Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Of course the claim that anyone said that 'brexit will cause WWIII' is just another leave lie. It was Boris Johnson misrepresenting something Cameron said.

Not too sure what the point of today was. There was to be no supposed running commentary. Think she's feeling the pressure hence this hot air. She's contradicting what she's previously said though, even to the point we'll be worse off.

Imposing a three line whip would be decidedly daft. MPs in strongly Remain constituencies ought to be able to vote against in accordance with the wishes of their constituents.

If Labour MPs are forced by Jezza to back article 50 and brexit, against the views of a majority of their MPs and voters, it might be the final death blow for the Labour party.

7/10 Labour constituencies voted to leave...

edit: not saying Corbs has it right or wrong, it just seems to me that Labour are in a tricky position.

I think you're overestimating the influence of libtards. Labour's core constituencies all voted to leave, without it's core the party would cease to exist. Take the upcoming stoke central by-election, I guarantee if Labour showed signs of not backing article 50 they would lose it to UKIP. Your assertion could also be aimed at the Liberal Democrats. Believe it or not some of their constituencies voted leave so their whining remain line is a contradiction to even it's own voters!

People have overwhelmingly accepted brexit now let alone by 2020. Blocking article 50 would decimate Labour and present the scary scenario of UKIP upsurging both LD's and Labour into second place. Those remain constituencies will have no other choice but to vote Labour come 2020 anyway. Apart from the big cities the entire country went leave. In the big cities no other party has a chance in hell of getting in, the margins for Labour are too big.

I fear those opposed to Corbyn will seek to undermine him, it really wouldn't surprise me to see a lot rebelling under the pretense of upholding democratic honour when it's really doing the exact opposite.

I think you are well wide of the mark here. I voted out but as Abert has said most of us have accepted the vote now and just want to get on it. The old school like my Dad would lose absolute faith in the party should they try to block it and I have no doubt he'd vote Ukip in the next election simply because he would never vote tory. The dick.

Kinder, gentler politics.

Labour's core constituencies all voted to leave, without it's core the party would cease to exist.

The big metropolitan areas of the UK aren't "core constituencies"? Most Labour voters voted to Remain.

Blocking article 50 would decimate Labour and present the scary scenario of UKIP upsurging both LD's and Labour into second place.

No one's arguing that Labour, as a party, should attempt to block the bill, merely that MPs be allowed to vote in accordance with their conscience.

Apart from the big cities the entire country went leave.

Simply not true.

It's nonsense. Guardian have retracted.

When asked this morning in Scotland, Corbyn dodged saying anything about a whip, but is quoted saying Labour MPs are "being asked to respect the result".

The right result, you can't big up Parliamentary Sovereignty as a patriotic ego stroke for years and then try to by pass it the moment it doesn't suit you.

Rightly or wrongly, to the layman, the government has already exercised its right to defer the decision of staying in the EU to the public. The fact it could now be held back (and it looks like some MPs may vote against the bill) won't be understood by many of the population.

Parliament needs to be very careful as any delay or sense of holding back will only grow UKIP popularity.

Today's result in the supreme court isn't about overturning the majority result in the referendum, it is about ensuring that parliament reaches the correct decision with regards to how we leave the EU. It simply ensures that there are not a few people within our Government making decisions that will affect each and every one of us just to suit what they want, need, desire to massage their ego.

Maybe there should be a 2nd referendum to decide whether we go hard or soft
