Not sure where this Bowyer speculation is coming from. He's fourth favourite in the odds but that's about it, unless I've missed anything?
That's because money was on Fatty Evans but we weren't allowed to speak to him, then Cotterill said he wasn't interested. Archibald, apparently, has been interviewed and was meh.

A lot of supposed itk down here are 100% convinced it's Bowyer and he actually applied. The week before Power said the new man would be in by last Friday - the day after the play off semis - and now it's next week after the final.

Now sold over the 15000. Blackpool sold 3000 on their first day of sales so expect the crowd to be around 22-23,000 mark which is a bit of a shame.

I hear Blackpool won't be selling more than around 4000 for the game due to their boycott.

Certainly going to be an odd looking crowd. Perhaps it'll give Exeter an edge.

I'm so nervous about this now.

Going to Twickenham to watch the egg chasing final the day before - hopefully it will at least provide an 80 minute distraction from the ridiculous levels of anxiety i'm experiencing this week.
Playoffs suck. I know I should just try and enjoy the day but the stress is not doing me any good.

Who knows. Forest Green certainly weren't affected in their final recently....

Just hope we put in a similar performance to last Thursday as if we do we will surely win...

Blackpool showing Cov/Oxford how to do a boycott properly.
Although they've now sold over 5,000 tickets as of yesterday so not as few numbers as first thought. Still going to be an odd atmosphere though!

5000 is probs a club figure which has seemed higher than pictures show all season.

Although even 5000 is a big win for boycotters as Blackpool can easily take 20-30,000 to Wembley.

Well the tweet came from Blackpool Police and they gave an exact figure of 5289...Either way it's still going to be a largely empty half of Wembley!

Didn't they take 37,000 when they won the play off into the top flight, there will actually be more Blackpool fans boycotting this match than the entire crowd on match day!

Good luck to both teams, it's not a nice feeling if your team doesn't show up. Still waiting for Argyle to arrive for last years final!

What a fantastic weekend for Exeter with the handegg and the playoff finals, which both can only benefit the South West and people may realise that sport goes further than Bristol in this country!

Either result for us argyle fans it's a win win. Exeter win and we get 6 points and some extra gate money next season. Exeter lose and we get to laugh like you did last year.

Popular opinion though is that we actually want you to come up, not sure of any other rivals in the country who would feel the same. And if it was ECFC who were up and us in the final it definitely wouldn't be the same. Ultimate big sibling syndrome I think that is.

May the best team win. Shame the atmosphere will be drab due to boycottage, but it normally is at Wembley anyway!

Plenty of your fans wishing us to lose Prof.

Pasoti is probably a more mixed viewpoint because most of the people on there are relatively well educated. Well, they know how to use an internet browser at least... You can bet all the knuckledraggers will be kicking off at each other down Union Street if we win. :box:

There's no evidence that a significantly bigger crowd for any team makes a blind bit of difference.

We should know.

I want you to win. You have played some good football and have some good players. Moreover, as a non-janner I like to see other teams in the south west do well, though I am keener on the Chiefs. Though like my chair based colleague I can see win-wins with either result. But whatever happens hope you are all safe.

What is the rugby/football mix like in Exeter - do lots of people support both (the rugby team have really just become being a major force in the last 5 years or so) or do they sort of look at each other with daggers as sometimes happens in a football/rugby city/town?

I was at an Exeter supporting pal's birthday party last week and he told me that a fair few Grecians were planning to make a weekend of it and go to both matches. Could be an ideal time for burglars in the area - his comment, not mine.

Surely you will be rooting for Exeter Chiefs - opposition is another Franchise disgrace like MK Dons. No matter how incompetent the owners the CCFC have been 150 years of football history should count ahead of sale of the Ricoh to a Fat Cat to put his toy rugby team in there. Here hoping for an Exe double...

Yeah I know a fair few people doing both finals this weekend.
Generally though the overlap isn't that big, fans seem to lean heavily to one sport or the other for standard Saturday afternoon matches.
When it comes to big games however I suspect more people turn out for both clubs.

From what I've seen of Exeter and Blackpool this season Exeter should win this, Blackpool looked pretty decent here and I was happy to scrape a 0-0 against them on the day but Exeter completely blew us out of the water and could easily have scored more than the 3 they settled on.
Also if Exeter can win then that gets rid of Exeter Plymouth and Pompey from this league, 3 of the longest away trips for us of which should help our away support numbers, which we don't like to talk about.....

Exeter and Blackpool were two of the best teams we played this season, both have great attacking options so should make for an entertaining match.

I want Exeter to go up, mainly so there's another localish fixture. Morecambe and Accrington are the only local games left.

Franchising in RU isn't rare though. Not that it makes the take over of your ground right. Personally I think that ground and club shouldn't be owned by different people/groups then issues like this wouldn't happen.

TBH, I know very little about domestic egg chasing - following England in the 6 Nations and World Cup is as far as it goes.

Blackpool are the best team we've faced this season and I can't help but feel if blackpool are at it tomorrow they'll win. Hoping for Exeter though, it'll be a good story going from bottom to promoted within 6 months. Plus Blackpool is nearer so better for an away day.

Blackpool going up would be a pretty creditable achievement too, granted they've been thereabouts most of the season, but it's not easy to arrest a slide after successive relegations and their manager doesn't seem to be getting enough credit.

Unfortunately, even if I certainly respect their stance and their determination to out the Oystons and get the wider public, media and footballing authorities to sit up and take notice through boycotting such a major event is admirable, I get the impression that the fans would be boycotting en masse even if their team was in York's situation this season, as they seem completely apathetic towards their team. I was in Blackpool over the Easter break and saw them play Accrington when they drew 0-0 and missed a penalty and didn't look very likely to reach the play-offs. The atmosphere around the club seemed quite toxic with many at the ground laying into the players and a fair few slagging off the team as well as the manager on their message board, with one even calling him their worst since Colin Hendry(!). Yes we get you want to get rid of the Oystons, but don't let your anger spread towards the playing and coaching staff, without which there would be no Blackpool FC. Hopefully if Blackpool go up, there'll be some fans among those who don't attend who'll show their appreciation and thanks by whatever means to the players (and maybe manager) who have given their all under difficult circumstances, none of which their making.

Enjoy yourselves today, be safe, and if Exeter lose, well at least the Chiefs won, so county heads held high. Whichever side is the unhappy one, just remember last year we were in that situation and now we out of this league.

Blackpool fans are the most whiniest disloyal fans in existence!

Boycotting against a regime that have got them in the play off final playing good football and there's poor Leyton Orient and Hartlepool who are out of the football league and going down the shitter. No way do Blackpool fans deserve any sympathy and they even had the privilege of just being in the Premier League not so long ago which is every lower league clubs dream, so don't tell us how bad your times!

1-1.....excellent for me...had a BTTS......:bg:.....good game so far.

On a separate note....I heard one of the commentators say that Exeter had turned down multi million pound bids for Ollie Watkins....Seriously ?
