You sure? They moan about the football under McCarthy, it wouldn't improve under Rowett.

Personally I don't give a fuck how the football looks as long as we get results, Rowett played effective football at Brum and it's all gone tits up since they appointed someone who's trying to play prettier football.

I doubt the style of football would improve but I think their results would.

Speaking of Rowett, Brum losing again. 7 games without a win since Zola's been there, makes the decision to sack him even more laughable.

Norwich are out to an injury time goal. Probably best thing for them but that will still sting. Can't see Zola lasting long.

As opposed to Bristol City losing 10 of 11 in theirs.

Zola's had a tough run of fixtures. There is no shame in losing to Brighton, Derby, and Newcastle. Not fair to judge him till he has got his own players that suit more to his style of football.

In two of Rowett's last three matches we lost 0-3 at home to Barnsley and 0-4 against Newcastle. Under Zola we've drawn away at Barnsley and twice matched Newcastle in the FA Cup, with a weakened side. Results will come.

I doubt they will with Zola at the helm, as likeable as he is.

As an Ipswich fan right now I should probably just get back in my box, though.

First part isn't relevant. Deserve everything you get for sacking Rowett, results may not come if you carry on like this for a few more weeks and he's sacked.

We have no style or plan currently. Players unable to be expressive. we couldn't make two passes against a non league side.
McCarthy has had so many chances to correct things, but insists on his own way which doesn't work.

Frankly though, the manager issue is only one of the problems we've got. Marcus Evans has a lot to answer for. His solution to getting increased attendances is to allow for an increased away fan allocation! We rarely have a sell out away end. The plans even talk of allowing more away fans in if we get promoted, which surely wouldn't be needed as we'd get more Town fans in if we were good enough to even promote. The owner, the board and the manager all clueless.
During this review of falling attendances, no talk of reducing ticket prices.

What was the "told you so" about then.

Because way back before 1FF, on the previous forum i remember having an long debate/argument with an Ipswich fan about McCarthy when they appointed him. Everything I said to this guy about McCarthy playing crap football, constantly playing people out of position, arguing with and insulting the fans, and being an all round stubborn fuck regarding general attitude to the club has come into fruition. I feel justified is all.

And he always goes to the media after a bad result with the 'oh they can sack me if they dont like it' comment, whilst telling fans to stay away if they dare critisize him. He did it 3 or 4 times with us before we called his bluff and got rid of him, 18 months too late mind.

Got given an extra allocation for Utd this morning after selling out the 1,900 in about 90 mins which again the club have subsidied. All sold out now at the cost of about 60k to us. Richest club in the world for a reason United.

So I was all for Sutton Utd getting to play us, until their owner /chairman spoke out

"Leeds might be in for a shock if they play their reserves I fancy our chances, we play on a 3G pitch, and not many teams do"

first of all we have more important matters than worrying about the fa cup, and our reserves did fine vs Cambridge (i'm sure they are better than you) secondly, erm yeah we train on a 3G pitch, most big clubs have alternate training facilities etc (unlucky)

it's obviously gonna be difficult it's the fa cup, but to expect us to play our promotion chasing team is a bit daft and then bragging about the "rare" 3G pitch is a bit short of research

I think you'd of sold the 5.5k if you'd of took them. I suppose it's fair your club didn't want to take the risk if you didn't sell them. We took 8.5k last year and sold out easily teams are actually entitled to 11k plus providing the police allow it.

Your opinions on McCarthy are fair enough, but it makes your facepalm in response to me seem a bit contradictory now that you've gone on to explain that your initial post was about his whole time at Ipswich/Wolves, and not just referring to a single quote.

Perhaps something along the lines of begging Leeds for mercy. Fact is we have a good home record and not many teams fancy coming to GGL and playing on our pitch. It's the default excuse for every ex-league club who gets turned over at Sutton.

Kev seems to be making a mountain out of a molehill

Leeds have only been allocated 755 tickets, due to Police advice unfortunately

If the extra 2.5k tickets were also subsidised then yeah we probably would have. Can't blame the club though, the extra allocation in that upper tier would have been £55 a seat so £30 in subsidies and over £100k paid back to United, whereas if they had taken the extra allocation and made our fans charged full whack then we wouldn't have shifted them. It was more than generous enough of the club to subsidies the 3k seats in the normal away end for us and let the United tourists pay full whack for the upper tier. The only thing they messed up on was letting STH's have 2 per person when we have 8k STHs. Meant a lot of people missed out, I got mine though so I'm not bothered. :D

So you're having a go at me because I forgot to quote the post above mine even though it was obvious to anyone it was the post I was referring to? Get a life buddy.
