Had a bid accepted from Bolton for Jamie Proctor.

Must say none of these potential targets are blowing me away at all.

Decent L2 striker. Is that four moves in the last four transfer windows for him?

Jesus christ how does he still manage to find a league 1 club. We had him on loan about 4 or 5 years ago and he was shit then, he's nippy and agile so he can get out of tight areas but a terrible footballer and finisher and also incredibly selfish from what i can remember.
Posh fan says he's a decent footballer and Rotherham fan says he's terrible within space of about 3 posts, absolutely love using this thread to get an accurate opinion on players.

Not sure, i've never heard us been linked with him before but we've been linked with every Tom, Dick n Harry for last few years so i wouldn't be surprised.

Your building Fleetwoods old strike force there. Balls alright but Proctor definitely not. Guess you never know.

Eh?

Sounds like he's just Billy Clarke's chavvy clone from what I've seen elsewhere. Tidy player but low impact. If you look at it like we sold Clarke for 100k and got this guy for free then it's not a bad signing, but realistically we need much better than Clarke to get out this league.

Twitter and message boards have gone into meltdown anyway, good times.

Not a bad player but needs the right players around him. Rotherham fans seem to like Joe Newell but was absolutely shite for us. Players do well at different clubs, tactics etc. It's just football.

Brad Inman has gone to Rochdale on loan. Came here with a good pedigree but got injured and never really made an impact.

Joe Newell is a strange 1 for me, he can look a world beater 1 game and score a beauty or he can drift out of the game completely but he certainly has the talent.

Jon Taylor however who Posh fans seem to rate struggled really bad in the championship last season. Hopefully league 1 is his level and he has a good season because he has far from convinced me yet he looked like a right headless chicken at times last season.

Inman is an enigma. Looked class when we loaned him from Newcastle. We signed him for £100K and he was sub-par for two years before having a decent final year for a side that were 24th in League One. His broken leg last year must've done him no favours at Peterborough but Rochdale is a great place for him to resurrect his career.

Good player but this is definitely his level and it wouldn't surprise me if his next move was down a division.

We have signed Dean Bowditch on a 2 year deal. MK fans, still got anything to offer?
I think you've done well enough getting him and Powell in.

Bowds has a lot of injury problems, and I think his best is behind him. Struggles to beat a man but will pop up with a few goals. He works hard, I was sad to see him go but thought it was the right time for him to leave if we were to progress.

Not a chance we'll sign Bostwick. We won't spend the money or wages on a player like him.

Paul Taylor is dire too. I'd be worried if I was a Bradford fan. Replacing decent players with sub standard players. Taylor's got all the flair in the world but absolutely no end product.

Really thoroughly pissed off at that.
He took a bit of stick from some of our fans last year and some were quick to say he was past his best etc fucking etc. He has only just turned 31 ffs!!
The truth is he was trying his plums off in a shit team, feeding off scraps.
He is still sharp and was far and away the best striker at our football club.
Great signing for Dons and look after him.
He will get a great reception at our place.

Bye Cody

Well said. Without that late double against Bristol R, we would be in L2 now.

I'm hearing that Joel Grant has left us to join our green chums, Plymouth.

Wasn't expecting that for sure. He's a classic example of a lower league winger. Lots of tricks, pace but ultimately limited end product. He would have been backup to Lee Holmes for us so not a huge loss but I am surprised Argyle signed him. Assume he will be backup.

Normally I'd say good luck but on this occasion I hope he has a shite season.

You're signing Jamie Proctor so right back at you there bud.

Taylor's a direct replacement for Clarke who wasn't exactly a world beater. Who else have we signed sub standard? Chicksen and Kilgallon are steady enough in this league.

Already been quoted, but Jamie Proctor! :D

Still set to make an additional 8+ signings - I wouldn't write us off just yet.

I fancy Bradford to be up there again, clearly their transfer dealings aren't done yet.

Proctor is a squad filler.

Kiefer Moore to come too.

Meredith far better than Chicksen.
McArdle better than Kilgallon.

Taylor and Kilgallon will be squad fillers for us mate. Debatable whether McArdle would have even played last season if Kilgallon hadn't ripped his pectoral off his shoulder so don't know how you've worked out he's better.

Welcome back glad you're still talking bollocks.

So far this summer we've made a couple of signings in Richie Smallwood and Peter Whittingham. I remember Smallwood from Middlesbrough years ago and he seems a grafter. What do Rotherham and Scunthorpe fans make of him? Should I expect Cruyff turns and Rabonas every game?

As for Whittingham, I'm super happy with him joining up. It's good to have someone creative in the middle as we haven't really had that since Cairney left. He should be a class signing for League One. Saying that, I was chuffed when we got Danny Murphy for our first season in the Championship after relegation and that didn't work out too well. Fingers cross Whittingham does the business and I'm sure he will.

Other than that we've been linked with plenty of other midfielders such as John Bostock and Bradley Dack. I'd certainly be happy with them signing up, especially Dack.

Ok then. Taylor looks to be a direct replacement for Clarke. Massive quality difference.

Kilgallon has done fuck all for years, infact little to nothing since leave Sheff U. McArdle's been an ever present for you and a very solid player. It's a massive downgrade anybody can see it.

Same goes for Chicksen. Nowhere near the same league as Meredith.

Smallwood is probably one of the most boring ineffective players to every play for us. He rarely passes it forward, mainly sideways. Don't let him anywhere near set pieces too.

Says it all when he couldn't get into Scunthorpe's side when we shipped him out on loan to em last season. Mainly substitute appearances.

So we've downgraded to a less versatile version of Jason Lowe then? Great. I imagine (or hope) that Smallwood will be back up for Corry Evans but we'll have to see.

Do you say stuff just so people reply to you and you've got someone to talk to? A massive quality difference between Taylor and Billy feckin Clarke, no chance. McArdle didn't get a sniff for us last year until Feb and then he came in because pretty much everyone else got injured and we ended up conceding the most goals per game we did at any stage last season. Plus he's pony with the ball at his feet compared to all our other centre backs which isn't how we play anymore. As for Meredith he left to a higher league and we've got a steady young replacement in with potential, how is he sub-standard? Makes no sense.

Have your ever seen Paul Taylor play? He's fucking atrocious. Clarke scored 7 goals for you last year. Taylor will get nowhere near that. I can guarantee you that now.

McArdle or the infamous crock Kilgallon? Do a poll. I'd bet at least 75% would chose McArdle. Solid and reliable. Other is a crock desperate for a final payday.

How is Chicksen not sub standard? So you're trying to say Chicksen is as good as Meredith? If you're not you support my point.

You're replacing decent steady league one players with shite.

I thought our business was bad until I saw yours.

If Taylor's atrocious then he won't play, we've actually got good attacking options this year. Why would I do a poll on something that only you give a shit about? Kilgallon's cover for the left side of defence anyway so pointless going down this avenue, when we sign McArdle's replacement whoever he may be then you can come back and talk out your arse about him, which I'm sure you will. Tell me how is Chicksen sub-standard in this league? How many times have you seen him play in this league? Keep posting if you want, I'll happily make you look like a mug.
