Anthony Hamilton wins his first title in 26 years on the tour, the German Open.

I was happy for him, it's been good to see all these unexpected winners this season.

Hawkins well in control at 6-3. I wonder at what stage he starts to wobble?

Both of them are looking shaky now. Bit surprised Hawkins didn't take the free ball

Get in there Bazza!

Next the tour rolls on to the Welsh open which starts tomorrow. Always a good tourney and one that Ronnie is actually interested in winning...

Good to see Barry Hawkins hold on - seems to have been a pretty solid player on the tour (got to the World final the other year?)

Yep, after his Masters nightmare, he needed that. Like Hendry said after the game, if he'd blown that, he'd never have forgotten it.

Anyway, on to the next tournament, starting today!

Big win for Lee Walker (who?), coming from 3-1 and plenty behind to beat Neil Robertson 4-3. Big fluke on the final black when 3-1 down.

Yeah. Another one of the experienced veterans of the tour Lee. Bit of a journeyman. Rember playing as him on World Snooker 2003 on the PS2. Lol. Classic Neil Robertson. Just cannot win enough "scrappy frames" You dont get any bonus points for winning a frame with a snazzly century.

May be one for the future with 15 year old Welsh Potege Jackson Page who has won two rounds and plays Judd Trump tomorrow.

Yes, just Googled Walker - a Worlds quarter-finalist in 1997 (!), beaten by Alain Robidoux (!!)

Now Ireland Josh Bolileau has beaten Shaun Murphy 4-2. Definetley a who?

These arent Shocks no more though. Of course players dont turn up and deliberately throw matches but I certainly think with there being so many tournaments they try harder in some matches than others.

The format for these Home Nations gigs is particulars poor IMO.

A flat 128 draw is ok but it has serious flaws. And its no wonder weaker players are winning things when Martin Gould can meet Marco Fu, then Barry Hawkins. While Journeymen can meet each other and get to the quarters and semis. You want the better players at the back end of tournaments.

I dunno DSL, I can't remember a more interesting season than this, precisely because of the spread of results.

Trump / Borg is a strange game. Borg can't find position to save his life, yet it's 2-2.

Not the greatest quality tournament really, including the final, where neither player took a real hold of the game. I must admit I thought Trump would prevail at 8-7, rather ballsed it up IMO.

I thought Bingham had a rather charmed run over the last few rounds, with most of his opponents not turning up. Trump never looked on top of his game either.
