You're kidding right? Why should any well supported club accept such a thing? They're not B Wood ffs.

No sign of light at the end of the tunnel but quite accustomed to it now ! I suppose a large chunk of our supporters know no different

Gutted Tranmere didn't go up, as they're now still the biggest club in this league.

But I'm sure next season Mickey Mellon, with a full season in charge will get them over the line.

Congrats to FGR.

Will miss all of you guys next season, looks likely to be a tough league with the 6 play off stuff as well. Feel sorry for Torquay fans- Eastleigh must be the nearest next season
great goals- last year had the shortest second half on record, this year the longest :bg:

Just got home! Thanks for the congratulations... Still can't believe the result.

Commiserations Tranmere. With that squad next season and two decent replacements for Buxton and McNulty, they will be hard to stop.

Will Forest Green fans demand to be congratulated this evening upon winning promotion like Crazy Imp did?
Myth. #fakenews

I will however congratulate FGR on their success today, fully deserved on the day - it's an upset no doubt but they were offensively too good and clever for the likes of McNulty and silly Mike Ihiekwe.

People always say that the loser of the final will piss the title the following season, I'm not sure it has ever happened. If recent history is anything to go by, Tranmere will win next year's playoff final.

We lost the league one play off final and got relegated next season , the players literally had a hangover ....I'm dissapointed because I believe Tranmere WILL win the league , and win it handsomely

The victoria ground is one of those places i have mixed feelings about, the hartlepool club and people are amazing however it was whilst we were playing away at pools that the breaking hillsborough news started to flood through to tranmere supporters bizarrely ive never been back due to that reason.

I'll have to be spiteful and send photographic evidence of all the veggies at the burger bar next to the Tranmere fan zone.

I don't know what to say about that day really. Absolutely devastated. FGR were better, and we were well away from our best. I wish they hadn't soured things with all the time wasting malarkey, but that's not what won them the game. Hard to feel positive about much at the moment, I have a sneaky suspicion that was our chance and next year will be more difficult. I might take a few months away from the forums...

I spoke with a number of Tranmere fans before the game, we agreed that we might see a close game and that it was really hard to call. I was predicting a tight encounter and thought our best chance was if the scores were level heading into the last twenty minutes or so, when their defence was tiring and the likes of Woolery, Marsh Brown and maybe even Bugiel could use their pace to create chances, I wasn't expecting that to happen towards the end of the first half. We saw some great finishing, had Tranmere punished Russell for attempting Cruyff turns in his box, or the missed connection a yard out, then the game might even have made extra-time. Fine margins often decide games, today it was our turn, I have a feeling that Tranmere will have theirs next season and I wish them all the best...come and join us!

I had FGR to win 3-1, but unfortunately had KMB to open the scoring to go with it.

League looks easier next season than recent years IMO.

You are never going to forget where you were when you heard that news , I'm sorry you associate us with it , but at least you were amongst real football fans who also won't ever forget .... please come back , we've got a couple of new stands for you to look at and some proper northern pubs serving proper northern beer near by ...

Very much this, delighted with the goals we took but Tranmere had some excellent chances that just wouldn't go in and would have turned the game until it looked like it just wasn't their year. Every chance next year will be though.

Congratulations to Forest Green, there is no doubt that the better team won.

We just were not at the races today. Seven or eight players were below par and I think the Wallace injury and yet another change of formation was too much for us. We were as poor defensively as we have been all season.

What's Ihiekwe done to upset you? Might come across him again if Lincoln's ascent up the FL goes to plan, as he's apparently signed a pre-contract agreement with Barnsley.

Congratulations to FGR. On the day, the better team won.
Having watched your boys yesterday I've decided I wouldn't take a single Tranmere player in our squad, never mind our first XI.

(Sorry to the rest of the Tranmere lot for kicking you while you're down, but Belmont brought it on himself)

Nah. Not biting.

:brill: how haha??

Wouldn't say we were robbed. We created more but at the end of the day we didn't put our chances away and FGR did.

Seems to be a few on their forums with this view as well, also criticising the referee. An equal number saying they were outplayed though.

As a neutral I was impressed with FGR, better than they've been for ages and certainly deserving of the win.

I think the frustration came from the way FGR killed the game with feigned injuries and time wasting. It felt like there was a 20 minute period in the second half where virtually no football was played at all. It was a little unsavoury after a top first half performance by them, but there wasn't a single Tranmere fan that I spoke to that begrudged them the win.
