I hope they have a terrible season, finish bottom with a record low points tally and finish the season liquidated. Then I'd like to see Dale Vince in 10 years as a fat, skint, meat eater.

Apart from that, best of luck FGR!

well this gives those teams in the playoffs added incentive.

also, is it Dale Vince or Vince Dale... I can never remember.

finally, should we stay down, I hope FGR enjoy being put in the Pioneer Meats stand and getting an eyeful of dead fox before the game.

Although I felt this was inevitable I was hoping for another year before we'd have to play the greenies again. Glad I'm not the only one that seems to have a dislike to stale mince! Can't wait for him to get bored!

Chris FGR's pre-season BULLISHNESS pays off, at long last. And they still had time to lose at home to North Ferriby.

Welcome aboard the good ship promotion.

Well done FGR, glad you have made it, this league is gonna be ok with lots of local teams for us to play, the last 2 seasons in league 1 has been a nightmare, with it being dominated by northern clubs and as you are only 10 miles away from where i live , i could not be more happier!

Crazy. Fair play to them.

The population of Nailsworth wouldn't fill the away end at the Ricoh Arena. How times change!

Some of our fans missed the start of our first game there, cows in the road. To be fair their bar sells Real Ale but the veggie burgers were awful on all my four visits. Yes, I know that I should not have tried them each time but there is cock all else to eat.

Suppose if your a Grimsby, Lincoln, Luton, Cheltenham, Barnet, Cambridge or a Mansfield fan you'll have experienced the joys of forest green down in the conference.

So I guess nothing new to a third of the division.

The league has Accrington Barnet and Morecambe who all are similar sizes attendance wise, we've had the dog & duck here who are now back down in the conference, so hey, best get on with it.

Their decent attendance at Whaddon Road last season was 804.

That's what you can expect in terms of numbers next season. We're the other side of the county and they couldn't muster 1000 fans.

I'm not one for talking about attendances and whatnot, as a Cheltenham fan I certainly can't say much. But the support numbers at FGR just prove how unsustainable the club is. If Vince doesn't get his Eco-Park then God help them.

I remember going to Forest Green when the supporters bar did the best cottage pie going. Never liked them since they did away with that.

Unsustainable club that has been around 128 years, were in the Conference for 12 years, went full time and built our current stadium which we fully own and were averaging 1000+ gates long before the Vince/Ecotricity takeover. You know very well we're no flash in the pan club.

Ah yes, Rich used to do a great job with those, still miss them. There are a couple of decent chippies in Nailsworth plus pubs that do food, plus you can bring your own food in if you can't cope without a meat pie during a game. I know quite a few people who bring their own stuff, cos believe it or not, just cos our club is owned by a vegan and doesn't sell meat, it doesn't mean our fans are all vegan. I'm a fucking carnivore.

When will we hear the first 'FGR fairy-tale' story by media people who have no idea what's gone on there. On a club size to funding ratio, they're probably the highest bankrolled Club in the FL. £10m losses in two years I think it was.

Dale Vince just wasn't very good at choosing a manager, that's why it's took so long. He went about it the wrong way first of all with Hockaday and handing out expensive long term contracts that no-one else could match so if they didn't work out, they were stuck with them. Pennock started to change that and Cooper's just about finished it.

It's veggie land inside in the Stadium, but you can take meat products in with you.

Their home to away attendances are pretty decent as a % of their support but obviously not in numbers because you can fit the population of the place in a single stand of most grounds in L2. Probably worth noting that they were a solid Conference Club before the money arrived, bar one(?) reprieve at the AGM Cup.

That said, the posters on here are generally ok. Chris WUM's most of the time but on the odd occasion when he posts sensibly, you realise he was a good poster before he went all stupid. I'll let Sparrow do his poster break-down for you all like he did us.

Hello guys! The unthinkable has actually happened, this is like the day after brexit where everyone thought we'd stay but the shock result changed everything! We're that shock result and we are going up!! I already love how we're getting so much more coverage than Lincoln!

Be nice to us and remember we're proper fans to on here who travel home and away, it's not our fault a multi millionaire took over but we're embracing it and enjoying the ride!! I have a banging headache so I'm back off to bed!

Has vince really said "getting out of league two will be easy" as there are 4 spots for promotion.

Having watched them yesterday and looking at their squad they're going to need a hell of a lot of new additions to even stay up.

I fucking hope Vince didn't say that. Last thing we need is everyone being extra fired up against us next season cos we've been percieved as running our mouths off again. This aint tinpot non league anymore, we're not the big dogs here.

Survival is the aim, but will be interesting to see which style out of ours and Lincoln's does better at this level. Passing it out from the back or physical hoofball?

For those saying they are not sure why people hate FGR, it's because the represent everything that is wrong with modern day football. A millionaires play thing, that will never be sustainable and will continue spending double or more of anyone else in order to win anything. Spending 200k on agents in non league, and losing 10m in 2 seasons says it all.

Physical football does prosper here, but don't do it all the time, it's what we did when we won the conference, and though it worked for a while, we got found out and didn't win for about 3 months.

A good mixture always works, though the good sides play good, fast, passing football - if you're a team of cloggers (bit saying you are) then it won't work against better sides as a general rule of thumb

We'll now go back to how it was 20 years ago when we always played at Forest Green on Boxing Day or New Year's Day and despite being a far better side always lost. They were a massive bogey team for us and probably will be again.

Or maybe the fact they are now a far better side than us it might work the other way round?
