three years being killed off and used in front of me and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

Becchetti appears to have a racked up one serious debt since the summer of 2014 to around (give or take) £12million, this has come about by signing and sacking/releasing players on HUGE wages for a club of our size on average gates of around 4,500, as well as managers, coaching staff, backroom staff and all the admin staff and directors in the background.

All the money he has been using, hasn't been his own though, its been coming in by loans by two other companys he and his family have setup within the football club - Google it to find out.

It would appear he has been using Leyton Orient as a hobby/plaything - Throw vast sums of money at it and hopefully gain success quickly. Well, this could work, except you've got to manage your staff and staff appointments the correct way. He has made many wrong appointments since he got here who've all been responsible for our current league position. This appears to have triggered his desire to "interfere" with things such as team selection and training schedules.

He is a man who's family have appeared to give him as much money as he wants and rather hire experienced professionals within a respective field, he has hired inexperienced yes men, who will bow to him and always let him have the final say.

It would appear that the protest last November has finally made him want to sell up, HOWEVER.......with Leyton Orient currently around £12million in debt and with him having purchased a debt free club for around £4million two and a half years ago and whom DON'T own their own ground, there aren't going to be too many keen takers.

He is now desperately trying to cut our wage bill across the board to make us a more viable option to sell. If he can't sell us, or find some one to take up these debts he has stacked up, or write all these debts off.....then we will 100% go into administration within the next 6 months - No doubt about it, what he is doing is simply not going to work if no more money is going to be put into the football club.

What annoys me the most, is that he will walk away and we will be lucky to even be in the Conference because they don't let teams in if they are in administration. At best we will start next season in League Two with a 15 point deduction, thats if we even exist.

So when you think you have a bit of a wanker as an owner, just remember. It could've been much, much worse. We have been used as toy the last two and a half years and because it hasn't worked......A local community may well lose a part of itself

I thought the conference had an agreement that they had to take a relegated side even if they are in administration. I may have been mistaken but didn't Aldershot do this but they had to be out of administration by the non league AGM at the end of the season.

Just checked to be sure
14.B.8 In the event of any Club entering the Competition from the Football League whilst subject to any
Insolvency Event, then that Club shall be eligible for membership of the Competition and the provisions of Clause
14.B.1 will not apply to it at the AGM at which it is first elected into membership but will apply in all seasons after
its first season of membership of the Competition.

A Club Statement from Chief Executive Alessandro Angelieri reads as follows
“The actions of the club over the past two and a half years have always been in good faith and that can never be doubted. A squad without future was inherited, and has been completely renewed with it today including a number of talents aged between 17 and 24,
Mr Becchetti did not like the fan protests because at the beginning of the season everyone, supporters included, praised the club for their summer transfer business. Thereafter Mr Becchetti doesn’t play on Saturday.
I think that within common sense, Mr Becchetti will continue to fund the club, though appropriate offers for the club will be considered. One offer has been received, but it was not acceptable for a number of reasons.
In regards to player departures, since last February Jay Simpson had scored six goals, and from last summer he had been trying to leave the club. Andy Edwards rightly decided to leave him out of the squad because of his lack of commitment to Leyton Orient.

Jordan Bowery’s contribution during the first half of the season was imperceptible, so his departure can be considered neutral, while Alan Dunne was out of the plans under both Andy Hessenthaler and Andy Edwards.

In terms of funds available, it’s not the club that has to give guarantees to Andy Edwards, but vice versa. Andy can count on prospects who he has helped nurture like Sam Sargeant, Sandro Semedo, Myles Judd, Sam Dalby and Tristan Abrahams who has scored 20 goals for the youth team this season, as well as great young talents like Paul McCallum and Gavin Massey who are players with fantastic qualities, and have a massive desire that was lacking from players in the past like Darius Henderson, Jobi McAnuff and Jordan Bowery.

I think that my absence due to ill health could have had some negative effect, but I believe even further that the absence of Mr Becchetti during the last three months has had a more negative impact on the squad. His personal business did not allow him to be close to the team, when he would usually come to the training ground every Friday and to the games on a Saturday. Mr Becchetti has a great charisma and the players definitely feel his absence.

We are fully confident that we will remain in the Football League come the end of the season but if it was to unfortunately happen we will keep our current policy in place of promoting and showing faith in young players.

Three interesting points that this statement appears to be stressing:

1) The future (and our present) is with our youth. Good luck to you with that (though you never know it could bizarrely work).
2) Extraordinary and frank assessment of some players, this is not something one usually sees publicly.
3) The owner appears to be the key to team performance. Not something you hear too often.

This is the problem with the 'FFP' rules.
The Salary Cap Management Protocol that is used in the EFL dictates that a club can only spend a certain percentage of its income on wages.
There is no restriction on losses made though.
In the Premier League and Championship where FFP rules apply it is the opposite with restrictions on losses but no wage cap.
I have long argued that the best and most effective solution would be some sort of hybrid of the two.
Anyway, good luck to Orient. I have always had a soft spot for them having been brought up around there and watching them as a nipper with my dad.
It is always darkest before the dawn.
Hopefully the halfwit Italian will be gone soon and The O's can start to regain their identity and rebuild their future.

Not quite up there with Stan Flashman and his "The fans don't matter...they only pay their money to come in...I don't care if they come or not", but fair play, that statement at least gets a nomination for one of the worst statements made by a club official.

I'm not even sure if it's the best statement from the Italians. Back in League One Becchetti issued Slade with an ultimatum, win your next game or you're gone. Becchetti's program notes afterwards alluded it to getting a reaction similar to smacking a child or something. It was utterly fucking bizarre.

Just to hammer home how bad things really are for Orient fans: I'm actually pleased with that shambolic, ham-fisted, google-translated mockery of a club statement. It's genuinely the most coherent and well-worded piece of communication we fans have received from the Italian regime in 2 1/2 miserable years.
In addition, the team they inherited was 100% debt free, had been assembled without paying a penny in transfer fees, and went to penalties in the League 1 play-off final (and, to be honest, deserved to win that match - we were unbelievably good that season).

When you see these things happen to other teams, like Chester, Darlington, Stockport etc. (I went to Chester's last game in the football league away at Aldershot, great day out), you view the drama with a mild interest, maybe a whimsical sigh at the fact you may not get to go to that ground for some time.

When it happens to your club it's devastating. The complete lack of control you have over the situation is demoralising, especially when those in control are incompetent at best, malicious at worst.

We will survive, as Orient or as AFC Orient, and I'll always support the team 100%. In a weird way I'm looking fondly towards the Conference - so many grounds I've not been to before.

Not much more to say really; non-Os you may as well grab your popcorn and 3 points when it's your turn to play us. Oh, and re-mortgage and whack it on us to go down. Easiest money you will ever make. I put £100 on when the odds were 6/1.
Os; not much we can do, just turn up every week to support the team, keep arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times and hope for the best.

Up The Os.
